  1. Johnson has scheduled a vote for next week on this. Smartest move he's made to get it out of his chamber. Here's what I think - if the House majority is 2/3rds or greater then the pressure on the Senate to take this up will be enormous. If the rumor of nearly 100 GOP House members voting for this are true then they will easily exceed that. Remember that it's not like these GOP members suddenly have a conscience. They are being pressured by the QANON crazies who are holding them to their promises of releasing the files.
  2. I'd bet this is why Trump is fighting so hard to keep this stuff under wraps. https://bsky.app/profile/jakevig.bsky.social/post/3m5jk7x6cbk2s can't imbed for some reason so here's a screenshot:

  5. Ooh Megan bless your heart. This will NOT end well for you.
  6. Remember- the problem for Trump and the GOP is that this is THEIR baby. They are the ones who campaigned on this all throughout 2024. It was people like Patel and Boingboing who promoted the conspiracy theory around these files. They are the ones who released a bunch of binders (PHASE ONE!) to MAGA influencers - who discovered it was stuff they already knew. It was AG Blondie who said “THE FILES ARE ON MY DESK!” Democrats didn’t give a shit. THEN… The FBI found Trump’s name all over the files. Blondie and Kash tell Trump. Trump tells them to kill it, resulting in the infamous “nothing to see here case closed” memo. MAGA goes ballistic on Blondie. Blondie tries to throw Kash and Boingboing under the bus. Kash and Boingboing retaliate. Democrats say “heeyyy….maybe releasing these files isn’t a bad idea!” And guess what? MAGA AGREES! The Democrats didn’t a great job just applying gentle pressure, simply saying “Release the Epstein Files” as a retort to any idiotic thing MAGA reps said. Now the GOP is stuck in a trap of their own creation, and cannot make it go away. Glorious.
  7. https://clerk.house.gov/DischargePetition/2025090209 The list of signees. Bacon never signed it (likely because it wasn't needed.)
  8. They were already at 217. This seals it. I don't doubt for a second that it was one of the considerations. They had to get this done NOW before the special election in Tennessee concludes. Correct and it has to be seven legislative days rather than calendar days. Keeps this in the news longer. it's too late, and a lot more than 4 or 5 will vote to release the files.
  9. oh a lot of stuff is gonna happen. it may not be what many of us will want to happen. one thing for sure - this is likely DOA in the Senate. Thune wants nothing to do with this thing.
  10. if Trump fails to get Mace or Boebert to remove their names, then I'd say Swalwell is correct and all hell is about to break loose.
  11. "these aren't smart people"
  12. Ok here we go - it's the "hoax" line again that he promised to expose on the campaign trail:
