  1. Yep weird miscount on my part- Colorado leaving and coming back messed with my thinking on it as I was counting them twice and I guess I was including another somehow as well. 17 we hold winning all time record over-Nebraska, Mizzou, Oklahoma, aggy, UCF, Iowa St, Kansas, K State, Okie St, Houston, TCU, Baylor, Tech, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Arizona St 1 we split with - West Virginia 1 we’ve never played - Cincinnati 1 we having a losing record against- BYU
  2. We hold all time scoreboard on 19 of them. We are .500 with West Virginia (6-6) and have a losing record to BYU (2-4) thanks to playing them in the 80’s and 2010’s (Mack’s last year and Strong’s first year).
  3. I watch all college football but it has been nice to not care about them since no one in or around our state is worth watching. Going off memory here… TCU beat Stanford early but lost to Houston and SMU and it isn’t looking pretty. Baylor has lost every game of consequence so far. Tech lost to Wazzu, nearly lost to ACU, but is so far undefeated in conference play though I don’t think they’ve played anyone significant yet. Okie State beat Arkansas but hasn’t won a conference game. Their old QB looks pedestrian and Ollie Gordon lost millions by not going in the draft last year because he looks unimpressive. K State got upset by BYU (who is undefeated and ranked) but has a few solid wins. BYU has that one win but nothing else really. Undefeated/ranked Iowa State finally beat Iowa and got a validation win against WVU. Kansas, Arizona, UCF, and Utah were all expected to be above average to good this year but aren’t. Cam Rising is injured again at Utah. I can’t tell you anything about Cincy and Arizona State (other than they beat Mississippi State) and have no idea how they are doing in conference play. And Colorado is better than last year but is still an incomplete team being carried by some very talented players. You can not like the way it’s being done but it’s getting results. They lost to the two best teams they’ve played in K State and Nebraska, squeaked out victories against Baylor and NDSU, but they demolished Colorado State and UCF. They should make a bowl this year and finish with 7 wins (plus or minus one). And that’s all I can really tell you about the Big 12 which is about the same amount I could tell you about the Big Ten, less than the SEC, and more than the ACC or G5.
  4. Aligned? No. Having to play Kansas and Iowa State every fucking year? Absolutely yes. The old Big 12 limited our exposure to those teams. Then when it went to a 9 game schedule we lost the best 3 schools in the North in Nebraska, Colorado, and Mizzou and then had to play the ones we least cared about (and West Virginia) EVERY FUCKING YEAR. Add in swapping aggy for TCU and our schedule became a giant turd sandwich. If you could have had swapped Baylor and Iowa State for Arkansas and LSU the Big 12 would have been damn near perfect.
  5. I stopped using stubhub. They don’t seem to give a shit about the buyer so fuck’em. Seatgeek has been better, plus I enjoy that I can see the price with the fees included. That really helps especially when you’re buying ticket for a group of people and trying to talk about prices, having the full face value is extremely convenient.
  6. I would rather we do a thread each year versus having one gigantic never ending mega thread.
  7. @ERhine IIRC used to have a thread for this type of content
  8. They had a few thousand, but it was similar to Colorado St/ULM’s showing than UTSA.
  9. I’ve liked the FCS spring game idea for years now. I’d love to play SFA (now a UT system school) or Incarnate Word in a glorified scrimmage that is purely an exhibition. But ban P4 games in the regular season against FCS opponents.
  10. Cross posting from the College Gameday thread. https://awfulannouncing.com/college-football/fox-traded-ohio-state-oregon-big-ten-schedule-draft.html#
  11. Yes, I’m replying to myself because this is the thing that irritates me the most about aggy. I get that all fan bases (including ours) will make up bullshit insider narratives about rival programs and argue opinions all day and night…but aggy fucking makes shit up that can be easily disprove with a quick Wikipedia search, and then they will continue to repeat that clear outright lie for YEARS…and it doesn’t matter how many times that “fact” is disproved they will continue repeating it until it recited in fish camp by every incoming freshman.
  12. The OU game is sandwiched between conference games like it usually is. This isn’t even remotely true and nobody even challenged it which means it is now considered a fact over there. They truly are pathetic.
  13. As usual, they are wrong. But I assume they are used to that…
  14. They realize Michigan’s DL are rated as one of the best in the country and likely will all get drafted this year? Why do I even ask rhetorical questions when dealing with their mass cognitive dissonance?
  15. And Kentucky beat #6 Ole Miss the week before as well. Gives the coaches lots of film and motivation material to use with the team. Might be the best bye week we’ve ever had.
  16. The additional Friday night games were an agreement to get Oregon and Washington money from FOX. Without them their money would have come out of Nebraska’s pocket. Michigan, Ohio St, and Penn State did not opt out of Friday night games, its just that their games were not approved by NBC/CBS to drop past the top 3 picks to the FS1/BTN inventory. Ohio State versus Marshall on FOX pulled 4 million viewers while Nebraska vs UTEP on FOX only pulled 1.6 million. Nebraska versus Illinois on Friday pulled 4.2 million. That’s why Nebraska will continue to play on Friday and Ohio State will not.
  17. The additions of Oregon and Washington were both after this deal was already in place. Still, it’s clear that giving both CBS and NBC exclusive windows was an obvious mistake. I think they’ll trade a game or two each season to CBS/NBC so going forward they can broadcast later games as an exception to those exclusive windows once or twice a year. FOX also should start promoting games they don’t broadcast. They are the top broadcasting partner of the Big Ten and they are going to Provo promoting BYU while Gameday goes to cover one of that conference’s biggest games of the year. That makes no sense.
  18. They got tOSU/Michigan and Michigan/Texas, then they traded the #3 pick to NBC who picked fOSU/Oregon. They did this because putting a West Coast game in Oregon on FOX’s Big Noon time slot (the only Saturday time slot FOX can use, since they gave CBS and NBC exclusive time slots) would have started the game at 9am local time. https://awfulannouncing.com/college-football/fox-traded-ohio-state-oregon-big-ten-schedule-draft.html#
  19. Oklahoma is ranked and is our major rival, our players and coaches aren’t going to sleepwalk into the Cotton Bowl Georgia will be a top 10 matchup at home likely with Gameday, they aren’t overlooking that one. Vandy just upset #1 Alabama in Nashville, that helps the coaches show the team that we can’t look past them. Copy/Paste the above for: Arkansas beating #4 Tennessee Kentucky beating #6 Ole Miss (plus playing #1 UGA close) aggy beating #9 Mizzou Only Florida doesn’t have a readymade storyline for the coaches to sell.
  20. In fairness, we are ranked as the #1 team in the nation, so isn’t this true for all the teams we play?
  21. FOX got last pick of the Big Ten games this week. NBC got fOSU/Oregon CBS got Pedo/USC FOX only does games on FOX so their choices this week were limited to: Washington/Iowa Purdue/#23 Illinois Minnesota/UCLA Rutgers/Wisconsin Arizona/#14 BYU #11 Iowa State/West Virginia
  22. If they win this week they’ll probably take it unless we destroy OU 49-0 again.
