  1. FSU, Clemson and obviously ND bring eye balls, regularly sell out their 70k+ seat stadium, and have the appropriate fan/institutional support. Miami is different, they could be included but they aren’t the same as the above.
  2. They may not do as well but their schedule isn’t anything ridiculous. Arkansas and Tulsa OOC and they avoid Kansas, Iowa St, UCF, Arizona and obviously UT/OU. The only hard addition for them is Utah.
  3. Oklahoma State will be up there as well.
  4. If you're looking for the coldest margs and the hottest skillet queso look no further than Chili's, 45th and Lamar.
  5. The PAC2 will merge with the MWC once they squeeze every last cent they can from the CFP and what little juice is left in their conference coffers. If the ACC loses FSU, Clemson, Miami, UNC, UVA and any high value teams to the SEC/B1G plus their second rate teams like Louisville, NCSU, Pitt, VA Tech to the Big 12 they will also survive in a similar manner. There are just too many schools in the ACC and too many backfill candidates sitting out in the American/Sun Belt/CUSA for them to go quietly into the night. USF, UConn, Memphis, Tulane, and Temple are the quick and obvious no brainers that come to mind before you start looking at less prestigious schools with good football like App State or Liberty.
  6. It’s a bad point. aggy, Arkansas, and OU will hate us, scheme for us every offseason, spring/fall camp and bye weeks…and to a lesser extent and for recruiting purposes we might get a little of that from LSU and Mizzou too. We’ll hear the same stupid narrative that “player X grew up wanting to play in Austin but didn’t get offered” but that will be about 1/3 of our schedule versus what was 1/2 in the Big 12. Sure, schools East of the Mississippi will circle our game, but they’ll also circle Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma and others as well and that make a big difference. I agree they’ll play hard because it’s a big game national broadcast, but that’s not the same as a jihad mentality that the Big 12 teams brought where many would change their offensive/defensive base scheme that would match up the best against what Texas/Oklahoma were running. This was compounded when we went to round robin play. Before we only played 5 opponents each and every year in the Big 12 South and rotated 3 from the North, but when 9 opponents became annual, it incentivized ALL coaches to scheme specifically for UT/OU because a losing season was often considered successful if you could upset one of the bluebloods. No one outside of aggy/OU/pig will do that shit in the SEC when we don’t play them every year which is a big reason I’m a fan of the 3-6-6 scheduling model.
  7. TCU, Colorado, Utah, Arizona St, Oklahoma St, K State, UCF, Arizona, Kansas, BYU, Baylor, Texas Tech, Iowa St, West Virginia, Houston, Cincinnati
  8. Dumbasses in every school but the public ivy thing has been around for nearly 40 years. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_Ivy
  9. Serious question, how is Alabama “booming”? Georgia (Atlanta), Arkansas(Walmart), Tennessee(Nashville), and South Carolina (beach/golf) have improved their standing over the last 25 years or so but I don’t think anything notable has occurred in Mississippi, Alabama, or Louisiana outside of college sports.
  10. Was his name Terry Tate?
  11. I need a higher resolution photo
  12. FIFY I wouldn’t crown him a good coach just yet. Patterson and TCU always run in cycles. They fired him just before they were scheduled to hit their peak and Dykes took over and rode that experienced team Gary built to a title game. People said Aranda was a “good” coach after 2021 as well…
  13. It’s not about the playoffs (like you said that system is done), it’s about TV money. Does that lineup of team get them anymore money? The answer is not really. It may be better in the margins but they are still not going to get a SEC/B1G level payday with that cast. Less money = fewer elite recruits Fewer elite recruits means it’s hard to compete at the elite level with the other helmet schools. Making the playoffs doesn’t mean much if you never make it out of the first/second round. Just ask Dallas Cowboy fans.
  14. You guys should hire him tomorrow.
  15. Mandel is a dumbass. The FOX angle is obvious, so good job finding the broadside of that barn of a take, but his second point is asinine. Let’s go with his thought that FSU was to re-make a tighter ACC with a more football focus…they’d basically just cut out Boston College, Syracuse, Virginia, Duke, Wake Forest and the new guys and let even go further and assume they pull a rabbit out of their ass and add West Virginia (best team East of the Mississippi not named ND and not in the SEC/B1G) in this scenario as well. This would be FSU’s schedule each year: Louisville, Pitt, WVU, VT, UNC, NCSU, Clemson, GT, Miami, and Florida Does that really move the needle for anyone?
  16. Legitimate top 10 list for aggy since joining the SEC: 2012 at #17 Mississippi St (first ranked SEC win) 2012 at #1 Alabama 2012 non NY6 Cotton Bowl vs #12 Oklahoma 2014 at #3 Auburn 2016 #9 Tennessee 2018 #7 LSU (Commemorative Cups!) 2020 #4 Florida 2020 Orange Bowl vs #13 North Carolina 2021 #1 Alabama 2022 #5 LSU No one remembers the 3 bolded above. Moral victories against Georgia/Clemson would rank above those.
  17. The school and coach can’t discuss or advertise them, but the media can.
  18. You’re in good company.
  19. I don’t think you understand me. The meta threads themselves are fine. Does starting a 2024 aggy/realignment thread Jan 1 that we use for a single year really change anything. Do you routinely go back 1200 pages and read?
  20. Agrees things like the Tell me about aggy thread or realignment thread or other extremely long thread should be locked and restarted again each year (calendar or school). Changing the thread titles to something less generic than “Tell me about” or “not going away” would also help as the focus of the topic changes or new information comes up to being in more viewers. That’s been one of the more semi recent changes in the recruiting threads that I would like to see move over the the other boards.
