Wut
I’m staying away from that Troph and I’ve loved your comments/posts for years.

Someone usually posts the Monday PC, that is a feed that I can forward to others, as in my Dad. I send it to him as a text, which he understands and can just push “play”. I’m just glad he had a smart phone at 80+.

Fng thread! Already in the dog house with the “boss” week one! She didn’t like the comment of you can’t drink all day if you don’t start before College Game Day is over!
I had to sprinkle in some water bottles prior to the UT kick off! I’m so in trouble and this was against Rice! Too much pre-season build up?

You Tube feed ? Whoever usually does that, it’s much appreciated, as I’m a Spectrum “current victim,” as I have zero ESPN feeds, as of this post. No LHN or even SEC because of this! They have about until Wednesday to figure this shit out, as I’m not watching UT at Bama from my phone!

I do have a question for the more thoughtful (and concerned) Surly posters:
How is it possible that Coach Prime somehow put together a much more high-powered, better performing offense with clearly better players in 6 MONTHS than Sark has managed to do in his third year with unlimited resources, bottomless recruiting tools and almost all returning starters?
It’s ok TreatyOak. College Football is here and we’ll all live vicariously week to week!

Hell in JFM’s Heisman year they played two FCS schools. Look it up.

*New Mexico. But you're right. New Mexico might be the worst team in college football. Here is where they've finished in FEI the last 2 years: 128/131, 123/130.
The only 2 programs that might be worse are New Mexico State or UMASS. Shocking news that aggy also played UMASS last year.
Surprised aggy didn’t open up with a FCS school to break in the new era. Instead they chose a team that the top 25 FCS programs would beat.

That’s where we are headed. Hostile crowds from here on out. To include the leftover B-12 teams the rest of this season! Not even counting the annual tilt with ousux!

The best seats I’ve ever had for a college football game was with my Dad and I watching the early ‘80s Cotton Bowl vs Alabama. We were seated on the “50” first row of the upper deck, Bama side. Zero obstructed views throughout the game. He and I both kidded each other, as to who was on the 49 or 50, either side!
Tight win by the Horns was the icing on the cake!

It was a really tough call, as at least two weeks prior, I knew they were going to put them in the A/C, but with limited seating. My wife has said no more day games in September about three years ago. Since we most-likely wouldn’t even see him, we’d decided multiple weeks ago that we’d join him for a later game! Knowing my wife, we’d have left by HT anyways!
Supposedly, according to him we didn’t “miss” anything, as I only wanted a picture of him on the big board, but that didn’t happen.

Did they even mention the ‘63 Team, where a majority of them were at least with the SEZ suites? Instead of putting the Octogenarians on the field pre-game, they said they’d just take a group picture of them (inside) and put it on the big board. Dad said the picture never took place, but they were treated “very well” by the UT President, in his suite area, and we’re given parking passes close to the stadium.
He sat outside for a majority of the game and doesn’t recall if they were even mentioned being there during pre-game or game? They had a great time though and UT Admins really treated them well! He even got to meet the School President.
He said at halftime they recognized all of the National Champions from the last school year, which thankfully took quite a while, as UT was so successful in Spring sports!

Deion played NIL and the portal well. He also had the huge advantage of surprise. There was zero film to study. By the time USC, Oregon and AZ State face them it will be different. Colorado will be vastly better than last year, but they will finish somewhere in the mid PAC12.
The Buffs are going to make Nebby look “slow” and overmatched. This will continue into the CSU game in week 3.
The games after CSU, with a 3-0 start, is when we’ll really see if the Buffs didn’t just shock TCU and the nation, but see if the players/staff can make adjustments playing equal talent. Especially if they fall behind by like 10 pts in the 1st, can they come back?
IMO - Prime has so many staff members with NFL experience, I think they’ll be able to make scheme adjustments on the fly, but will the Buffs be able to do it? It’s going to be very interesting starting week 4. “All it takes” is beating one of those big P-12 programs early and look out! Easier said than done.

You’re ok with me, but I don’t know why that post was attached under mine, as I always end it with:

You should not post another post.
The latter portion paragraph wasn’t my post, as I was only talking about the OL’s showing in the first half, as even a kid in junior high would agree.

The old saying of last year’s team has no reference/recollection of this year’s team. Two totally different teams.

I love the confidence too, but how does the OL play to a “vanilla” game plan? OL got whipped in the 1st half - by Rice! Soul searching this week!
Hook’em!!! -
I was more impressed by Colorado’s offense than our offensive showing today. I understand “vanilla” in week one with a big opponent next week, but our OL looked BAD vs a scrappy Rice team. Not really something to hang your hat on.

Going forward, at least the temps will be cooler for Hunter, especially home games.
Hook’em!!! -
Sanders and Hunter (120 snaps are you fucking kidding me?) lived up to expectations but Edwards was a fucking beast.
Travis Hunter is legit! Over 100 snaps on both O and D, mind you it was probably over 100 degrees in FW. He was amazing, even on his incompletions. Props to him!
Sanders Jr (QB) definitely exceeded expectations! Going from the SWAC to today, the stage wasn’t too big for him! Props to him!!
It was an amazing offensive display by the Buffs.

Fucking OPI call takes points off the board after they've gotten away with murder. I see you, Big 12.
It isn’t going to get any better as the season progresses. We have to really win each play on both O and D throughout the season. Something that can’t be overruled by replay.

Whipped by Rice’s front (UT OL) during the first half didn’t allow Texas to establish the running or passing game. It’s like they were going through the motions and “practice” was tougher than what they’d expect from Rice. That’s how teams lose to lower “caliber” teams, but look great vs good teams!
OL needs a kick in the ass prior to next weekend! If it weren’t for the Defense, this game would be more close than we want, as if it isn’t already!

Week 2, 2023: Texas @ Alabama

I basically said that after the 1st half vs Rice. OL needs a kick in the ass for next Saturday or it might be a long day. They played “better” vs Bama, as Freshmen, than they did vs Rice two days ago, so I digress.
