  1. The credit to Sark for finally recruiting OL other programs actually wanted, was well deserved. When Banks' fellow OL class members get up to speed, that will be a huge difference. DL recruiting and LB recruiting while improving, needs to bump it up. I don't know if PK's schemes are hard to recruit to, or if we don't have enough solid recruiters on the D side. Whatever the deficit, I would hope it gets addressed soon. A strong argument that we are closer than we've been in a long time is what most of the last few pages are to me. Likewise, the remaining depth issues and lack of top shelf talent at some very important positions was fleshed out in detail. And even the lack of experience at essential positions where we have top shelf talent (QB, LT) was pointed out. I would say the greater weight of relevant evidence suggests we should drink alcohol, and be optimists. I think my wife will keep watching games with me if I stop yelling "what the fuck is this shit?" at the TV, and just grin and drink. The future looks, well, not dark.
  2. Fair enough. Didn't think about it that way, but he followed a dynasty based on evaluation and developement of less heralded talent. So it actually supports the accumulation of talent is the essence argument. Understand, I don't want to argue, but in my struggle to understand and perhaps remain optimistic, I need insight from people who, like me, believe changing coaches every three seasons will only prolong the walk in the wilderness. If nothing else, Sark seems to understand how to do the culture, playing for each other, team members being team leaders things.
  3. If the secret is really amassing talent over a number of seasons, how do you explain Klieman who took over in 2019, I think, and Sonny Dykes who took over in 2021. They seem to be doing pretty well. I can buy that they may have more experience on their teams (although I don't know if that's true) but it seems difficult to believe there was a ton of amassed talent at either school. Maybe I underestimate how badly depleted the roster enherited by Sark was. But I see other schools not stumbling out the gate and I want nice things too.
  4. I want to believe every word of this. I do. I hope PK can get his end of it straightened out. Hopefully there is talent coming on that side of the ball too. I'm going to send my letter to Santa now.
  5. Pretty much where I am. I listen to the guy, and he seems rational and focused. His play calling makes sense. He isn't just thumbing through the playbook picking at random. He seems to get addled when shit goes south on him. But running him off to try the next guy, according to our recent history, isn't a good strategy either.
  6. Wouldn't this depend, to some degree, on who was available and willing to take the job?
  7. OK. That makes sense. I doubt CDC wants another regime change, but if that's the direction it has to go, he should have solid intel. If it's true that Sark wasn't CDC's choice, the dynamics of the whole thing are really weird. Who is running the asylum?
  8. Patterson is on the staff doing whatever it is he does. Wouldn't it be amazing to get him to sit down at a park bench or other microphone resistant place, and tell you what he sees? You could ask him point blank, in your opinion, does Sark have "it"? Is it just more time he needs, or is this it? He could say the guy is the truth and he will get it and he's moving in the right direction. Or, he could whistle through his teeth and spit, before responding, and you'd know we are fucked. I'm not saying Patterson is the final say in NCAA coaching, but he has demonstrated prowess at a high level. That isn't going to happen to any of us. But surely it happens or will happen with CDC. Right? I mean, they know each other quite well. They both have a common interest. Am I way off? If CDC doesn't inititate this conversation, why doesn't he? Or maybe it has happened or happens every Saturday night or Sunday morning. The fact that Patterson has openly denied any interest in DC or HC jobs makes his opinion less biased by self interest. Is that how it works? I'm not sure that's how it works.
  9. Actually, you guys pay a huge amount of rent, more every year, for a dwindling, tiny little bit of real estate. Judge is the last out on a dribbler back to the mound=impotent limp dick. Take the loss, pussy.
  10. Snap! Closing argument: Now your honor, it's easy to look at the record. But what's really important is that my client shows up every day with a good attitude, and the culture at the crack house has really progressed...
  11. "It's easy to look at the record." Yes, coach. It is very easy for us to look at the record. It is easy for everyone to look at the record. Speaking for everyone who is aware of the existence of college football, the record is somewhat important. Your record, it is not so great, coach. It is easy to look at your record and see that. The problem for me now is that even if he were to come out and beat KU, I woluld really have no idea what that means. I need to see consistent, upward trends, even if not winning every game. This team is all over the place, week to week. If the team is a reflection of the coach, Sark is schitzophrenic.
  12. I tend to agree. We didn't need lazer guided bombs when our running game was clicking. Just the possibilty of completions to keep them honest. When they realized we were one diminsional, it got ugly.
  13. If Ewers and Card are playing their best games it's not even a question, but who was helped by leaving Ewers in for the entire game, other than OSU? Card could have pulled the ball down and picked up 8 or 10 yards on the ground and kept drives alive. I don't know if we would have won, but I don't see why you leave Ewers in to struggle that long. I get the need to let them learn how to overcome adversity, but that wasn't going to happen, today. It's like leaving a starter in to finish an inning when everyone can see he's gassed. Maybe that's not the correct way to see it and I don't know shit aout coaching college football but at a point it was clear Quinn was MIA.
  14. He landed that back flip on his toes. I see kids do that and it always looks like it was a close call as to whether they'd complete it, but this kid looked like a gymnist. A big, strong, fast gymnist. Very impressive.
  15. So this staff is doing better at recruiting defense than the previous staff? That's a good thing, then.
  16. Why is the recruiting on offense better than on defense? Is it wanting to play in Sark's offense and not really knowing who PK is? Is it poor recuiting on the D side? What teams are more attractive for defensive elite and why? I would think Sark would be asking himself these questions.
  17. Running fucking open with DBs watching the catch. This has to be addressed. 3rd sown ins jsut another down
  18. You got it wrong there sport. I don't care that the Astros are hated. I love the hate. I love how the Horns down is thrown up at games we are not even involved in. What's your problem, anyway? Are you just venting the frustration that will come wihen you and your Yankees watch the series from the couch? Everyone used to hate the Yankees because they bought up all that talent and won. Now they just buy up talent and and get hammered by the Astros. That must suck for you. Maybe you and Helobious can start a weekly group or something.
  19. And I meant TBN, not ESPN. Not that they have any love for the Astros either.
  20. The suggestion that anyone not in an Astros uniform, employed by MLB, would intentionally favor the Astros, is just hillarious. Sure, the umps help us out all the time. And ESPN pimping the Mariners from the beginning, and then having to reluctantly talk up Jordon is the best. What was so awesome about Servais walking Yordon is that it was absolutely the right thing to do, and it still cost them. I mean, anyone can take advantage of your stupid decisions. The Astros will abuse you for making the right one. These west coast salmon smackers need to learn and I hope the lesson is taught in game 3. It would be a great time for Altuve to find his bat.
