That's a very interesting theory. Hard to say causation, but the decrease does appear to have begun a short while after bomb pots became regular. It 100% changed the $2/5 game to become far more swing-y. It was actually funny to watch the consistently natural progression for newer players ... Never heard of bomb pots -> Get it, but struggle with it -> Randomly win a big ass pot -> Love bomb pots -> torch themselves every subsequent bomb pot -> curse bomb pots on their way out the door ... to your point, possibly never to be seen again. I would say I was guilty of wanting to get the new guys to win one or two because I knew they'd be hooked, to my future benefit
I'm actually playing $2/2 now to try and rebuild my bankroll for a Vegas trip in Feb and I'm noticing a lot of other $2/5 players have migrated down to $2/2.
Are you guys noticing a decline in the number of live players in your rooms? We still do fine during events and big promos, but when those aren’t going the $2/5 game most notably is taking a hit the last few months. Curious if it’s just a local phenomenon (NE FL) or happening in TX too
Played in a pair of wide cleats today, though I’ve never felt I needed wide shoes in general, and found them to be excellent for comfort (I walk) and also stability. Curious if anyone else has tried this that doesn’t normally wear wide shoes
The Team Edge walking bags are absolute trash. Are you guys seeing any other Longhorns walking bags locally? Online it’s pretty much only this TE garbage and jacked up Nike bags on eBay.
They’ve got the course redesign architect on Live From and he’s doing a hole by hole review of his design decisions. REALLY cool discussion if you’re into that stuff. He just finished the front 9 so you can still catch the back live but I’m sure they’ll replay this. Gil Hanse is his name
The inelasticity of BBs relative to inflation and rake has always been interesting to me. Players want to play $2, $5 and $10 BBs but those games are now effectively worth much less to players than they were 10 years ago
Their app exclusive deals have turned to shit, but if you go into the McValue Menu section and scroll down to meals, there’s a $5 McDouble Meal Deal that’s a steal.
The old Wynn room was perfect in that regard, imo. Comfortably away from the casino floor, but obvious to passers-by and in between the clubs and the parking garage for funneling in fish
