  1. He has 10&5 rights, he will not be traded.
  2. Congrats! Great to get a take from somebody actually doing it who doesn’t appear to be full of shit. What does 6-7 shifts per month look like in terms of days/hrs per week? What was your household net worth when you went down to part time? I am beyond the “number” I originally shot for and if it weren’t for my wife wanting more and my kids being so young I would probably quit working or go part time. My job just represents way too good a value to me right now in terms of pay vs time/energy I actually put in; I work from home and essentially have my schedule set up to have half days every Friday. My kids are in elementary school, so retiring wouldn’t free me up enough to make it worthwhile; if I quit now, I’d be running errands for them and doing housework rather than anything enjoyable. I will be 55 when my youngest graduates high school and I can’t imagine working beyond that. I have told my wife that if something changes to the downside with my job (get truly miserable or laid off), I’m not getting another one, and she’s on board with that (in theory).
  3. At that rate by 2050 Tokyo will have 25% of Japan’s population, and be roughly the same size it is now. That island gonna be empty af.
  4. If that’s the full trade it’s the worst baseball trade I have ever seen without the benefit of hindsight. Horrible.
  5. If Buttigieg is Secretary of State, he’s qualified for POTUS. He wouldn’t need a senate term or governorship. Serving in 2 different cabinet positions in 2 different administrations is plenty for the resume.
  6. I disagree. They have played it perfectly. Hiding her allowed her this moment to come out and leave people pleasantly surprised; there would be nowhere near this amount of excitement/momentum if she’d been out front the last 4 years. It also prevented her from saying/doing something that could have taken this opportunity away from her.
  7. Nah. I’m not tryna roll up to the San Francisco DA’s office looking for somebody or have a beer with. Tack on her being the child of 2 college profs and while she’d almost certainly be interesting to talk to, I doubt she’s “a gas”. Don't take me wrong. I’m glad she’s the choice. She’s capable. She’s respectable. She’s qualified. She’s fit for the office. And that’s enough.
  8. By the polls the EC is 216-219 with 8 steps up for grabs to varying degrees. Harris’ VP pick needs to be whoever increases her odds of capturing 54 more EV the most. From the folks mentioned: Kelly: pluses: could be the deciding factor in AZ. Very high Q score who could help with suburbanites and/or never Trumpers. minuses: boring. Unlikely to bring out young people or minorities, whose turnout will likely decide the election. Shapiro: pluses: could be the deciding factor in PA. Very intelligent, effective politician. Young. minuses: could turn off pro-Palestinians. Unlikely to sway suburbanites. Unknown how he would impact young voters and minorities. Walz: pluses: probably locks down MN. Very effective politician. Folksy guy who will appeal to midwesterners (MN, MI, WI, rural/western PA). minuses: might seem old. Harris can probably win MN without him on the ticket. Unlikely to motivate young voters and minorities. Beshear: pluses: Young, high Q score, knows how to appeal to voters as a blue candidate in a red state, so could help in AZ, NC, WI, and GA. Effective politician. minuses: doesn’t guarantee a swing state. Not sure a white dude from Kentucky is going to help drive blacks in Atlanta or latinos in AZ to the polls.
  9. Kamala isn’t cool if we are being honest. She has nowhere near the charisma of Barack or Bill. What’s fuckin cool is the unity we are seeing behind her. She is cool by proxy.
  10. 3 things I would like to see someone pose to Trump: ”Donald, please recite your favorite prayer or bible verse.” ”Donald, please tell us the names of your grandchildren.” “Donald, please describe what an Allen wrench looks like.”
  11. And was convicted of fraud in NY based on testimony from Peter North.
  12. He replaced his cabinet member more often than I change socks. He won’t admit a mistake, he’ll just do it and talk about what a loser Vance is.
  13. Not keeping Blinken is a mistake. Replacing Austin probably would’ve happened even if Biden stayed.
  14. This is 99% of it. Blacks won’t turn out nearly as much for a ticket with a gay white dude on it. But also, Pete (who I think is potentially a legit genius, and at minimum the most gifted communicator I have ever seen) lacks the kind of governing experience typical of a POTUS/VP candidate. He’s never served in congress, he’s never been a governor, and he doesn’t have experience in an executive authority role in a large organization; being in the cabinet made it MUCH more reasonable to justify him on the ticket, but it would be loads better if he had been a governor or senator by now. But yeah, it’s the gay thing.
  15. Who will decide the election: Latinos in Arizona and Nevada Blacks in Atlanta and Detroit Yutes in Philly and Milwaukee and Charlotte
  16. Harris/Kelly major campaign event assignments: Detroit: Eminem and Gretchen Whitmer Atlanta: Beyoncé and Michelle Obama Philly: Taylor Swift and Josh Shapiro Milwaukee: George Clooney and Barack Obama Charlotte: Bruce Springsteen and Roy Cooper
  17. Pieces of shit that I would vote for over Trump: Harvey Weinstein Bill Cosby R Kelly Ellen DeGeneres Sean Combs On the other end, people I would NOT vote for over Trump: Steven A Smith Jake Paul Tucker Carlson Elon Musk Steve Bannon
  18. If Harris can win Georgia or Michigan or Pennsylvania by getting blacks or women to turn out, then she should be on the ticket. If a swing state governor or senator can win their state for certain, they should be on the ticket. This election is not about policy or governance, it is about winning the election. At this point I don’t see how Biden can win a single swing state outside of maybe PA.
  19. Good point. I take it back, fuck that analogy.
  20. What a waste of energy this comment is. There is 0% chance fatty’s dumb fucking ass will understand it. I have been thinking a lot about dumbfucks and what a problem they are. About how stupid motherfuckers nowadays are so firm in their belief that they have a valid opinion and that their voice deserves equal if not more volume in every conversation, regardless of topic and how little ability they have to comprehend the nuances involved. It makes me think of the movie Good Will Hunting. People love that movie because the hero literally and figuratively beats up on intellectuals without having to do much work. I figure most folks who vote for Trump probably know they’re not Will, but they might think they’re Ben Affleck’s character and that some dumbass shitbird like Trump or MTG or Charlie fucking Kirk is a real life Will Hunting. But in reality, the average Trump voter, including fatty, is most closely akin to the crackhead girl Will recognizes from juvee while he’s talking to Minnie Driver on the phone in jail, and there is no Will Hunting; there’s just Ben Affleck’s dumbass dressed in a ridiculous suit yelling “RETAINERRRR”.
  21. Definitely a risk. But I think her intellectual/cop background will take a back seat to the fact that at the end of the day, she is a black woman. I think she can reach black women in Atlanta, and that’s really all it’ll take.
  22. If Kamala is the nominee I think they have to go all in on her blackness. Black turnout in Atlanta, Detroit, and Philly could be the difference in the election. Trump has no path to victory without at least one of PA, MI, or GA. Biden steps down with grace, heads to PA to stump for Harris. Harris spends a shitload of time in ATL and Detroit. Cooper stays mostly in NC. The momentum carries over to NV and AZ. Harris/Cooper win with 319 EV.
