  1. Lol. Beat me to it. And...
  2. Yeah. The family and I had kind of marked this wknd every year to get out of town. Hope there's something in it's place.
  3. Ahhh. West Campus. Jack in the Box Pronto Magic Wok Commons House Hippies
  4. Weird. Eric Hall (NW HS in Clarksville, TN) my wife's high school. Malcolm Williams (Garland) my high school. I met Malcolm's mom a couple of years ago. She was a janitorial sub at my school. She saw my Texas hat and asked if I had heard of her son. She was extremely nice and still very proud of her son.
  5. Oh damn. I loved that Double Dave's. I was flat broke in college, but had a friend that was an asst mgr. there. Monday Night Football and pepperoni rolls.
  6. I went 20 years ('96 to 2015) between Austin visits. I got really claustrophobic in and around campus. It seemed so much more open when I was there - especially West Campus. Yep. I'm not so sure my stellar 3.1 high school GPA would get me into McCombs these days. I'm not entirely sure how I got in the first time. Congrats to both of y'all!
  7. He's taken film all four years in high school. He's definitely doing something behind the camera. He loves the writing and directing aspect of film. His best friend's mom, also a Texas alum, has made a pretty good career in creating content - editing, ads - for various businesses. So, prob something along those lines.
  8. Eat shit Canada.
  9. Son got accepted to UT today. One of his first comments - "Well, I'm not looking forward to basketball season next year."
  10. Just realized. My son will be at Texas for Arch; my wife was attending Tennessee when Peyton was QB. Weird.
  11. Holy S! I love all of y'all. My son got in. We were sweating. 3.85 GPA and 1410 on SAT (I think; don't quote me), but in an IB high school, he was "only" top 8%. He'll be in RTF. I'm so happy for him. He's slightly on the spectrum, so extremely quiet and shy. I've never heard him raise his voice or even cuss. He's had at least 8 job interviews over the past 3 months with no offers. I'm under the impression that his demeanor was a hindrance. And NOW.... a true Longhorn. Holy shit! My son is a Longhorn!
  12. That's the thing. The Alone creators are serious enough to equip folks with bear spray and air horns. The first night on this new show, and they're showing bears wandering around the campsites. I guess we're supposed to sympathize with those that have the ability to push the button and "save" their family members. It's too contrived.
  13. Cool concept, and I wanted to like it. But, there's no way they dropped a bunch of people, that aren't even real survivalists, in BC w/o any type of defense against bears.
  14. F waiting a year. It's not just about not making the tourney and/or looking so shitty in most games. There's no life in the program. The fans have checked out. I'm seeing very little on the recruiting front. Hell, I'm trying to think of one player that's even improved after getting on campus. Start fresh, get some transfers, and actually give us something to look forward to next year.
  15. Autism as well. I have a middle schooler with it. This thread reminded me I need to get him to watch it with me.
  16. The original had one of the better movie endings of the last few years.
  17. Sweet. A rebound for every foul or turnover.
  18. You didn't like the play just before half where he drilled the ball off the bottom of the backboard from 2 feet out?
  19. As usual, the ads were mostly meh. I'm biased in that I'll always like those with Texas alums - MM and Glen Powell - showing out. I think John Hamm may have attended Texas as well. As the father of a high school senior, I def didn't need to see the one where the father sent his daughter off to college.
  20. Why the f would you throw your hands up like that in the box?
  21. This team is so GD regarded.
  22. It's me you old coot!
