  1. Water supply to an 850 year old 226 foot tall building with no sprinklers or standpipes would be a nightmare, just the access with lines without standpipes would be hard, my guess is they’ll set up shop and try to pick a defendable space. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Agreed just passing it on, I’m a career FireFighter myself and haz-mat definitely isn’t my thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Just talked to a buddy who is on one of the fire boats, said don’t listen to what the news is saying, he said it’s gonna burn the whole tank farm before it goes out,I asked him to send some pics when he had some down time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Get a Caucasian Ovcharka, toyed around with getting one long ago then realized I didn’t want a buddy walking into the house and my dog killing him by mistake. Got to walk one once and I don’t really think it was well trained, feeling that dog pull on that leash made me quickly realize that if it decided to go somewhere other than where I wanted it to their was nothing I was gonna do to stop it, supposedly they are very much a one family dog and will protect what they know with their life. 7. Was working for a landscape company out of Jarrell doing a job in Georgetown just out of High school, we were laying sod and I’ll never forget the hail storm that came through, the sky looked blackish green and the storm was very violent, we got stuck on a feeder road about 3 miles south of Jarrell on 35,DPS had shut 35 down. We saw the shadow of the Tornado miles ahead, Later on I helped with the search and cleanup with WCSP. That event inspired me to become a Firefighter a few years later Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Definitely like ray Stevenson May be a bit too old and weathered though, what about Alex skarsgard, Joe managiello, could Jason Momoa pull it off? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. Air tankers, fire lines and Backburns......the engines will be assigned to structural protection no hand line will touch a fire like that, you basically try to get far enough ahead of it and bulldoze out all the fuel or backburn the fuel out ahead of it so when the fires converge there is nothing left to burn. The problem is with wind that fast it’s a real dicey guessing game choosing where an anchor point that’s far enough ahead. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Going back to what drew me in, very dark so far Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. 3-4 isn’t gonna do it, when the other team figures out they can’t pass, they sure can run for 8-12 a carry Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. While I realize the 3-4 isn’t good against the run they should have a backup 4-3 or 5-2 bc this is bullshit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Never thought I’d agree but yea looks totally different this year, vital part of every play. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. Good to know, I’ve been in 18 years, we refer to our scheduled days as shifts or tours. At 0700 your shift begins and you are considered “on duty”, never heard it referred to as anything else. But yes you are right some shifts are easier than others and some nights you don’t get woken up at all. Other shifts you can go with 2-3 hours of sleep a night, it really just depends. But yea when it is flooding and such we tend to stay pretty busy . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Negative I was on shift for that long, like the Op asked. And it’s entertaining running into people who think all we do is play ping pong, eat, wait for calls and drain tax payers money Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
