  1. Lou’s grandson was a walk-on QB at UT and one time I was so fortunate to be in the locker room prior to KO/pregame and Lou gave the pre-game speech/talk. I was so fired up that in my 30s I wanted to slip on a uniform and run out there. I wish I could! Hook’em!!!
  2. Awesome - and thank you! Hook’em!!!
  3. Come on CTJ, the dude has talent off the charts. Surely someone besides a CC will give him a chance? Hook’em!!!
  4. I got blown up/torched in this exact thread yesterday. I couldn’t remember which one, as I’ve been off today and on Surly more than usual. All is well and that’s why I love Surly! Hook’em!!!
  5. Thank you for HR note #1 on situational awareness. Hook’em!!!
  6. I tried to edit, but it got deleted?? Anyways, cleaning the grooves on the irons and going through the golf bag pockets. Threw away year old trail mix and an unopened bottle of water. I did find a couple sleeves of “premium” golf balls during that process, so I have that going for me, which is nice. Hook’em!!!
  7. Listening to Jim Nance state a Titleist commercial makes me want to go out and play! He is such a great narrator. Many don’t know, but Jim played collegiate golf at Houston. He never made the traveling five, but Houston was very strong back then! You can google their roster from the early-mid 80s. I know it’s Hook’em!!!
  8. In the early 2000s LSU kicked Cecil Collins (RB) off their team, even though he lit up the TV screen his Freshman season. It was too much smoking pot or etc. Saban told him to hit the road so he landed a McNeese. Dude arrived on campus driving a huge Cadillac. Anyways two-three weeks into the season, the team flew home from a huge road win, App State or Youngstown St, but anyways after flying back to LC, he never left the airport parking lot. Let’s just say more than ounces of pot was found inside and in the trunk. His ass was passed out. He got kicked off the team of course. He was so good on film, I believe it was Jimmy Johnson (HC) with the Dolphins, drafted his ass in the 5th round. Didn’t even play a complete season before the draft. After really excelling in the preseason and a sure lock to be RB1, his dumb ass entered someone’s apartment, in his complex, and I think naked? Last I heard he was still incarcerated in Florida for something else. Hook’em!!!
  9. They’d have to double my salary to force me to live in B/CS, then I’d still have sleep on it. Hook’em!!!
  10. SA at the Rim had them all season. Just waiting to cash in I guess? Hook’em!!
  11. Earlier I forgot to mention, and sorry to derail the thread, but that guy that Lou Holtz came to Beaumont to see was a year ahead of me. Mical Padgett - linebacker late 80s-90s. He started for Dad as a Freshman and he’d already told David McWilliams what he had in HS. Dad was a roommate with David in the 60s. Lou came to speak at the TXHS coaching convention that summer and Lou actually remembered my Dad from DeSoto while he was at Arkansas during the 70s. Dad told him that he really needed to go see Mical, as he also knew David was ready to sign, just to give Mical that option. Hoookem!!!
  12. There was multiple seasons of that EMCC program on Netflix. Coach was a character and the Admin lady seemed to hold all of that shit together. Pretty good late night tv watching that didn’t disappoint a football guy. Hook’em!!!
  13. You are most likely correct. I did like that series on Netflix - Last Chance U or something like that. Hook’em!!!
  14. Pretty cool for those band kids and fans. Hook’em!!!
  15. Aarrgh - Thanks for the Pirate info. Swing your sword! Hook’em!!!
  16. Cook needs to come home and go to SMU or TCU for a year, succeed, then either portal or go to the league. Get right young man - so much potential sitting on the couch. Hook’em!!!
  17. I would take Marcus Freeman as the next Cowboys coach and sleep like a baby tonight. Hook’em!!!
  18. Thank you! Lou was so full of “one liners” that could create a book. He visited my Dad/HS my junior year, actually looking at another BMT area player, but I asked him what it would take to join a program like his? Straight to my face in Dad’s office, Lou said when you go to bed each night this year, one pray first, then tell your Mom to grab your feet and Dad grab your arms and pull, pull, pull! Hook’em!!!
  19. I have a sideline jacket/pullover Lou wore at ND, late 80 to early 90s. Houston Christian (private school) fund raiser, But anyways he was a shit at Arkansas, but I grew to love him and ND during my teenage years (80s). Dad would always tell me back then that you can still love the man, but not the program. Didn’t make sense back then either. Hook’em!!!
  20. Not just Crabtree, but the Bijan fumble on 1st in OT. Hook’em!!!
  21. Man - the “off season!” Phew, this thread is fire poker hot and I’m glad we’re not in a Wal-Mart parking lot discussing the future of 2025. Hook’em!!!
  22. Damn man - don’t day drink and go to games. My wife will attest. How I’ve been married for 30+ is ??? She’s the rock/foundation. Hook’em!!!
  23. I like the Cignetti prognosticators earlier in this thread. Old man’s IU team (not basketball) only lost to the two teams playing for the Championship tonight. Think on that coming from Indiana University. Hook’em!!!
  24. Love Sark! I appreciate everything he’s done to “right the ship” since Mack’s gravy trained last few years. Sark needs to hire a trusted, game plan implemented, OC to actually do the play calls. Sark is so great at culture building, recruiting, and a sideline Coach. Nothing wrong with relinquishing play calling duties to an OC. Hook’em!!!
  25. I always thought it was the insurance company, but thank you for explaining it to me, and I live in San Antonio. Hook’em!!!
