  1. Yeah, no violence or threats or anything. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/08/21/richie-incognito-arrested-for-disorderly-conduct-threats/
  2. And now, a white guy calling the cops after an aggressive screen in a pickup hoops game. Not everybody who does these ticky tack police calls is female...but they're definitely all bitches. https://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2018/7/17/17581172/cops-called-foul-pickup-basketball-game
  3. Looks like ol' Shakey Gayves got fired: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/16/business/cvs-coupon-manager-black-woman-police.html CVS Health fired two employees at a Chicago area store on Monday, just days after a black woman posted a video that she said showed one of them — a white man — calling the police after she tried to use a coupon they believed to be fraudulent. The drugstore company also said it had apologized to the woman, Camilla Hudson. In a post with the video on Facebook, Ms. Hudson said that the confrontation involved two managers during her visit to the store on Friday night. She said she had tried to make a purchase with a coupon mailed to her by the product manufacturer, but a manager said he thought it was fake. Her photo of the coupon showed a December 2018 expiration date and indicated it was good for up to $17.99 toward a personal medical item. Eventually, she said, the manager walked away, and when she followed him “he ran to the back of the store and slammed a door in my face.” Then, she said, another manager arrived to tell her to leave because he had called the police. The video shows an employee, who identifies himself to the police as Morry Matson, on the phone describing Ms. Hudson, as his arm shakes. In a statement, the Chicago Police said officers responded late Friday to a call of an “assault in progress” at the CVS.
  4. Dude is running for Alderman (City Council) in Chicago to boot. Just who I want representing me, a trembling gay Republican who works at a freaking CVS, with a history of petition fraud to top things off. https://blockclubchicago.org/2018/07/14/cvs-apologizes-after-white-manager-calls-cops-on-black-customer-over-coupon-video/
  5. We got a new one. Bonus for the dude shaking his ass of while calling the cops on the mean old middle aged black lady. https://www.statesman.com/news/national/cvs-apologizes-after-white-manager-called-police-black-woman-using-coupon/LbsJ8mxRtgWgygzGxxNAMP/
  6. Almost as good as the Spirit of St. Louis' deal to go away when the ABA and NBA merged. https://www.forbes.com/sites/monteburke/2014/01/07/the-nba-finally-puts-an-end-to-the-greatest-sports-deal-of-all-time/#746c10c94f0b
  7. Has anyone done this for all sports all time, more or less an all-time Learfield (formerly Sears) Directors Cup? BTW, Stanford won it for 2017-18, wrapping in up even before the CWS champion was determined. http://www.nacda.com/sports/directorscup/spec-rel/061418aaa.html
  8. If you're serious about that, there's only one thing to do:
  9. How long until it hits a student geeking out on the drag?
  10. Holy shit: That's it, burn it all down.
  11. I think this whole episode is an amazing indictment of our corporate wealth/fame system. How it is better to drop out of Stanford than continue to, you know, get an elite education in science if you are planning a potentially groundbreaking science/tech product? Pic of her around dropout time, because rules: Why do people bother to listen to someone that doesn't yet have a product on the market, yet alone invite them to give well-attended talks, provide commencement addressees and seek them out for political advice? This baffles me. I mean seriously, why do we give the time of day to someone who hasn't really done anything other than sweet talk people out of their money? Based on that skill, she was palling around with celebrities, meeting elite politicians--some of whom went out of their way to attend her speeches--and getting TV interviews and magazine articles as if she was a "real" CEO with a viable product. Why are we so in awe of startup founders, especially when they haven't even proven their big idea can work?
  12. Rest in peace. Even in death, still a better bass player than Flea.
  13. Many of them will now have the opportunity to suck for an additional year.
  14. The only thing wrong with the current format was revealed when Oregon State showed how a team could win the championship while losing two games in Omaha. IIRC, before then, that had never happened. In previous formats it couldn't happen. I will also agree the one game championship series was awful.
  15. Aggy hanging with the rest of the SEC:
  16. NextDoor gonna NextDoor. That could be a great/awful thread. Any takers?
  17. I agree and think they're also getting to be a waste of time in hoops, too. Just have the regular season, and have a playoff only if two teams have tied conference records, which was the old Ivy League model. Mid-major conferences continually screw themselves out of their one good team making the tourney by having a needless tournament just so they can get the championship game on ESPN2.
