  1. They are NOT supposed to be able to use MLS, that’s why they got sued. We’re a non disclosure state. Scrapping MLS data via Zillow/Redfin was/is a violation. https://www.austinmonitor.com/stories/2019/05/reporters-notebook-game-of-homes/
  2. Vandy is on the SECN a lot. Last season they played in the SECN 8 times, on SEC+(streaming only) once, ACCN once, CBSSN once. Their only rated games last season was against UGA on CBS (which I think was contractually required to pick every team at least once).

  4. So this proves my point. 31% too much Support for Israel 25% think this is the right amount 24% too little 20% who the fuck knows At least 49% prefer the status quo or more. So the current government in power is going to make 31% happy that are already in their camp. We know the other side has generally less than 50% of the vote so a good portion of that “right amount” are likely swing voters that could decide the election. That is my only point here.
  5. That’s great and I can even agree with much of what you are saying, however as this is an election year this is not the best time for this. As a moderate who does not want “he who shall not be named” reelected, not supporting Israel will rally his base and alienate many in the middle who do not agree with these protests/protesters. I’m firmly in the camp of sit down and shut up for the next few months and don’t give the opposition any ammunition. You can have which ever opinion you wish, but caving to the childish antics of those so far extreme that even liberal Saturday night live is making fun of…doesn’t bode well for November. We’re past the primaries, where the candidates historically are supposed to be pivoting to the middle. Keeping the status quo would be the middle. Increasing shipments of weapons would lean too far right, restricting shipments leans too far left and thus they are handing “red meat” to the opposition who will use it like a cudgel during this election cycle to sway those in the middle. It’s highly likely that anyone supporting Palestine is already in your camp. So while you can celebrate this as a short term win for that cause, this may be one of the things that could hand the election of your the opposition. And if they win, what do you think the ramifications will be to the Palestinian cause? Win the battle but lose the war. That’s as close to a CR from me as you’re bound to get.
  6. Just serving up red meat for the opposition by appeasing the extremists.
  7. They haven’t designed which game will be on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday yet.
  8. I’m pretty sure it will almost work out that way except Highlander rules: FSU/Clemson/UNC/UVA/Miami/ND will leave and the Big 12 will take the best of the rest. Boston College and Wake Forest need not apply.
  9. Cheer on the Pokes and if they pull off one more (and we take care of Tech tomorrow) we win outright.

  11. Are we talking only football? How would that work exactly? We’ve never done a football only league. Let’s say the SEC drops Kentucky, Vandy, South Carolina, and MSU from football but still want to play with them in basketball/baseball? Football drives the money here, so you’re going to cut $20 million from their budgets but have them compete against you in all sports? Say you’re the Big 12 or ACC and you take these schools for football, are you then going to allow Kentucky basketball to play SEC basketball and not Big 12/ACC basketball? So the Big12/ACC will be funding the majority of Kentucky’s athletic department but not get the benefit of their most valuable program? It sounds great in theory, but practically speaking it’s a logistical land mine. Does the Big 12 let Utah and Arizona not play basketball and non revenue sports with them and rejoin UCLA/USC in a non fb PAC12 league? Not an easy web to unweave.
  12. Okay, I’m all for shitting on aggy but I can’t let this TCU bullshit pass either. TCU was in the MWC for 7 seasons and had 6 season with 10+ wins. In the MWC TCU basically had a 4 game season where even those teams typically weren’t as good as the top end of the Big 12. TCU has been in the Big 12 for 12 season and has had 4 season with 10+ wins. The grind difference between the MWC and the Big 12 is real. Now they’ve had success obviously, but they no longer get those easy gimme games against UNLV and New Mexico built into their schedule. They now build their program in cycles and waves (which is a wise strategy) to compete with the more difficult grind. There is a major difference between the Big 12 and the SEC, FULL STOP. While both conferences are full of quality teams the top of the SEC is significantly better. That means, yes, the SEC is more difficult, but does NOT mean Mississippi State/Arkansas are better than Iowa State/Kansas. That the stupid argument aggy has been claiming for a decade+ which is dumb. The difference for Texas will be adjusting to playing more games like Georgia, Alabama, and LSU in the middle of their conference slate, not playing more teams like Kentucky. I’d argue that those more mundane game might even be easier than the Big 12 because those teams have to play more than two big time games a year so they can’t go all out jihad against us like the Big 12 did (with the obvious exception of aggy and Arkansas).
  13. The big leagues need suckers too unless you want to get beat the hell up all year just to lose in the playoffs. But still, could you cut a few schools a replace with better ones?…absolutely. Mississippi State is the 3rd smallest state in the P4 (behind Neb & WV) and is the #2 school in the state with the worst academics in the conference that isn’t on anybody’s travel wish list. The only thing they bring is a mid level rivalry with Ole Miss, a solid baseball program and a moderate sized football stadium that still only beats out a basketball school and a private school (I could make a similar post about Purdue in the Big Ten). So let’s cut MSU (won’t happen but let say we can) you don’t want to replace them with FSU/Clemson. Already 50% of the conference has won a national title in the BCS/CFP era. The Big Ten and ACC are only at 17%, the Big 12 is at 0%. Those two only make sense if you expand to 20. FSU/Clemson solidify your base and shut out competition, while you also expand with a pair of lesser schools as well. For a single addition you want a school that will bring new fans/eyeballs to the conference, potentially new markets for advertisers and recruiting, and other benefits like quality basketball, baseball, academics, or travel destinations for fans that also is contiguous to the current conference footprint. That really only leaves 2 options. #1 North Carolina (or if they go North with the B1G, NCSU), and #2 Kansas. Both have great basketball and as a result good sized fans bases despite lackluster football. Rivalry history with existing members, are good (not great) travel destinations in newish markets that grow the conference footprint, and both have unique color schemes and mascots (please no more red/near red colors or tigers in the SEC) and would slot somewhere into the lower half of the SEC hierarchy. While nobody would celebrate their addition to the football schedule but they would not morn the loss of MSU either and basketball would get a major boost.
