The absolute best parts of Bilbo's su shine pumping is how he always sprinkles in 10 win predictions, he is always hedging them of course, always calling it a ceiling of course, but it is always there for the flavoraide drinking morons. Nevermind that this has only happened once in the entire 21st century, we are a quarter done with it. Bilbo the “sous vide” chef. Hook’em!!!
This late into Spring ball and going to a new offense/team, he might’ve bit off more than Nico can chew. He might end up at somewhere like Fresno or San Diego State. Hook’em!!!
The guy with the wrist tape and hand on hip (right side) is my Dad. That was a picture of them waiting on the results of the coin flip vs OU in ‘63. OU actually entered the weekend #1 vs Texas #2. That was the last time both teams entered that weekend in October: #1 vs #2. Hook’em!!!
Just like when they said Wilfred Brimley was only 50 (Cocoon) when they made that movie. Man I feel old, but don’t look like he did - IMO, and I’m 55. Hook’em!!!
DKR was still figuring out “the look,” as #’s stayed on top until around ‘67. They were gone by game photos in ‘68. 1969 had the 100 FB above, celebrating 100 years of CFB. Then the numbers were on the back and stayed. ‘61 was the last season where they even had an orange stripe down the middle. Cotton Bowl vs Ole Miss - ‘61 season. Hook’em!!!
His era only had “Texas” on the front of publicity jerseys or those for individual pictures to send home, previous HS, or media. The game worn jerseys did NOT have “Texas” on the front. Hook’em!!!
My Dad, who played for UT and DKR (60-63’) already thinks the current uniforms look like NASCAR drivers running around on the TV screen, as too many patches/logos on the front of jerseys. Hook’em!!!
It’s all internet fake wish casting by a few. CDC already stated NO. Next will be the black or burnt orange helmets with a corresponding uniform graphic online. Our logo and school trademarked colors, while historic, classic, unique, and prideful. They both really only go back to the recent living/current generation that contained DKR and his era at the helm of The University of Texas. So roughly six to seven decades. Hook’em!!!
I’ll never forget the day he told me about a guy/tourist coming in from the River Walk with half a long neck beer lodged in his head just above the left eye. Damn near touching the brain barrier on X-rays. They saved his vision and he walked out 24 hours later with just stitches for the memory. Hook’em!!!
Son is an ER Nurse. The stories he tells after a few beers to lighten him up. His hospital is downtown SA (Alamo downtown), so he’s seen it all in his ~3 years there. He’s on 7-7 days now, but his night shift was the shit! Hook’em!!!
I only got in to UT because I had over 35 hours transferred from the University of Maryland. Thank you Uncle Sam, as I couldn’t get in to UT right out of HS. Hook’em!!!
Jail house recipe. I worked the 4-12 night shift at the Williamson County jail, as a student in Austin - 5 days a week. Prior military service got my foot in the door immediately, as I was a first time student at 25. Hook’em!!!
