  1. Very good point. Texas played SMU in a game there during the mid-90's. I attended that game, then helped run concessions for my brother's band fund that evening during an HBCU game. There were gun shots, which sent people sprawling all over the place. If that had happened after the game yesterday, there would have been a Liverpool-esque death tally.
  2. Wondering why TX sucked for so many years? It wasn't just coaching. Have any of our former players - many of whom had quite a bit of PT for Texas - done much? They've all gone to lesser teams. Casey can't see the field with that disaster in front him. Rising sucks. Card, no idea. Jake Smith? I think I saw Swanson on TV the other night.
  3. Too add, the Cotton Bowl yesterday was borderline dangerous. My son left 2 mins before half to get water. He came back after the game had resumed and said the line didn't move. I tried again a few mins later. Nothing. It also felt like it was 150 degree in the concourse post-game.
  4. Hat tip for next year. Park at the other end of the Green Line (Buckner Station). I was worried that it'd bottleneck downtown, so I tried out the south end of the Green Line and was back at my truck 15 mins after leaving the Fair. We were back in Rowlett by 7. Our train car had 5 people in it.
  5. Vol fans are not taking this very well.
  6. Ok. Catching up on the thread. Good to know 10,000 folks in the endzone and I were not crazy about the lack of holding calls on sooner. Good Lord that was bad.
  7. The 73rd ranked TE in 2021?
  8. Take the loss pussy.
  9. Lol. At the State Fair. Dogs, cats, Longhorns, and Sooners cheering together for Cocks.
  10. Yep. Train from S Dallas, then walked right in. Watching Bama at one of the shaded patios.
  11. My God I hope y'all are right. Taking my son to the game. He went with my wife (Vol alum) to the Arky game last Sat. He got back and said, "Well at least I finally got to see people rush the field". If TX were to lose, he might give up sports altogether.
  12. LOL. Mobilehoma knows what's up. I was just checking ticket prices and noticed that some were as low as $380. Turns out just about any ticket on the OU side is listed at about 60% of the cost of a similar ticket on the TX side.
  13. Tried to watch Fall, but ended up freaking out. Skip the spoiler if you want to avoid a sad story. I don't want to derail the thread.
  14. That's awesome. If you switched flights in Dallas, I may have given you a high five. I was about 10. Listened to the game on the radio. Eric Metcalf was my first favorite player. Anyway, it just so happened that my mom was flying back from New Orleans that evening. We went to pick her up and saw a bunch of folks coming back from the game. I know for a fact some of them were cheerleaders because I distinctly recall getting fuzzy when one of the hotties gave me five. I believe there were others (band?) that were part of Texas' official contingent. That was the day I knew I was going to Texas.
  15. Yep. Go to 5:50.
  16. IIRC, the same thing happened when the Vols lost to Ole Miss in the mustard game a couple of years ago. QB either ran out of bounds or threw it out of bounds on the last 4th down play.
  17. LOL. I'm assuming most have turned the channel. They're playing Rocky Top over the loudspeakers.
  18. Well, I'm not getting laid.
  19. Vols need Tony Jones.
  20. Collins got held exactly the same way last week w/o a flag. /carry on
  21. Wife and oldest son + friends are at the game. I'm in a hotel with my youngest here in Fayetteville. We all met up earlier on campus to eat at a sports bar. I was wearing a Vol shirt and a Longhorn hat. I was expecting a ton of shit, but the Arky fans were all extremely nice. Odd as I'd heard stories about the 60's and 70's. Only shit I got was from a Vol fan telling me they were #4. I was all, "That's after 2, right?" Also had to drive through OK to get here. I may be the last on Surly to know this, but their actually is a company there called "Mobilehoma". Lol.
