I think they had a great group of young minds with Daniels, Preller ,and Levine with a figurehead elder statesman in Ryan that worked great back then. When all of those pieces started to move away, the chemistry and energy just is no longer there.
Unless they go full Dyson from last year, they really only have up to go. The projected strengths of Diekman and Bush are definitely not living up to their projections so far.
And I do realize that we are a couple of weeks into the season, and conceivably, they could get their acts together, but I have zero optimism about this team.
I say deal Beltre as soon as we can for as good of a deal as possible. Float Choo to anyone who will listen and offer up to take on a chunk of his salary to try to get a halfway decent prospect in return. Move Gallo back to third. Bring up Guzman for first and Willie for DH, assuming service times are met for the extra year. Embrace the suck and go full rebuild.
@TheFlagship Wasn't Buckel the kid that got the yips and completely lost the strike zone?
Quick trip to the Googles, and I start typing in Cody Buckel and it auto completes with yips...

I learned my lesson with the Wheel of Time. Don't reread the series until the series is done. I can't tell you how many times I worked through the initial books. Thankfully with WoT, the early books were great, but a few too many braid tugs after a while. I'm not picking SOIAF again until he drops dead, and hopefully someone else finishes it. Although I'm doubtful that even happens as HBO will put a nice bow on everything.
Altered Carbon is a great book if you like that sort of thing (I do), and the show was a fair representation. I enjoyed it, but, as with any book nerd, I wished it was closer to the text. It was never going to be though. It was close enough to keep my interest throughout. I'm curious if a second season gets the go ahead and how they handle it. Obviously easy to get a new full cast with the nature of the tech, but I wonder if they will take it to Sanction IV from Broken Angels or if they jump straight to the third book.
I can't listen to the TV broadcast. As bad as what is being put on the field, what is in the booth is worse. Hell, I rather have Radigan back in there.
Daniels has lost a lot of his supporting staff over the last few years, Preller & Servais come to mind immediately. It will be interesting to see if he can pull out another rebuild.
I'm probably overreacting. This just seems like another swing and a miss for Daniels in trades for pitchers. Besides the obvious great move of getting Lee, I am not thinking of a good pitching trade off of the top of my head.
Thanks @SKJ I'll try to check them out next time I am up in Denver. I'm down in the Springs, and I am on a few different lists for Blanton's availability.
