  1. That was fucking nuts. Mortar shell firework or flash bang tossed in the lobby right in the middle of the cops
  2. My best friend’s sister was killed by her husband. He shot her, set the house on fire, then killed himself. Thank god he did this while their two young kids were gone. Sad, shitty situation.
  3. I'm looking to install a gate on the sides of the house to keep the dogs contained to the main back yard area and prevent them from digging/playing in the mud. Once side stays mushy due to the neighbor's pool system, and the other goes from mud to concrete depending on the weather and neither side gets a ton of good light. I assume those conditions are why we dont get any grass to grow in those areas. Anyway...I'm just looking for some ideas/suggestions on how to approach it to get something in place. I don't need full privacy fence/gate height, and i don't really care if we go wood or metal. This is a rent house, so i'm looking for something fairly painless that looks half way decent. First side can be seen here. Challenges are how we connect/butt to the house, and the fact that the fence post (entire fence on this side, really) is garbage. I'm going to have to sink something here and not use the existing post. Width is 80 inches and it's straight across. Second side might be a bit easier. I've got a solid metal post I can attach to and run to the corner of the house. 55" gap here, and slight 6" angle from post to corner. I was thinking a single swing gate off of the metal pole might work.
  4. Looks like the auto renew probably failed. Your shits still encrypted. No hackers this time.
  5. TIL mariachi is a UIL event. For some reason I find that fucking awesome.
  6. Do we have any trainers in the mix? We’ve noticed the younger pup display some signs of aggression when playing. Things will be going along fine, then she’ll kind of lose her mind and start growling/biting and has a hard time stopping. She latched on to my wife pretty good and noise/scruff grabbing didn’t really seem to reset her or snap her out of it. The other pup biting down on her doesn’t seem to inhibit it either. like I said, 95% of the time she is fine, and we’re not sure if this is just normal behavior or something to be worried about. Never had a pup lose its mind. I can start a new thread if this isn’t the place for it.
  7. That’s awesome! We are going to ship these turds off to obedience school at 6 months. we know they require that extra attention but so far seem to be pretty smart I figure the more we challenge them, the better. Daughter is 16. She’s bilateral implanted since she was ~18 months. Does great, but mornings are a bitch sometimes. Her bed shaker wakes us up across the house but she sleeps through it. Would be interesting to see if we could train the dog to react to an alarm clock initially. she keeps her processors on all day, unless she’s in the bath or sleeping. Those are the times she could use the extra set of ears. Especially if when we boot her out of the house
  8. I’m curious how the dog was trained for hearing assistance. What could it do? Daughter has bilateral cochlear implants and we just acquired a pair of pups. Might be cool to try and teach them a few thing to help her out when she isn’t wearing her processors. I know it’s probably a lot more complicated, so mainly just curious how it helped you. That gets me to my first contribution on this thread. I’ve got an old pal Rocky on his deathbed and we just added a pair of Dalmatians to the house. We’re fucking doomed! Meet Doc and Ginger. Doc is 12 weeks and Ginger is just shy of 8. Covid quarantine just got a lot more interesting at our place.
  9. Made it through An hour or two. Every time a scene would fade to black, I was hoping it was going to come up and say an 18 wheeler took them out.
  10. Damn man. I’m sorry you’re going through that. My Rocky is a 14 year old Boston Terrier and we’re days or weeks away from doing the same thing. He’s nearly blind from glaucoma, deaf, arthritis in his back and very unsteady on his feet. He’s to the point we have to hand feed him and he sleeps most of the time. Others he will get ‘lost’ in a room and just whine. I really don’t know how to make the decision. Every now and then he gets a little chipper and throws me off. How the hell do you know when it is time?
  11. I’m curious on this too. Need to go look at 18 return and see where we fall but no clue what line to look at for married filing jointly.
  12. So wife has been feeling a little off and came down with slight fever (100.9) and is freaking out. She’s Wondering if we need to sleep in different rooms. It seems like if it’s Covid, I’m already screwed since we’ve been in close contact.
  13. You realize that there is indeed a penalty for failing a drug test for weed, right? It just doesn’t result in lost game time. Instead you get to play for free. The fines associated with multiple failures are pretty extensive.
  14. I don’t want to pile on but anyone with rdp open to the internet is just asking to get pwned. If you are doing this, you will be compromised at some point, assuming you aren’t already. This is security 101 and why things like VPN exist. sorry for your hell week. It’s a bitch, and much more sophisticated setups have been hacked.
  15. IP is assigned to the adapter not the network (SSID). Will need to set dns and gateway as well. Not a clean fix if he moves around. make sure ‘automatically connect’ is checked and look at the advanced powe/sleep setting for the wifi adapter
  16. If you’re strapped for cash or a really small shop, Go get Veeam community edition and back up to an external hard drive. Disconnect it from the computer and boom! Air gapped backup. Veeam is pretty damn simple to use too.
