  1. I think both teams have a bye this week to recover from injuries and bruised egos and leaking floorboards before the Battle for the Floyd of Rosedale!
  2. Illinois kept the game close into the fourth quarter against Penn St, but they pulled away late. Lovie still has a good shot in the B1G West if they can beat Wisconsin.
  3. Really out of line for Wendy's to take a side of something like this.
  4. I just heard about this guy but all that matters is that he doesn't take a knee and ruin the Super Bowl for everyone.
  5. Oh man, the whole crazy uniform thing back at Oregon is starting to make sense. If Chip could get five star guys who grew up in the LA Coliseum parking lot to leave South Central and join him in Oregon but now he can't get them to travel across town. Obviously it was the uniforms up in Eugene. There is only one solution: total-insantiy-do-anything-to-land-a-recruit uniform designs for UCLA.
  6. I remember his first game at Oregon when they lost to Boise and that one guy punched one of the Broncos after the game and everyone thought Chip was in over his head.
  7. Possible game of the year type finish on the way at Soldier Field in Chicago.
  8. Lovie Smith is really Lovie-ing his trip back to Soldier field, he has never seen it quite like this before.
  9. A lot of coaches have that same philosophy of playing offense to win the game and not necessarily to score points in every possession. sometimes they say it differently like you throw the ball to score points and run the ball to win the game. Its an NFL type of thinking, keep the game close and make some plays to win at the end, don't turn the ball over, the quarterback that throws the least interceptions wins nearly every game no matter what kind of scheme the two teams are running. If you play mistake free football you can keep the game close in almost any contest.
  10. Yes, when he wins the Pac 12 Championship game the thread title will hold up.
  11. I didn't wait for the game to be over last night when I sent in my top 25 teams to the AP so I had MSU ranked ahead of ASU. But its not a big deal because I will make up for it some time later in the season.
  12. Wow, what a way to end the first half. I have never seen anything like it. I guess Herm is inside the other guys head or something.
  13. The Hermanator is mic-ed up for the game tonight, He was shouting "Leave It On The Grass!" over and over again when his team was getting ready to run onto the field.
  14. A devastating blow the the championship hopes of the Fighting Illini, Mike Dudek is injured and out for the season.
  15. I remember but now the 2014 trip to a strip club in some odd state somewhere has a difference significance.
  16. I was looking up the box score and stat sheet for the opening game against Iowa Western, then I noticed who their quarterback was.
  17. really inspiring to see the group of young men battle through the adversity and get past all the distractions to settle it on the field this week its what football is all about
  18. This is one of those rivalries where both fan bases insist its not a rivalry but still get really angry when the other school is mentioned and can rattle of endless statistics and minutae of the series.
  19. I didn't see a game thread for some reason I guess but Kent State v Illinois is a real barn burner going down to the finish. Nothing else is going on right now so you guys have no excuses not to watch.
  20. Frost still has elibigility left after the new rule changes involving people in red shirts.
  21. I was thinking of bringing it up on the thread on the old board, but I never got around to it. One of the biggest days of Coach Novak's time at Northern Illinois was a big upset over Alabama in 2003, the game was remembered for the running back Michael Burner Turner having a day and the NIU defense really shutting down the Mike Shula offense. The Alabama team was ranked at the time, but their season fell down pretty quick and the rest of Shula's time at Bama is mostly forgotten. But the game write ups still on the internet seem to quote the same obscure wide receiver for the Huskies: "https://rolltide.com/news/2003/9/21/Northern_Illinois_Defeats_No_21_Alabama_19_16.aspx Northern Illinois has blocked 13 kicks in its past 16 games. "I really don't think they respected us as much as they should have," Huskies receiver P.J. Fleck said. "Sometimes the most talented teams don't win football games, and I really think they're more athletic. "But it's the team." http://www.espn.com/college-football/recap?gameId=232630333
  22. I was thinking about starting a new thread about the music of Steven Halpern, but I figured it might fit into this thread. I obsess over lots of music that only really appeals to people who have literally listened to everything already, and the stuff people follow gets pretty far out. If you do a search for Private Issue New Age or PINA you will see some of it. Anyway, behold the glory of Steven Halpern: I will post some of his crystal healing music videos later
  23. I have this weird thing for the generic music that plays in the background of the selection screen, its like a generic theme for each category of show or movie.
