  1. Ah, it’s mine hunters. There will always be a need for that. I was wondering why Ukraine would need a navy given what they’ve proven in the Black Sea…
  2. Western culture is to blame for lower birth rates? China after reading that
  3. Am I the only one that sees that as a new low for Russia? what a fucking disgrace of a society.
  4. Optics and morale be damned, Ukraine needs to fortify along these lines to provide some insurance against a Russian breakthrough if there’s a hiccup in allied support or manpower. Russia still wants more Ukrainian territory (like Odesa so they can go for Moldova) and they still want a puppet leader in Kyiv.
  5. Hopefully it wasn’t like this Turkish MP https://www.reddit.com/r/worldnewsvideo/comments/18go712/turkish_mp_says_that_israel_will_suffer_the_wrath/
  6. Disclaimer: not certain this chart is accurate, but if it is, it seems to tell an interesting story. OPEC has been steadily cutting production trying to drive up the price per barrel. Russia can’t afford to cut production. Is the US weaponizing production (by quietly incentivizing producers?) or is it actually profitable for us to produce like this at $69/barrel? No matter the motivation, this has to be hurting Russia so I love to see it.
  7. It’s really insane. From an ignorant American’s perspective, there’s no excuse for Russia being unable to defeat Ukraine. But from the top down, their society is unrecognizable to an average American. Demonstrably, the average Russian male has more value to Putin being killed by a $200 Ukrainian built kamikazi drone than he does serving in Russian society. Putin hits the proverbial jackpot when Ukraine has to use a western provided weapon like a cluster strike on these conscripts because it means western societies will have to debate more support sooner. Meat assaults will continue until Russia collapses or the west gets tired of killing them.
  8. From intercepted phone calls home, they go somewhere in Russia for about 6 days of check the box training where they get to unload a full TWO or maybe even THREE magazines. From there, straight to the front with a few magazines and no food or water. What’s the point? They’ll be dead in a week. They do get drugs and vodka though, which surely helps ease the pain of bleeding to death from treatable injuries. There’s no cover at all and they’re ordered down paths the Ukrainian drones and artillery are already aimed at. It’s really something
  9. They’ve been conscripting the whole time. They “train” troops so quickly that they’re still able to replace every troop they lose to maintain an active army of 300-400k. It is largely accurate that they no longer have a professional army. Neither does Ukraine.
  10. The number of blue checked Russian propaganda pieces in the comments is discouraging… good thing musk nurtured this festering wound

    Bert!

Let him keep flying under everyone’s radar
  12. Nice humble brag, well played sir. Also, Hook ‘Em! I couldn’t justify those ticket prices but I’m thankful for folks like yourself that did
  13. So you mean it has no real strategic value and all it gives us is negotiating leverage with other oil producers? Or am I missing it?
  14. Given the events of the last few years, it seems short sighted to assume we don’t need the SPR. I realize we only import like 3% of our oil from the Middle East but if China invades Taiwan and we lose a lot of our pacific fleet, it doesn’t seem crazy to assume Iran and Houthis could disrupt flow out of the ME precisely when our national consumption (and that of our allies) will surge. why do you think it’s not a problem? If it’s cool that we physically can’t refill our SPR, what do we even have it for?
  15. Ok so per that article the SPR is about half full at 350M barrels. At 3M barrels per month it will take … TEN years to refill? Holy fuckin shit, that seems like a problem.
  16. On that note, it seems like a good time to at least partially refill the strategic reserve. We’re not still depleting it, are we?
  17. The unfortunate reality is that we can’t afford to take on much greater deficit with interest rates increasing debt payments to $1T and rising. Inflation could easily spike again if we fuck around, and then the appetite to support Ukraine (or anyone) will really turn. We need Israel and Saudi to hold the Middle East together while we support Ukraine with scraps, to hold Russia in forever war until they collapse, while our focus is containing China.
  18. I don’t know if I agree with that take. Russia is getting smoked by cheap ass FPV drones. They’re losing like a thousand to ten thousand men per kilometer they take from Ukraine right now. We have a fuck load more firepower around Taiwan and taiwan itself isn’t as defenseless as Ukraine was. What exactly is Hezbollah waiting for if they’re not deterred?
  19. Is that real? There’s no way espn disrespected him like that… right? I mean, fuck that guy but that’s Onion level shit if that really happened
  20. Does she have some disease causing the leg swelling?
  21. Smells like bluster but let’s entertain it. What country is Russia diverting troops to when it thinks it can hold the Crimean land bridge with reduced manpower?
  22. Profile pic doesn’t have a C5 corvette in the background
