  1. Coach GG is one of the most “real” people/coaches that I’ve ever encountered while being a referee. He is just a great guy and if I had a son during this timeframe, I’d love for him to play for Gary. He actually attended a co-worker’s son receiving his Boy Scout Eagle Badge event! Years after that kid graduated from HS, I told him during “pregame” how much that meant to that kid and his Dad. Wednesday of the following week, my co-worker said that Coach GG called his son at Arizona State (not a player) to check on him and see how he was doing in school, especially so far from home. Hook’em!!!
  2. Rooting for Jay, as their HC is an awesome person, let alone Coach of youngsters. Hook’em!!!
  3. 39 brings “preferred walk on” to a whole new level. Has to be parental donations to the aggy coffers, as the year he arrived, I’m willing to bet that there were at least 300 RBs in Texas alone, from 5A and below that were bigger, faster, and basically better than that chosen one. Hook’em!!!
  4. As a big aggy, he couldn’t advise them to go the Blinn JC route, in order for guaranteed acceptance to real aggy? At least they’d be in the area and surrounded by aggy. I’d have gone to Ole Miss too, if I had that option to get away from B/CS. Hook’em!!!
  5. Pimphand, even though I know it wasn’t verbatim, you got the the main points very well. “Fng aggy” is all I can add to that recount that I can type. Hook’em!!!
  6. A nice Carthage connection would be nice. If I’m the new aggy HC, I’d hire both Coach Surratt and Gary Joseph as Offense/Defense “analyst”. Let them both retire from TX public schools, then play them each 500K annually to straighten this shit out. Hell, after two plus years in the SEC, if the Horns are mediocre at best, the same applies to us! Hook’em!!!
  7. Fng edit. You didn’t read, as in my opinion Traylor would bring the best/immediate impact to aggy, unless they got somebody like Dabo. We’re all on the same team and I won’t lose sleep on either of their decisions going forward. Traylor is the best overall “Texas” bet for them, regarding TXHS FB coaches of over 40 years old that know Traylor. Just my opinion. Hook’em!!!
  8. That’s exactly why I’d prefer he go to Arky or MS State and prove himself over the next couple of years, before we “have” to bring someone else to coach the Horns, which I’ve explicitly said hope doesn’t need to happen. Hook’em!!!
  9. We’re all not going to be laughing when Jeff Traylor is high-fiving the “Milk Men” in the Endzone, wearing his burgundy addidas shoes, after beating our foes asses on a weekly basis. Hell his daughter already played volleyball at aggy, so he already has a little tie to aggy. Just saying! Hook’em!!!
  10. No just a 50+ year old guy, that’s been tuned into TXHS FB my whole life. But as I stated, it’s just my opinion. Years ago when Mack had troubles with Defense, and just let go of Many _iaz, I stated that he just needed to go to Katy and hire Gary Joseph, which was probably the best “defensive mind” in all of TXHS FB. Double his salary and get this shit figured out. Gary had seen all the latest of trends with, the Texas Spread/RPO, with his teams and TXHS football and could “scheme wise” shut that down! For almost a decade, the Horns just had players “out of place,” regardless of ability. Sometimes sane minds don’t think alike. Hook’em!!!
  11. I’d take Traylor and his knowledge of Texas, both HS and at the collegiate level, over Dan Lanning, if it was my checkbook stroking the checks. Hook’em!!!
  12. Army beat UTSA in week 2 or 3, after UTSA lost their QB. Army’s style of offensive couldn’t get off the field that night. They (Army) went the rest of their season, prior to seeing their 3rd victory, until playing an undefeated Air Force squad, in Broncos Stadium (Denver) two weeks ago. I digress. Hook’em!!!
  13. I hope Traylor takes the Arky or Miss State job, so if he does “well” there, and God forbids Sark Fng flames out in two years of the SEC, we can go get Traylor and bring him home! It has to be quick though as he’ll be hitting 60 in age by then! You want your “successful” Coach to have 10+ years in your program. Hook’em!!!
  14. You’re wrong there. Charlie talked him out of being a TXHS FB Coach to join his MFng dysfunctional staff! He left that successful career to join Charlie and the Longhorns! After the CS debacle, he sought other collegiate positions, because at least they all paid a lot more than he was making as a HC in TXHS FB. So now the guy is trapped after following Chad Morris to Arky. We all know how that ended, but at least his bank account was thicker than it’d be staying in Gilmer. The dude can coach and basically resurrected UTSA’s program from nothing. Hell, whoever gets the aggy job, if they don’t reach out to him to be “named Asst HC, OC, or DC, would be a mistake. Maybe that person won’t, because they know he’ll be the next in line to take over. Hook’em!!!
  15. Well you’re dealing with Fall colors, so you make brown and Orange exciting, like the Cleveland Browns. Having said that, I did like the Browns, as a youth, when they played on painted dirt fields in the 80’s, wearing all-whites! Hook’em!!!
  16. IMO - I hope Traylor takes the Arky or Miss State jobs and after two years and he’s done “well” for them there and “IF” Sark “flames out” after his 2nd year in the SEC, we go straight to him. Hook’em!!!
  17. If I were aggy, I’d go straight for Dabo Sweeney and “steal” him from Clemson. Two-time NC Coach, which will check most of the “donor’s” boxes, as well as let aggy puff out their chest, as they stole another NC HC! Plus he’s already damned near the closest to their “culture” that they’ll ever find, besides Rick Perry. If Dabo gives a strong “NO,” they have to go with Traylor, IMO. He’d be the best “immediate” fit and won’t break the bank. He’s currently making Hook’em!!!
  18. That’s truly ridiculous with all the 5-6A stadiums that should’ve been considered within a radius of both of those two teams. Even playing a game around 45 miles of one and 60 of the other, should’ve been considered. I digress, as UIL/TASO sends officiating crews hundreds of miles out of their “local” area to officiate a first or second round playoff game. Nothing like officiating a game during week 1 or 2 and you’re assigned (from SA) to officiate a game in EP or Amarillo and it’s a game of 9-1 vs 5-5, or etc! The admins need to really crack down on that during these first two weeks, as it’s absurd. I totally understand having a regional semi-final or Final, where the game is in Waco and they chose a Houston or SA chapter to do that game. A couple years ago, my crew had to go to the Southern Boot (B-Ville) to officiate a 1st week playoff game, as both HC didn’t want “local” referees. That shit takes time and $$$ for those involved, as hell I had to take the day off from work, so we could be down there early enough, and we’re from SA!!! Hook’em!!!
  19. They now have their built in excuse for their loss to us next year, as it’s the new staff’s first year. Just wait until next year - as it’s always next year! Hook’em!!!
  20. That’s pretty funny how “Texas is shaking in their boots” right now. Only aggy to come up with that script/mindset. Hook’em!!!
  21. If I’m Jimbo, I’m collecting checks in Cabo or Hawaii through the end of the year/holidays. Let the media “suck it” trying to get a comment. Hook’em!!!
  22. Plus the fact that aggy has a built in excuse for their loss to the Horns next year. 1st year HC, so we’ll beat them next year. It’s always next year. Hook’em!!!
  23. My favorite ISU gif over the years. It’s like she just finished the half time speech, saying something like “just go out there and FINISH them!” Hook’em!!!
  24. That Knox City guy is a true fan that most schools would love to have. I bet he’s there for Spring sports as well, both boys and girls! He’s a true gem to HS sports! Hats off to him for his decades of commitment to the KC program, even though it’s on the smallest of scales. Hook’em!!!
