  1. Thanks - makes total sense. “She wanted a set portion of OUR estate set aside in an irrevocable trust for either of our care while alive (after the first death) and then to the kids (after the second death). Third party trustees are in place for that. That protects some of OUR assets for the kids and my next wife can only spend the rest.“ This is what we have done as well. She will have an eventual inheritance we have not talked about yet so good to think about that too.
  2. Leander as well, all back to normal in these parts.
  3. I think the districts that encompass large geographically areas will be on a delay (Leander) but I bet AISD is on time. By this afternoon if the snow is mostly melted they will be in time I bet.
  4. Sun is now out shining and the surface snow is melting pretty quickly/
  5. Mix of snow and sleet here in 78730
  6. I am curious on what made her content? My Wife’s granddad left most of his estate to his 2nd wife he was married to less then 5 years and it caused my wife the same fears. In our estate plan, if she dies first part of her estate (half the joint estate) goes into trusts for the kids, but not all of it since it also our joint retirement savings. You come up with anything different?
  7. LISD closed on Tuesday as well to complete the area.

    Sonos thread

This move was long past due. I also have about 10 products and I think they sound great. But what Sonos did rushing out the app updated really alienated their loyal fanbase. Now they are a high priced product with a base that is going to be reluctant to embrace them until they demonstrate they have a plan to fix their software issues. Spence destroyed so much goodwill the company had, I hope they make it but I have a feeling someone is going to end up buying them up.
  9. me too! Then I remembered I only run if I am being chased.
  10. Yes, that is what we do. It was even better when Austin had direct flights to PVR, it was less then a 2 hour flight, closer then Cancun or Cabo.
  11. For us at least much more a stay at the resort spot. You could go into the little town but there is not a ton there, there are some cool beach bars in the area you could check out.
  12. I don’t know but it sure seems like it would be fun to find out.
  13. We stayed in the Naviva section last year and are going in a couple weeks. It is an amazing place.
  14. It’s beautiful, people are very friendly. Easy drive from PVR. Four seasons has a awesome resort there
  15. New update…this journey can be a roller coaster. So in Early December when they saw the spots on her lung there was also a spot in her right leg, they didn’t seem concerned but ordered a MRI anyway. After we learned her lungs were infection, we got a call about her leg and were told “MRI confirms it is cancer, we need to start a new chemo treatment.” We agreed to get the ball rolling on setting up the new chemo regime, but also asked to do a biopsy to confirm the mets in her leg (13mm spot). Last week we have a CT biopsy for her leg, and the spots were gone, doctors took it as confirmation it was infection or a blood clot….she never got to the chemo due to just taking a while to schedule. So radiologist can be wrong…i am kinda annoyed the doctor did not insist on a biopsy first but going forward we know to ask and push for it.
  16. I mean you can do it, but you are going to burn any remaining bridges at the old company. Up to you if that matters in this field, depending on how tight knit the field is word will get around. Or if you are a few years from retiring anyway you might not give a fuck.
  17. Ditto, but since they haven’t even said what space in Palazzo it is going into, I think it might be awhile still.
  18. I mean it might work? East and West 6th don’t have the same problem and they allow traffic. I think of a city like Chicago, and most of those streets are open to traffic with tons of bar hopping happening. It’s Austin so I am sure we will fuck it up somehow. But I like the idea of not encouraging more people to hang out in the street.
  19. Way to evict it’s ass!
  20. That makes sense with Picasso closing as well.
  21. Interesting, I only went there once and when we wanted Tapas mostly went to Jaleo, next door. Any news if it is going to be another Serrano concept?
  22. Honestly this game still feels very winnable. We started to make progress on the run game on that last drive with some tempo. Quinn is starting to move. The D is playing overall pretty damn good. Let’s see a 3 and out to start the half.

    Bert!

Yeah, I feel like if we had to switch both he is just not going to try anything over 35 yards or something.
  24. The market really didn’t like those job numbers. Double expectation jobs = inflation fears = no interest rate cuts.
