  1. Something can be crazy without being surprising. Trumps a fuckin loser. His political brand is in obvious decline. It is insane that no one is working effectively to take advantage of that.
  2. It is crazy to me that there isn’t a single serious moderate candidate throwing their hat in the ring for the GOP nomination. So far we have: Trump DeSantis, who is playing to the hard right of Trump Trumps VP (Pence) Trumps UN Ambassador (Haley) One of Trumps early prominent ardent supporters who worked on his 2016 campaign (Christie) A senator who has consistently gargled Trumps nutsack (Tim Scott) Who does that leave? Asa Hutchinson? Wtf. I guess it makes sense now that Hogan and Sununu have been ruled out, not sure who would even qualify? Marco Rubio?
  3. I have a hard time seeing us take 31 kids in this class lol
  4. Ok so the dream class would look something like: QB (1): Owens RB (2): Gibson, Clark WR (3): Hudson, Livingstone, Wingo TE (1): Washington OL (4): Cruz, Saina, Uini, Ivy DL (4): Simmons, Umeozulu, January, Okoye LB (3): Williams, Smith, Mothudi DB (3): Black, Bridges, Johnson-Rubell P (1): Kern ATH (3): Bussey, Maddon, Hampton
  5. Starters (5): Hunter, Abmas, Mitchell, Disu, Shedrick Bench (4): Weaver, Cunningham, Onyema, Anamekwe Walk-ons (4): Perryman, Clark, Bott, Prince Thats a really good roster. Legit 8 deep with upside to be 9 deep. Maybe add a guard who can drain 3s or be a defensive stopper, but that would be gravy. Should be a Sweet 16 team as-is.
  6. Belyeu will also contribute, I missed him.
  7. I see us as just needing 2 weekend SP and 2 OF if things go as expected. The 2 OF should be pretty easy to get but the market for quality SP is thin, so that could be a big ask. If they just get one then the lineup should still be good enough to carry them to at least the regional but if they get 2 then the sky is the limit. My current guess of a list of who will contribute: Catcher: Galvan, Schuessler, Sanders IF: Thomas, O’Dowd, Flores, Powell, Daly, Borba, Ardoin, Kennedy OF: Sweeney, Duplantier, TBD, TBD SP: TBD, TBD, Hurley, Morehouse, Sthele, Harrison RP: Whitehead, Duplantier, Tole, Lummus, Stuart, Shaw, Boehm, others I expect the bullpen and infield to be excellent. SP and OF will determine how good we are.
  8. His parents lived to 93 and 88, when medical technology was not where it is today. We are stuck in the living world with this piece of shit for at least 10 more years.
  9. Fucking Audible. If you cancel you lose all the credits you have. Fuckers.
  10. I guess we will see how this plays out, but DeSantis’s attempt to outflank Trump to the right seems like the stupidest fucking thing he could ever do. His only hope was to consolidate GOP opposition to Trump by bargaining with people like Haley, Pence, Scott, etc. to win the primary, then move further to the middle to beat Biden. By doing what he’s doing (moving right of Trump while also engaging Trump in political battle), he’s presenting himself as an enemy to the people he desperately needs in order to win both the primary and the general. Idiot.
  11. My hope is that eventually Hulu/Disney/ESPN will include all of ESPN’s live programming and everything Disney owns the rights to (including Nat Geo, etc.), hopefully for $25/mo or less. Add in a potential MLB streaming option that lets me watch the Astros live for $15/mo or less, and I’d be a pig in slop and cancel Netflix. $40/mo for essentially everything my kids and I ever want to watch is a fair price.
  12. I hate everything as a subscription too. I mostly hate how difficult/expensive it has become to have legal ownership over digital music. We have Netflix, Disney, and Prime. I have capped us there, which sucks because it means no ESPN and no Astros network.
  13. I’m in for $1000 to video you fighting 5 25 pound badgers. Not a bet. I’ll just pay you (or your estate) $1000 regardless of the outcome. Unless that’s illegal then I’m out (but pm me).
  14. I thought this movie was excellent. One of the 5 best movies I’ve seen in the last 10 years. I was obsessed with basketball as a kid in the late 80s and early 90s, so that was definitely part of it. But I felt like the acting and writing was top notch. The speech Matt Damon gives at the climax of the film really hit me, as I felt like he summed up why our society worships pro athletes, and what sports is all about: greatness is inspiring, even if it’s just putting a rubber ball through an iron hoop.
  15. Will you be satisfied if Tucker walks but Altuve, Framber, Brown, and Bryan Abreu are all extended by 2025? I would rather have 4 addl seasons of aging Altuve, 2 more of prime Framber, 2 more of prime Brown, and 2 more of prime Abreu than 5 seasons of prime Tucker and 5 seasons of aging Tucker.
  16. Yeah no chance Bellinger is ever an Astro. Fuck that guy. Salvador Perez (if he’s at all willing to waive his 10/5 rights) is the guy I would go after. Lets them choose which weak hitter they want to displace in the playoff lineup (Abreu or Maldonado). I like Dubon but anyone saying he should be playing over Meyers is foolish. Meyers is playing like a star everyday CF and has FAR more upside than Dubon on both sides of the ball. Dubon’s value is as a fill-in across 7 positions.
  17. Not sure if serious but I do think most people are dramatically underestimating the kinds of jobs that will be replaced and how quickly the change will occur. That said, I think society will adapt to keep unemployed low, between reduction in working hours per person, demographic trends, and newly created jobs. I would bet that my white collar professional services job will 80% replaced by AI within the next decade.
  18. Rick “not a real Scot”? Dark money Rick? Gritsy Ricky? Rick’s Life Matters? Ol’ Sunset Rick?
  19. They’re not bringing Gilbert up until all of these 3 things happen: He gets to at least 150 pa in AA with continued good numbers (he’s at 50 pa now) They know whether or not Brantley is coming back one of Meyers or McCormick is either injured or slumps to the point their wRC+ dips below 90.
  20. I do all of our laundry. Four motherfucking loads, every week, without end. My wife does 95% of the dishes. One morning she was whining about the dishes and acting like shit was unjust, and said “I just wish you’d fill the dishwasher one time”. After she left (I work from home), I got a big ass load of clothes, and put them in the dishwasher to teach her a lesson. Luckily I got them shits outta there before she got home. I’m a coward but I have the sex.
  21. Next time you see me please come introduce yourself.
  22. *raises hand* Cannot be ready to order when the waiter comes to take our order. Ever. Also cannot order anything without making at least one modification. Which is fine when you’re at nice restaurant, but fucking maddening in a fast food drive-thru. Be ready to order and order by number, for fucks sake.
  23. I have tried both, but not at the same time. As the poster above said, they are pretty different drugs. Xanax zonked me out, numbed me up. It’s like alcohol in the sense that if you’re feeling a panic or anxiety attack come on, you pop a Xanax and it relieves the symptoms, but I really can’t understand how anyone can be on it all the time. Xanax was moderately useful for panic attacks but didn’t do anything for depression in my case. Lexapro is an antidepressant that was less acute in its effect on me. It also made it so I couldn’t cum which was a total non-starter for me so I dropped it after just a couple months; on top of that it just didn’t really help my depression. Caveat to the rest of this post: *I am not a doctor, this is an anecdote, listen to your doctor over me*. Also TLDR: get enough sleep, exercise, and gratitude, and watch your diet.
