  1. And the Marlins actually try to be shitty, so we are "competing" with a team that puts effort into dealing away their talent.
  2. The one bright spot for the team hurt. Ugh
  3. Anyone tried https://flaviar.com/ ?
  4. @TheFlagship Wasn't Buckel the kid that got the yips and completely lost the strike zone? Quick trip to the Googles, and I start typing in Cody Buckel and it auto completes with yips... https://www.ocregister.com/2017/03/21/pitcher-cody-buckel-his-career-derailed-by-the-yips-starting-over-with-angels/
  5. The first prospect that I remember caring about at all was Benji Gil. As the way with most prospects, he never amounted to much.
  6. This team is the anti-clutch.
  7. Remember when Perez was a hotshot prospect with TORP potential....ugh
  8. I think he needed 35 days in the minors, so should be able to come up the first week of May.
  9. Training for my first run, the Garden of the Gods 10k in June. I'm going from zero running so doing a couch to 10k program. We shall see how it goes.

    Scotch

Goes for about $92 to $115 where I am, so I would say get a couple
  11. I learned my lesson with the Wheel of Time. Don't reread the series until the series is done. I can't tell you how many times I worked through the initial books. Thankfully with WoT, the early books were great, but a few too many braid tugs after a while. I'm not picking SOIAF again until he drops dead, and hopefully someone else finishes it. Although I'm doubtful that even happens as HBO will put a nice bow on everything.
  12. Altered Carbon is a great book if you like that sort of thing (I do), and the show was a fair representation. I enjoyed it, but, as with any book nerd, I wished it was closer to the text. It was never going to be though. It was close enough to keep my interest throughout. I'm curious if a second season gets the go ahead and how they handle it. Obviously easy to get a new full cast with the nature of the tech, but I wonder if they will take it to Sanction IV from Broken Angels or if they jump straight to the third book.
  13. I can't listen to the TV broadcast. As bad as what is being put on the field, what is in the booth is worse. Hell, I rather have Radigan back in there.
  14. Daniels has lost a lot of his supporting staff over the last few years, Preller & Servais come to mind immediately. It will be interesting to see if he can pull out another rebuild.
  15. It is going to be a long rebuild. We don’t have the assets on the farm or much worth trading for.
  16. I'm probably overreacting. This just seems like another swing and a miss for Daniels in trades for pitchers. Besides the obvious great move of getting Lee, I am not thinking of a good pitching trade off of the top of my head.
  17. Thanks @SKJ I'll try to check them out next time I am up in Denver. I'm down in the Springs, and I am on a few different lists for Blanton's availability.
  18. Hamels looks to be on the Jered Weaver career arc with his velocity and effectiveness unfortunately.
  19. Might be to make room for Perez instead though.
  20. Yeah, I think he will be shuffled upstairs after this season. It will be interesting to see who is the next (hopefully) coach.
  21. True. The sins of the team fall to the captain though, founded or not. At the end of the day, I think it is really more Hitchcock's system, the lack of another scoring line, and Bishop going down in no particular order.

    Pete Rose

I think there is a chance he gets in after he dies. Although I'm not heartbroken that he isn't in there now. When it comes to sports, there really is one major rule, don't get caught gambling. Everything else is variable and depends on the whims of the voters, and we already know that quite a few of the MLB voters are idiots.
  23. Beastmode Jaime would have been useful during that losing streak
