  1. ~1/3 of OSU’s pass total happened on the last play of the 1st half. It’s actually amazing that it wasn’t reviewed as “lineman downfield,” because on initial viewing, that was the first thing I thought, as I saw three down field blockers. I just couldn’t verify if the RB was behind the LOS at the time. The 3 OL were at least +5 downfield and that call is on the Side Judge. I was at my BIL’s (non-football guy, but UT Alum), so he wouldn’t understand why I would want to review a play/DVR for my conscious. I did holler it at the TV though, which I then had to explain the rule. Hook’em!!!
  2. And I agree with you on the “gray area” of an officials thinking. The only problem is it only takes one official to see it, throw a flag, and it’s not reviewable. It can, however, be overruled by the white hat, which this wasn’t. Hook’em!!!
  3. In the Michigan game, he pointed directly at the player he beat for the EZ catch. It’s the same as tossing the ball to the opponent or holding it in front of his face - post play. Hook’em!!!
  4. Quinn helped “right the ship” post 5-7. Many forget he skipped his Senior (seasoning) year as a QB in HS to go to OSU. Very little actual plays, outside of practice, while at OSU he was really still like a true really hyped Freshman when he came to the 40. Quinn helped rally the troops, get some better recruits, and started the foundation of where we are today. Remember when Bama came to Austin and he was lighting them up, prior to his sack/injury! Each year at UT, healthy Spring/Fall camp showed improvements in Quinn, but each consecutive seasons involved injuries where he missed time/games. This year the oblique was worse than let on (no deep balls) and then the ankle. It wasn’t until the post season that he was almost 100%. I wish him nothing but the best for his future playing career and thank him for what he did wearing the Burnt Orange! Hook’em!!!
  5. Wrong - slow mo, which the TV ref had time during the review for possible fumble, should’ve buzzed in and said we had targeting on #8, plus no fumble. IMO. Hook’em!!!
  6. Plain and simple, it’s considered taunting. The same would’ve been (hypothetically) if a defender sacked Ewers and threw the “Horns down” or “throat slash” in Ewers face - post play. Hook’em!!!
  7. So ready for Arch to take control of the offense and team. The play tonight that he ran for the first, while reviewing it for a possible fumble, the dumb asses didn’t “think” to possibly review that play for targeting? It was never mentioned as a possibility by the TV crew, as I kept hollering that they were looking for the wrong thing. I really think Arch was concussed by that blow to the back of his head and that’s why Sark didn’t send him in there when we had the ball under 3:00 with 1st and Goal. Hook’em!!!
  8. Gunnar isn’t the reason we lost this game by any means, but his “finger pointing” to a defender during the Michigan game, I stated here that he was very lucky to have not caused the team a “post-play” unsportsmanlike 15 yard penalty. Many on here thought I was ridiculous at the time, even though I officiated TXHSFB for almost decade. I would’ve flagged him! At that time and game the opponent would have the choice to enforce the 15 on the try or KO. Today it was still a 1st, but erased the gain - 15 yards! You will never know the future repercussions of the “next play” until it occurs. Fortunately it was a great pass/catch to make up the yards, but man, all you had to do was not point at the defender you blew up. Hook’em!!!
  9. Great job ND Joe. Hopefully we’ll see y’all on the 20th. Hook’em!!!
  10. Nothing like a “beer run” at 10:00 on a work night! Been there and done that. That’s why I implemented a garage fridge about 5 years ago. Hook’em!!!
  11. Maybe he’ll get to play against the Horns like the Clemson QB? Hook’em!!!
  12. ND Joe - so you say there’s a chance? Hook’em!!!
  13. Rooting for you and the Irish ND Joe, at least until the 20th. I had ND vs Texas in my CFB bracket on ESPN this year. Hook’em!!!
  14. The “fire proof” safes, which my guns are stored, are most likely the only standing objects in that disaster. Sad to say but true. Millions+ $$$ homes, with a standing safe is a target for many. Not just guns, but jewelry and cash. LA County SD should be on major patrol for the areas already wiped out. Hook’em!!!
  15. I remember in Elementary school the local HS booster club provided paper school book covers for school/team/town spirit. Talking mid-late 70s. Hook’em!!!
  16. I really think after the ‘25 season ESPN will force them to with the $$$ offering. Their long standing “cupcake” November game will be filled with a SEC foe. Hook’em!!!
  17. The Dick’s Sporting Goods in SA (Rim) is very similar, if not on a larger scale. The whole front entrance is tables and racks in the middle isle full of UT stuff. You have to go to the back of the store to find aggy gear, close to their NFL offerings. Hook’em!!!
  18. Nail appointments can wait until the weekend. Hook’em!!!
  19. So you say there’s a chance? Hook’em!!!
  20. If from SA or West Austin, 281 then over to Cleburne is the ticket. Then take the CTPkwy over to Arlington. Beats messing with coming in from 35 (Dallas). Hook’em!!!
  21. Nice “gap filler” by the NCAA, scheduling this Championship during the first free Monday from NFL and CFB playoffs. Great game so far! Hook’em!!!
  22. Texas = 34 OSU = 31 Texas offense = 393 Hook’em!!!
  23. I was in my mother’s belly on that date, with both Mom and Dad attending the Cotton Bowl. Born in 3/70. Hook’em!!!
  24. These were from when Washington State and The Pirate played in the Alamo Bowl. Son and I knew we had row 1 behind the WSU bench, but never got Mike’s attention (that we know of). Showed the sign to Tom Luginbill (sp?) ESPN sideline reporter and he just shook his head. Hook’em!!!
