  1. Franklin was 0-8 vs. ranked opponents at Vanderbilt. Was cited as a weakness when he was hired. Conversely, Clark Lea has 5 wins against ranked opponents (he's 5-17 overall with many losses coming earlier in his tenure). He's 5-4 over the last two years against ranked opponents.
  2. Not a lawyer but I'd bet it works. If Trump has any say in who is prosecuting then the case has no chance.
  3. And also requires regular cognitive tests like being able to identify a dog vs a cat (or whatever it is). And this is the future for the GOP - Trump's supporters will come for you whether you were supportive or not.
  4. You're right but still it's wild watching the NCAA Selection Show and all of the crying and hand-wringing over the first four left out of a 68 team field.
  5. My idea makes more money and that's what this is really all about.
  6. The problem with the current format is there are too many AQs for only 12 spots. If you want that many then you need to expand. Just use the same AQ model and expand to 24-team format like FCS. Everyone will still bitch about the 24th team just like they do the 68th in the basketball tournament, but at least you don't have too many shitty teams blocking more worthy P4 teams.
  7. Cowboys actually have a very good chance to win out. The only team left with a pulse is the Chargers and you get them at home.
  8. You are thinking like I am, but unlike a religion we're still dealing with a political party. If this were in Europe we could see the GOP splinter into several factions and parties, but our system lends itself to two dominant parties. When a third party comes along it either is defeated by the two existing or ends up supplanting one of the others. We saw this with Ross Perot and the Reform party. Once Perot left the stage the party collapsed. However, unlike Reform the GOP still has a pretty large infrastructure in place in spite of the fact that Trump has corrupted a sizable portion to serve his personal interests. Oh yeah and the GOP will have not had a platform for nearly a decade once Trump is gone so they will have to deal with that at some point...
  9. To be fair Vandy is kind of new at this "being good at football" stuff. (other than 100+ years ago)
  10. MOAR TEA
  11. muscoop is a very dark place right now.
  12. It's clear that Penn State jumped the gun firing Franklin when they did, but I can't help but remember USC's coaching search after they fired Hackett. They had some very high profile names turn them down then had to "settle" for Pete Carroll. We know how that ended up. Still, I don't see how Penn State gets out of this without doing the Rodney Terry thing which it appears they are going to have to do.
  13. It's possibly both. She needs Trump in the immediate future to secure the GOP nomination for governor, but also needs to start positioning herself for a post-Trump GOP. The competing narratives will be "this is what Trump wants/would have wanted" and they will tear themselves apart fighting over this narrative for the foreseeable future.
