  1. I thought aggy's inferiority complex was bad, but sandaggy is taking it to a whole new level.
  2. You're forgetting the charming metropolis that is Waco, Texas.
  3. I don't disagree. Nothing has ever been equal in college athletics. Schools don't compete on an equal footing in athletics or academics. It's always been one big status game anyway, before the money got so big.
  4. This was intentional and according to plan.
  5. Sweat staying back for another year was a huge win for the defense. Collins hasn't lived up to the hype, but I'm glad to have him in the rotation. To write off either is foolish, particularly when they'll have as much or more help at NT and EDGE to support them than we've seen in previous years. The defensive line will be anchored by Sorrell and Murphy anyway, and the rest just need to be competent to match last year. Throw in an improved pass rush with second year Burke and Finkley and the raw talent of Colton Vasek and Anthony Hill, and hopefully all those QB pressures start to result in more sacks. This seems to be the plan, and I don't see how it won't result in similar results on run defense with a chance to improve our pass defense up front. ILB will be the same or better with Ford at Mike and your-guess-is-as-good-as-mine at Will (same as it ever was). You can nitpick individual players, but I think there's plenty of room for optimism for the defense as a whole. You either believe that PK, Davis, and Choate can coach this combo of talent into a serviceable front 6 or 7 or you don't. I choose to believe they can. Combine that with what appears to be the most talented secondary we've had in recent memory, and I see a defense that has a floor that we can win the Big12 with.
  6. That was before he had a monster HS senior season in 2020. Here's what his UT Bio says about that year: Gained 3,849 yards from scrimmage and scored 65 offensive TD's (70 total) as a senior; helped Hallettsville to a 13-3 record and a Texas 3A D-I state runner-up finish.
  7. None of this matters. Sark has two years to bury Seven Win Steve for good, or he's gone. The ability to replace him with equal or better once we're in the SEC is so much better than when we were stuck in a 10-team Big 12 that everyone believed was destined to be carved up like the PAC was this summer. We've transformed the athletic department and facilities part of this equation as far as it will go. The recruiting is as good as it's been since the last time we had a dynasty. We go as far as our coaching will take us from here on out.
  8. How does this benefit either the Big 12 or the TV networks? ESPN would be better just renegotiating the ACC contract.
  9. Here we go again in October. The PC tongue-twister re-re-rebranding is back. I really thought "Showdown" was a decent compromise.
  10. Apparently homeboy wasn't watching from 2010 to 2017 (or during 2021). The path from Colt to Sam was not fun.
  11. Texas wins 41-13. Texas Defense gives up 279 yards.
  12. I dunno man. Alabama white sauce is delicious, even if it looks like you got a rotisserie chicken from Krispy Kreme. Don't fear the BBQ Bird Bukake.
  13. Yep. Between defensive scores, decent punt returns, and the unfortunate INT on the first drive, the offense didn't have a lot of opportunities to produce long drives before giving the ball over to Card, who went straight into shell-shocked-by-Arkansas mode. It wasn't the prettiest 52-10, but lets not pretend that that there wasn't some improvement. Last year this game would have been more like 41-24, easily, and Sark would have had to dip deep into his bag of tricks to get it there.
  14. Of course we don't have a KICKer! That's what happens when you fire a COACh who's never had a losing season and replace him with 7even Win Steve, who proceeds to shit the bed in historical fashion! How the hell are we supposed to get champion special teams recruits at KICKer and PUNTer and LoNGsnaPper when we lose 6 games in a row, including to KANSas at HOME!!! I think I'm gonna mortgage my house and take it all to VEGAs and betting it all on the uNDER!!! (Is that better?)
  15. You know, it's threads like this that drove me to go ahead and pony up for an IT subscription. I think I'll just go back to enjoying the expensive Kool-Aid and living in relative ignorance.
  16. Yup. That is the most rational position to take. Better than just hoping Sark's a sure thing and destined to take us to the promise land, for sure. But also way better than the attitude that we should have done better than Sark after Urban Meyer burned us. We're in it now, may as well ride it out and hope for the best.
  17. So, somewhere between Lane Kiffin and Jimbo Fisher? The list of proven college coaches that deliver better than what you describe is incredibly short. Nick Saban (unobtainable), Urban Meyer (eliminated), Kirby Smart (dream on), Dabo Swinney (nearly unobtainable), Brian Kelly (new contract), and Lincoln Riley (new contract). A coach that can routinely pull 8-4 in the SEC is a great QB away from a title.
