  1. So far this thread has been all “pathetic man” and not much “downfall” wtf.
  2. This has all the makings of Beville starting then being replaced by Evers who runs all over us while Card shrinks from the moment like a scrotum in ice water. Fuck me.
  3. If Walker, Masters, or Oz becomes a Senator, we are turbofucked. Each of those would start off their career as on the list for worst Senator ever.
  4. Aint too Christian running round the village cuttin off heads and shit
  5. We will go 3-1 at home against WV, TCU, ISU, and BU We will go 1-2 on the road against KSU, OSU, and KU We will beat OU. 7-5 going into the bowl for an 8-5 finish. Enough to keep Sark around and the recruiting class from tanking. PK gotta go tho.
  6. Then I am assuming going 3-9 in year 2 would qualify as a scandal.
  7. Losing to Tech just puts more pressure on the remainder of the season. Now if we lose to WV, we go to Dallas as 2 TD underdogs to OU with a 2-4 record and the national narrative starting to be about who replaces Sark, and the recruiting wheels start to shake mightily. Coming out of OU 2-5 probably means Sark is done. That said, nothing regarding expectations has changed since preseason. Oddsmakers pegged us for 8 wins, which means 5 losses, and one of those would have had to come to a team we were favored against. Losing a road game to a team likely to go bowling doesn’t have to be a coffin nail. If by some unexpected turn of events we beat WV and OU, we will be back ranked and firmly back in the mix for the Big 12. I still expect us to win 7-8 games, with 9 wins being more likely than 6 wins.
  8. The idea is that we suck because of our school’s culture. Wealthy meddling donors and fair-weather, fickle fans leading to spoiled entitled players (and coaches).
  9. Card falls somewhere between Case McCoy and David Ash.
  10. I understand it, but calling for Sark’s head after this game is stupid. Nothing has changed since the end of last season. 6 wins or less and Sark should be fired. 7 wins and he has to fire PK and is on the hot seat for 9+ wins next year. 8-9 wins and he gets another year. 10+ wins and we all line up to suck his dick. That is all still possible. If/when we lose our 7th game this season, then we can call for Sark to be fired. Also, people saying this is program related and not coaching, I won’t buy that until a coach gets fired from Texas and goes on to have success elsewhere.
  11. In terms of expectations nothing has changed since preseason. Seems pretty simple to me: 6 wins or worse: Sark fired 7 wins: PK fired and Sark on hottest of hot seats 8 wins: unacceptable but you get another year 9 wins: ok 10+ wins: raise/extension
  12. I think corner infield and how quickly Witt comes back will determine how the season goes.
  13. That is a good point that I didn’t mention. Technology will certainly mitigate the labor supply issue, but that’s 5-10 years away at best. And since we didn’t start pulling the immigration levers 5-10 years ago, we could be in for a decade of pain; not the kind where people are out of work, but the kind where shelves aren’t stocked, services aren’t available, and investments take a beatin. Gonna stay weird.
  14. People retiring early is a big one but I also think a lot of prime working age people are working less (or are just less productive).
  15. Some got old, others got less productive. Why destroy wealth when you can redeploy it?
  16. I think #1 and #2 make up a LOT bigger % of the issue than 3 and 4.
  17. I’m increasingly concerned that this round of inflation is largely the result of demographic shifts and thus raising rates will not address the real issue, which is a worker shortage across the entire first world. Instead of reducing access to capital for everyone we should be reallocating capital from those who’ve been increasingly hoarding it for the last 30 years (in addition to using immigration to increase supply of young workers).
  18. So far it’s been ok. Solid character development, good acting, excellent world building. Lacks the Star Wars nostalgia which I’m sure will come. Mandalorian was grade A and I will be shocked if any SW shows top it. Boba Fett was weak (C-), and Obi-Wan was a mixed bag (B-/C+). So far I’m giving Andor a C+ But I expect it to get better.
  19. The lax security at my gate this year has been shocking. The lack of involvement from the band has been disappointing, as has the lack of organic “Texas! Fight!” chants. There have also been inconsistent rules about being able to cross sections to access concessions and restrooms, which is insane. For Bama there were 45 minute lines for beer in my section while no lines at the next section over. I like the terraces/patios in the south end zone. I got moved to 31 from 17 and it has been fine EXCEPT I went from 3 seats from the aisle to 40 seats from the aisle and that SUCKS.
  20. This. Oct-Nov is good. March is good. There are some decent weeks in Dec-Feb but generally it’s cold. April thru September is fucking hell on earth. I hate it here now.

  22. She may not have a choice. It sure seems like she has been an overwhelming liability for him. I’m not sure if there is a clearly better alternative but I can definitely envision a scenario where replacing her makes sense.
  23. If he is alive, he will run again. I am more anxious to see if he switches VPs.
