  1. Saw him in the early '70s at Gregory Gym. Opening act was the Youngbloods. I think a lot were there to see the Youngbloods, mostly college students. Smashing show. He had the whole place really rocking by the end of the set. Quite a contrast in bands. Glad I got to see him live.
  2. Just finished the last of eight seasons of Still Game, a multiple UK award winning sitcom set in Glasgow, Scotland. Needs closed captions to help with translating some of the brogue, but very funny thirty minute episodes.
  3. Drove up the beach from Beach Rd 1A to Sandcastle Drive on Wednesday PM. Not real crowded and only saw one group of more than six who were probably not family. Weekends might be bad for a while.
  4. If she was older, she likely has all her passwords written down somewhere or a file with them. Or she only uses one or two. Is there someone she might have given passwords, financial info, etc. to? Everyone older should do this. Actually anyone can die unexpectedly anytime, so everyone should have some back up person/place.
  5. For those interested and willing to risk: https://www.portasouthjetty.com/articles/coronavirus-restrictions-on-hotels-beach-visits-to-be-lifted-in-port-aransas/ Note: State order against tourist travel still in effect through Thursday.
  6. Long time ago. Ronnie, Ronnie, and Mac:
  7. I was 10 going on 11 when this happened. It was all over the news. Maybe my first introduction to how evil people can be.
  8. Benidorm is a hilarious, bawdy, English comedy I watch on BritBox. I just noticed it is on youtube.com. I don't know about premium youtube. Not advisable to watch with young uns in the room. Definitely NSFW or kiddies.
  9. Larry Campbell Doing better at last count.
  10. For Ricky Gervais fans, he and Stephen Merchant have one on Amazon called Life's Too Short. Centered around British dwarf Warwick Davis, but has a real Gervais sense of humor to it. Unfortunately, only seven thirty minute episodes.
  11. Netflix has a great documentary on Miles called Birth of the Cool. Check it out.
  12. Wonderful version of Autumn Leaves. One of my favorite albums.
  13. Just watched the documentary Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool. Well done. I was more a fan of the Sketches in Spain to Quiet Nights era, and I didn't care as much for Bitches Brew onward, so I learned a lot about him in those days. I had turned my interest more to Folk, Rock, and Country by that time, so I didn't pay much attention to his music anymore. Also love the Birth of the Cool sessions.
  14. The story was well reported on TV and in the paper for those of us adults in Austin at the time. The crime of this is the unevenness of justice for Christian and young people of color (or poor whites) of the same age who paid much more severely for lesser or the same crimes. Tried "as an adult." Texas and America still shows no shame over the way the system has been stacked for wealth and white privilege. Maybe Christian was treated right. But we KKK'd a lot of other youth. Free Lee Otis. (not a juvenile)
  15. We like the Liberty Creek Cabernet Sauvignon we buy at HEB. $6.95 or so for 1.5 L. Artificial corks, but not screw caps.
  16. Charles Maund Toyota went from bad to worse. I kinda liked Ara Celi in his ads and could barely tolerate old Randy Knaps. At least you could laugh at him. The new, younger girl who replaced him is almost as detestable as Emily Giangreco on KVUE sports.
  17. I don't know why they call them "heirloom", but we've found they're one of the best reasonably priced small oranges. Probably just a marketing description, but we buy them when available.
  18. Also I've Been Loving You Too Long. Too bad many only know him from Sitting on the Dock. He was a magnificent singer/performer.
  19. Okies (generically). Per Woody G, "Oklahoma, Kansas, Georgia, Tennessee". Mebbe not Kansas, but you get the drift.
  20. When we would say "hey!", my mom would always say "Hay's cheaper than corn." Never really understood what it meant, other than hay is really cheaper than corn. Oh - and if we asked "Why" about something, she would say "Cat fur, want a pair of kitten britches?" Doesn't make a lot of sense either. It was when we asked "What for?" (said what fur?) that she would answer about the kitten britches, which makes more sense.
