I believe the prevailing theory is that an excellent pro maxes out at about 20 big blinds per hour as an average over 1000+ hours. So, if you were willing to put in 40 hrs a week playing $2/5 (and had access to games that paid you that well throughout, Ie not nit games at 2pm on Tuesdays), you could expect to pull $200k year. To play $2/5, you want max buyin on the table, which can be anywhere from $500 to $1500. It’s $800 here in Jax. Your bankroll always needs to be more than 20 max buyins due to variance, so you’d want a starting bankroll of $15-30k at least. Probably double that to account for the inevitable swing of you playing bad (not just variance) $500k target would probably require you to very carefully select your games when picking your 40 hours (Ie 2am at a casino w a club) to try to pull it off at $2/5 Of course $5/10 or $10/25 will certainly pay a pro better, but obviously your competitors will be significantly better too. I’d guess these guys play a very whale-dependent schedule and your ability to get into those games is probably slim.

  3. Ugh… the jury forewoman is a walking facepalm
  4. I’ve got to believe at some point singular smart roads will make more sense than various smart vehicles.
  5. That’s fucked up. Any speculation on why they took him?
  6. So, both sides covered? Funny that
  7. Not really, but since most tourney directors are only familiar w GHIN it’s easiest if you use that. Since the formula is open, GHIN competitors are available (like MyScorecard)
  8. I use MyScorecard, but don’t recommend it since their handicap, while accurate, is no longer on GHIN
  9. Exactly. The more forgiving club may not only save you tons of shots by giving you some value from your mishits, but also by getting you to stop trying to pull off shots you have no business attempting.
  10. Unless you are sub 5, workability is overrated, imo

Brutal runout at Aria $5/10 last night. I’m UTG straddle to $20. CO opens to $60. SB calls and I defend w J9o. $190 pot A T 7 rainbow. Check to CO who makes it $120. Only I call. $430 pot. 8. I check. He makes it $400, I decide to just call leaving $800 behind to let him jam me on river. $1230 pot A. I check. He bets $700. I just called and he flips 88. Pure nasty

This this this. You’re flop game will improve so much if you can FIRST divorce yourself from your actual hand considering your perceived range, THEN consider your actual hand, before making your play. Just get in that habit even when the play you want to make is obvious.
  16. Exactly. The technology helps A TON. Especially for high handicappers that routinely miss the sweet spot
  17. That’s a very good deal and probably a good start for you if you are of average build. I saw one of the YouTube golf guys try that very set and he was impressed with it

He was an unknown. I’d seen him make a few smart plays and decided he had seen enough of buttons aggression to make a play here with lesser hands, expanding his range beyond just AKs, KK+ I call, 8s 4s 2h was an above average flop. 5c doesn’t change anything. Ah gives me a lot of hope, but he flips over AA and I take the walk of shame to the parking lot. (PLO “session” saved the day)

$2/5, $700 Old Asian limps UTG w $1100. Tight CO makes it $35. Young aggro kid makes it $110. I look down at AsKs. This whole thing looks sketchy as fuck so I just call. UTG jams and other two fold. Call $590 to win $1425?

$5/5 PLO while waiting for my seat at $2/5 Sit with $400, and leave for my $2/5 table about 20 mins later with $2100. What a fucking game
  21. For the context of this thread, excess salt contributes to water weight so it might skew your short term results. Otherwise it doesn’t really play into weight management as far as I’ve seen.
  22. Do you even Internets, bro?
  23. Yeah I heard it all through Jr High so in HS I just embraced it as my nickname
