  1. It’s an incredible feeling for someone who had a single conference win all 4 years I was there! Then blissgate the year after I graduated.
  2. I can’t think of any new impact players other than this backup qb who redshirted last year. Well and the kicker (who had negative impact).
  3. Reddit is saying it’s not against the rules in cfb to call timeout when you don’t have any. Refs are supposed to know how many they have and ignore the request if none remain. Had no idea.
  4. You did. Have fun losing to aggy.
  5. I'm not big on getting gifts, but I do love shopping, and my girlfriends often ask me to pass along their wish list items to their husbands, so I thought one of you guys might want to take a look at what 30-40ish basic bitches are asking for this Christmas. For the hi-tech hottie the new iphone stainless steel apple watch band (bracelet or mesh) a legit power bank a mechanical keyboard Samsung frame tv a hotspot from a different carrier than the one she has service with For the outdoorsy gal these towels from her favorite national park are a neat memento as would be this scratch-off poster this incredible new book of photos from my friend Earl Nottingham's 30 year career as Texas Parks and Wildlife photographer trekking poles have been super clutch for me as my knees start hurting on descent whilst hiking a fancy hoodie butterfly garden kit For the workout warrior Theragun or knockoff these super soft and flattering vuori joggers for lounging nice socks like Feetures for a stocking stuffer or my favorite ski socks apple watch 6 has all the fancy health metrics (oxygenation, sleep, etc) apple+ subscription (or something similar) For the sexy librarian a new novel (Here i'm not much help as I have become extremely picky, really disliking the last several authors my friends have raved about like Kristin Hannah, Celeste Ng, Laura Dave, etc. The last book I remember recommending was The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, and it was more that the premise was innovative and interesting and less that I was like, 'Wow this is a really great book.' I reread some classics with my kids in high school last year like Adventures of Huck Finn, Little Women, and Native Son and it made me regret every other book I've read lately. George Saunders's Tenth of December is several years old, but I really enjoyed that collection of short stories. a first edition of a beloved book a subscription to a magazine like NYT, the Atlantic, or Texas Monthly a membership to the Story Bound Society, a book subscription curated by my favorite book shop, Fabled in Waco. (I would be the guardian profile.) For the foodie a new cookbook (My girlfriends and I all love The Defined Dish, she also has a new cookbook coming out right after Christmas you can preorder, Ina Garten's Modern Comfort Food, or a Jamie Oliver book would be good.) not a cookbook but any foodie will love Gastro Obscura. a treat from Goldbelly (note that many restaurants, like Snow's bbq, ship directly themselves. and that's a better choice if available) an expensive olive oil or truffle oil a subscription to NYTCooking or Fine Cooking a nice cutting board For the fashionista a gift card to House of Colour to find out what her best colors are (this is a lot of fun and actually a great investment and can save money by teaching her what looks best, not an MLM a real franchise) a Dyson hair dryer Ugg slippers an everyday pendant to wear (inexpensive, moderate, expensive, wow) Note: if you're gonna spend >$100 i would invite your special lady friend to shop with you. No one will be disappointed to hear "let's go find something sparkly." For anyone something sweet or sentimental, personal to her (like a Cameo from Jared Butler, or a Cowtown Clay mail order kit, or a custom ornament with her childhood home) a weighted blanket a pretty planter with plant a graphic t-shirt patio lights or a fire pit eberjey pajamas a masterclass subscription the perfect t-shirt
  6. Where did y’all stay?
  7. Kimber modern would be perfect for this.
  8. Have I been pronouncing bilas wrong? It’s bill-us?
  9. Oh yeah it was baboontyme. I think I got to know him on trivia crack.
  10. Great game. I finally convinced husband to look into going to Bahamas next year for thanksgiving and now I find out Baylor is playing in Vegas next year instead which will be better basketball I guess but not as appealing locale. Who is the sparty fan I used to spar on the old site with?
  11. @lchorn I’m a fundraiser—HMU if you want to give to some well-deserving teachers a year end bonus!
  12. You’d have to give exactly at 7am on Tuesday 11/30 to be eligible for the match on Facebook.
  13. Any recs for our beach trip with friends next summer? All-inclusive adults only resorts (I prefer to stay at hotels and eat locally, but with this group I agree all-inclusive is much better) Shortish flights (<4 hours) from Dallas or Houston (bonus if direct from Austin) 5 diamond or above--we've liked Secrets Maroma, rooms were great, but I liked about 75% of the food there so don't want to go lower quality than Secrets Maroma no chance or low chance of saragassum What I'm finding from google is that the last two requirements are mutually exclusive (not a lot of highly rated all-inclusives to choose from on the west side of isla or cozumel). Any ideas?
  14. dead fish is a great setting with fantastic potential---way too spotty food-wise for me to ever be willing to take a chance on it though. alexander's in salado has a great ambience on the creek and much more reliably decent food.
  15. Whose wife is this?
  16. With good reason. There’s one table of 4, one table of 2, and seating for six at bars (3 sets of 2). I would think the outdoor experience would be extremely disappointing comparatively—the food is good but not amazing it’s more about the experience. Snacks on the table when seated were spicy pickles, togarashi popcorn and spicy pretzels. There’s no hard liquor but they have a big sake selection, champagne, red and white wine, and one beer (maybe called Orion?). First course cucumber gazpacho Second course tuna nigiri Third course creamed sesame spinach with mushrooms Fourth course can’t remember Fifth course giant prawns (2 each) with coconut sticky rice Sixth An amazing Panna cotta with strawberry lime and mint Seventh course a slice of pizza
  17. Tokyo record bar was really really fun. We loved it.
  18. Just had a great meal at Pasquale Jones. Tokyo record bar tomorrow.
  19. any restaurant recommendations for my 16 year old hipster-wannabe daughter and me for 2 weeks away? she's decently adventurous, but for her the decor/ambience will be more important than the food.
  20. In the triangle you clean them a little bit first—rip off eyes, top shell and clean out gills and lungs with cold water. Take out reproductive organs, and then rip them in half. Some people kind of precrack the claws too. Then dredge in zestful seasoning and deep fry. You have cayenne pepper in your cuticles for days.
  21. These look way more battered than mine. Before: After:
  22. i have a crab guy i drive to in killeen that i meet in the strip club parking lot. live blue crabs imported from the gulf almost every friday. papa jazzy takes good care of me (though he does think i'm insane to deep fry them). also crawfish, shrimp, oysters. super high quality. you must call ahead. https://www.facebook.com/papajazzysseafoodexpress
  23. My husband and I are about to begin remodeling the bathrooms on our 1971 ranch style home in Bell County. He wants to do shower only bathrooms since we only use the tub annually or so (when friends/family with babies come to stay with us), but I can’t imagine having a house without a single bathtub. Though I do concede his point that a bathroom remodel is only good for 10 years or so, and we don’t plan to sell in that time period, it seems silly to take one out to put one in if we sold. Any thoughts?
