  1. Might be a chicken and egg thing. But if you go look at the last 20 years there are like 4 or 5 years where the game is not the 2nd saturday in October and it always lines up with the fair dates. FYI the fair dates for 2024 are set.
  2. I think OU will be the 5th, it is usually the 2nd Saturday of the fair.
  3. In the past when the first schedule came out the game was always on Saturday, then closer to the season start date an announcement would be made moving it to Thursday, it will be interesting to see if that happens.
  4. I get why that can happen but it seems like a dumb move by the committee. That is just going to anger and confuse people. If they already know any one loss conference champ is going to be ahead of them there is no harm leaving all three ahead. The ones that lose will fall behind Ohio state for the poll that matters anyway.
  5. If the committee puts Ohio State behind 1 loss Oregon, Bama, and us they would be sending a sign that conference championships matter since those are the teams that have qualified to play for one. If Ohio State somehow ends up somewhere in the middle of this group then I will concede all the weight I am putting being a conference champ is wrong and maybe a 1 loss non-champ can be in. But I suspect Ohio State is going to land at 8 and the bottom of the one loss list.
  6. Here we go again - we should put tags under people’s names. The 11-1 Bama will pass Texas camps and The 11-1 Bama will not pass Texas camp There is a close to zero chance 2 teams from any conference are going no matter who they are.
  7. To be fair, if they beat Washington then they will have two wins against comparable teams. (i think we still have the argument based on overall SOS).
  8. Yeah I agree - i was more agreeing the game day crew don’t know shit.
  9. What game were you at? This was one of the better crowds of the season. Even the students made it by kickoff.
  10. Yeah but at the same time Kirk was saying we were in if we win next week and the debate would be between Oregon and an undefeated FSU.
  11. 2 that is the big disagreement. I would put that one on “unknown” i personally think it is 60/40 Texas at that point. How you can declare it as “highly probable” is just as insane as those saying it is “highly probable” Texas would get in for the same situation.
  12. Should any of these scenarios play out the internet debate for the 12-14 hours from the last game on the 2nd to the announcement on then 3rd are going to be fun.
  13. You know that has more to do with the odds of each of those teams winning out than anything else right? I bet the odds of Texas winning its next two games and the odds of Texas making the playoffs are virtually equal.
  14. I agree - just pointing out anything can still happen.
  15. Auburn beats Bama, bama beats Georgia.
  16. If Texas and Bama win out the committee has new information too i suppose. Alabama won the SEC and Texas beat the SEC champ. The SEC basis of the committee could allow them to make any changes they want after that.
  17. I think this is the one way an undefeated FSU gets left out. The committee can get both Texas and Bama in and blame the injury.
  18. This They have shown us over and over conference championships matter among teams with similar records. There is no reason to think that will not hold true unless you just want to believe they want to fuck over Texas.
  19. Nah - it looks like it is just a power struggle over those that want to go fast and make money on AI and those that want to go slow and be careful. https://www.theverge.com/2023/11/18/23967199/breaking-openai-board-in-discussions-with-sam-altman-to-return-as-ceo
  20. What the actually fuck https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/38913428/big-12-wwe-pairing-hands-title-belt-conference-championship-mvp
  21. It feels like this story isn’t over. Lawyers are going to be involved.
  22. And in that scenario we would both have a late season conference championship win. I am in the camp that if only 1 one loss team gets in and it’s between us and Alabama, we are the ones getting in. H2H games have to matter between conference champions, otherwise we should never play those games.
  23. NSIAP https://theathletic.com/5024796/2023/11/02/big-ten-coaches-call-michigan-sign-stealing/?source=twitterhq Great quotes in there.
  24. When people say that, I take it to mean the scenario where a one loss Texas gets left out means there is most likely 4 undefeated conference champions in front of us. And honestly the idea that there is a 4 undefeated confrence champions does still seam like a stretch.
