  1. The pr folk for the Bob Dylan Center scored, placing an ad there with Chalamet doing Dylan songs and the interest in A Complete Unknown.
  2. On last night's SNL episode with Timothy Chalamet, they ran a commercial for the Bob Dylan Center in Tulsa. Smart aid placement, with Chalamet doing BD numbers and the success of A Complete Unknown.
  3. "You're an idiot, Babe, It's a wonder that you still know how to breathe."
  4. About the only thing I like about cold weather is the food. On Monday, the wife made tortilla soup, which was good for then and Tuesday. On Wednesday I did a pot of chili and the wife made cornbread, which we had that night. Today, we had chili over corn bread with cheese on top and faux frito pie (tortilla chips, as we didn't have Fritos). Had lots of chili left to freeze for the next cold spell. Maybe I'll make it to Spring.
  5. Had my first Monterrey Melt in ages the other day at WB in Bastrop. Hot and juicy. I had forgotten how good they were.
  6. Sister-in-law, niece, and their husbands evacuated their Altadena home last night. Currently holed up in a hotel near the Rose Bowl. Hopefully they won't have to move on from there.
  7. Agreed, both then and now. I would not have paid to see the David Clayton-Thomas BS&T, maybe the Al Kooper version. Couldn’t miss a chance to see Miles live. BB and Nina were a bonus.
  8. One of my worst was also one of my best. 4th Longhorn Jazz Festival at Memorial Auditorium in July of 1969. Blood Sweat and Tears couldn’t find one of their nine matching microphones and held the audience hostage for an hour waiting for the guilty party to return it. I don’t know if it showed up, but the show finally resumed. Childish behavior from supposed professionals. Great performances from Miles Davis (whom we came to see), Nina Simone, and Hugh Masekela, but the night was soured by BB&T antics.
  9. Doubt I'll make it until it streams, but will watch for it. Any serious Dylan fans need to spend a day in Tulsa at the Bob Dylan Center. As a bonus, the Woody Guthrie Center is next door.
  10. I range all the way from cassette tape recording to burning CDs, but made my biggest killing on Usenet news groups.
