  1. Seems like the TE position is going to leave its mark this year on the offense. 12 personnel is QE friend.
  2. Wow I am seeing it so differently. Sark is getting all the right things done. The only piece that seems questionable to me is his DC seems to be a misfit for our players, but we’ll see this year how that shakes out. A closer look at the W/L last year reveals that this team could easily have had a very good season. Casey’s hand injury and the handling of it were a big problem. We were dominating for the majority of the game in many of our losses. I know it’s loser speak, but there was good to be found and I expect a much better season this year. #YouthMovt
  3. It’s not bad and there is a certain kind of fondness for it because it has been consistent
  4. For longhorn games I’ll usually watch again in the morning while people are asleep and I’m sober. That’s how I get all my hot hot takes.
  5. Had kind of a chill nature to it. The theme song would come on at night on nick at night… It came on at like 11 or something. I remember passing out to that song lots of times.
  6. So sark is sitting around reading 9.95er reports? Is he on surly?
  7. Wow talk about a lucky shot. Lose all fight then rock the knock out
  8. Power belly. He’s running a caloric surplus to get through camp. Prob a good thing.
  9. He’s also got a ballsy gambler mentality. So ints will come with it. Having a guy that generates 3 and outs and kills our run game by never threatening the deep part of the field is worse than a gambler who hits tds and opens the run game but throws some ints. 60 td / 30 ints would be pretty fucking funny though.
  10. Red might have been right…. Charlie probably would be a good d coordinator…
  11. If those ints are on down field bombs then they are like punts…. Too much is made of ints. A 3 & out is a turnover too. Any drive that doesn’t score is a turnover.
  12. So given how wrong every site has been around the qb battle, I think we have to conclude that the practice reports are also suspect. Ewers is young and hasn’t played a lot of football, so sark can just play a lot of play action 12 sets where there is a read and dump. Easy football for ewers. It seems like sark is doing this coaching thing really well. Recruiting like a boss, breaking the 9.95 grip, handling NIL/boosters.
  13. Some things are more valuable than others when it comes to qb play. Even IF card checked off a lot of boxes for the dump off game and barking or whatever, those aren’t as important as deep ball accuracy. If we can hit the deep ball, we can keep the defense honest and run the ball. If all we can do is short /intermediate stuff and dump offs, we’ll get shut down bc everything is in the same place in the field. Hitting the deep ball is like having a big hog, it makes up for a lot of other deficiencies. I’m sure ewers will learn to dump it off when a play breaks down…
  14. Yes, but I imagine he has never played in a game that hasn’t seemed easy to him. That doesn’t exactly make practice seem super serious to a young kid.
  15. My guess is ewers practice habits suck bc he’s had too much practice time and not enough game time . Putting him in live fire situations will turn up the practice intensity. Talent comes is more important than practice intensity I think. Let the talent see first hand why practice matters by getting crushed by bama.
  16. The spring game showed it as well as anything we’ve seen, the arm talent jumps off the screen when ewers is in. What he needs is experience and practice reps. Hudson has experience and practice reps, and has a lot of talent himself, but he doesn’t stand tall in the face of pass rush, he too quickly resorts to a dump off pass/scramble. It’s ewers and we’re gonna have to take the lumps that come with zero experience. And we need card bc we have nothing behind him. So the situation needed to be handled carefully, which it was.
  17. From what I can see on the highlights…there is a certain type of development that ewers will only get from being in actual competition at this level. He needs to be at that speed. We’ll see if he really is a gamer, but I think some competition will bring out what he’s got in a way practice just can’t.
  18. If this is the expected outcome of naming card to start the season, because you can’t just give the qb job to the newcomer, then it is a retarded strategy bc it means ewers missed tons of reps and opportunities to be at his peak for the season. You pick your best player and you focus on him. I sure hope our coaches aren’t looking at bama as being lost already. We need a little dog in em.
  19. This is like last year but with the arky game, except if Casey had started we prob would have won.
  20. Fuck. Future man is saying card sucks and ewers is good? Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. We’re screwed. Our best oline prob isn’t the 1st team oline. It takes a process to get there I guess…
  21. That way ewers misses all the valuable camp reps with the 1s. So did I skim the reports right that card looked as good with the 1s as ewers did with the 2s in the scrimmage? Ewers problems need reps to fix, cards problems need a time machine.
  22. My recollection is Casey looked good until he hurt his thumb against ou in the 3rd qtr then after that he was struggling to throw for quite awhile
