  1. hrm - the bobsled is badass. i got a little nauseous watching. seeing ur speed on strava, i'm just blown away. ua - my sis in law got her first bq at mercy health glass city marathon in toledo. its a late april race. weather was perfect. I'm trying convice myself to do the Fort Worth Marathon in November or White Rock (Dallas) in December. I will at least do the half marathon at the Fort Worth Marathon. I really need to push myself in the swim and get a 70.3 triathlon done in 2019. i really slacked in the tri dept this year.
  2. this thread feels like deja vu... check out goodr
  3. I doubt i'll ever visit. I never go to subway a few block down and I rarely go to gallagaskins. But I will hit up great outdoors about once a month.
  4. I love my four 10s mon-thurs. my work is 15 mins from the house. I can work out in the morning, get to work by 730a, home by 630p. the only way i go to five days, is if I can go in early, 6a or 630a. I'm in early riser. I want to get the day over.
  5. did you go today? did you get a pork chop? I still haven't tried a pork chop.
  6. A friend of mine who starts residency next year, said he wants to buy a place in como near bryant irvin, to live. he said its an upcoming area. I told him, you may not finish residency. I told him, you and your fiance will both make $50k a year in residency, look at river oaks and burton hill.

we just got back from Port A. when we first drove by beach and station st grill, we thought it was closed, it definitely looks in worse shape. We did go to the phoenix, did not have sushi but contributed to the Dave fund. the crab cakes are phenomenal. i was disappointed at liberty hall, phenomenal meal, but i learned he no longer makes the french silk pie from pelican club. In the 14 years we've been going, never ate a mexican dinner in port a. the kids wanted mexican food, so I said, we have to try la playa. that place is legit! my big takeaway, I have never seen so many campers on the beach. tons of tents and travel trailers all the way to Cinnamon Shores. One site had four travel trailers. we were parking anywhere form marker 27 to 31, and we were on the beach before 9am each morning.
  8. hahaha! that is awesome! I was no where near that intersection on sunday.

  11. you're talking about doing the mayor's tri - the swim lanes are narrow, very difficult to pass. water is shallow, so if you get hung up you can walk while waiting to pass. don't try to learn a flying mount/dismount for the bike. run course goes north on taylor st, towards the trinity trails, you will will run down the big long hill, then you get to run up the big long hill. I don't know if they will allow you a 5 gal bucket to keep in the transition area. I cant remember if family and friends are allowed in the transition area, usually competitors only. i would suggest getting on youtube for transition set up and tips. you keep a space about the size of a golf towel for all your gear next to where your bike is located. put on and fasten your helmet first when in t1. take it off after you hang your bike when you return. study the transition area map. run in after swim, bike out/bike in, run out.
  12. same here... I went running this morning and ventured down foch. I saw the construction and said WTF, saw the sign for Texas Republic and said WTF is this. btw... my buddy claims the queso at Mesero is the best ever. I didn't order when I visited. Anyone tried it? I guess I'm going back very soon.

  16. For the Yukon I went with Continental CrossContac LX20. I'm on my second set. quiet. long lasting. handles great in wet conditions. best bang for the buck I found.

I read something about castaways moving into the phoenix spot, any truth to that? if so, the next question is, where is sushi dave?
  18. Went to Mesero in clearfork. Big props to the queso fundido, chihuahua cheese enchiladas, and their puerco pasilla cocido.

Our only use for Castaways was for boiled shrimp. the per pound price was the lowest I could find. Glad to hear Cancun is open, figured they would be ok considering their location. I'll be down next month. I booked a few months back, found a good deal on airbnb, prices are definitely higher than last year.
  20. I'm missing Utah, Nebraska, and Alaska. I did catch a connecting flight in Puerto Rico, on my way to the US Virgin Islands. Maine is a must. Portland and Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor are amazing places.
  21. the pencil artist is nuts, that is remarkable. fobots was cool, with her wizard of oz piece especially. i liked the glassweaver too. we let our kids spend $20-$30 each year. this year the daughter got a print of the colorful butterflies. son went with the graphite drawing of an owl. both of those artist were in Sundance sq.
  22. Damn that was impressive in both, male and female. Desi said she almost bailed out early in the race and the japanese dude closed 90 seconds with a 5k to go. i may have to hold out till i'm 60 or 65 before becoming a BQ, if the body holds up.
  23. at glance, i thought it said Majestic Nails, salon
  24. it's better to go next door to cook children's. especially for dinner options.
