  1. Poll from AP/Norc/USAFacts says social media is the most popular source of daily government information: Other highlights:
  2. She wants to. She is putting out that she is being "pressured" to jump in, hoping there will be an outpouring of support. I don't see that happening though. Her window has closed.
  3. Trump did not release the Ukraine aid. State Department lawyers determined that it could be released and that the White House had no standing to hold it up. Bolton in the middle of it. His testimony could be key.
  4. Must have used Trump's pollsters.
  5. Nice list of the biggest orange lipped members of the GoP. The fan reaction gives me some hope that maybe I won't need to extend my stay in Asia another four years.
  6. I think we would only have picked up the Coastal Carolina game as a win with Dearmon calling plays. Maybe WVU, but we kind of lucked into the win vs. Tech with the bonehead play at the end. I'll keep that WVU game as an L due to that. So 4-4 with a good shot at a bowl game. Dearmon has made a hell of a difference in our offense. I just hope it continues and he can adapt once other teams get a good amount of film on his schemes. KU has an outside shot at a bowl game this year, which I would never have expected at the start of this season. I thought 3 wins was our ceiling, and probably was if Koenning was still OC. We have some good WRs and some strong RBs. Stanley should have been starting the last couple years, but that dumb ass Beaty could never see it. I think every season by the end, Stanley was starting; but, only after whatever QB Beaty had brought in that year to be the starter, shit the bed. The OL is still not very good, but Stanley has mobility and with our RBs playing well, other teams have to respect the run. The defense is doing better than I expected, considering how depleted we are there. Until we get some depth and some DL talent it will constantly struggle. Special teams are terrible again. Our FG/PAT team is the worst I have ever seen. How many blocked kicks and missed FG/PATs do we have this season? Probably due again to our lack of talent on the OL. The kicker is probably crap as well, but hard to judge when the OL is being pushed back into him. Special teams will continue to suck until we get some talented depth or play more starters on them. To take a big step forward we have to get some talent and depth on the defensive and offensive lines.
  7. If my hours of playing DotA2 with Russians taught me anything, it is that Russians love to call people dogs when they are unhappy. Maybe he picked it up over the years from all the Russians he has helped launder cash for over the last few decades. Maybe he heard Putin use it and wants to emulate him. Who knows. Looked it up: In the Russian Orthodox past, the dog was considered an unclean animal, as elsewhere in the world. Now, “dog” serves as an abusive interjection, when one wants to express annoyance. Calling someone a dog would mean you disapprove: “My cat has knocked over the flower pots again, the dog!”
  8. For those of us are college sports fans, the final tally by conference (some states count in multiple conferences): SEC (34), ACC (19), B12 (14), B1G (12), and Pac (5).
  9. Pence, if he comes out of this unscathed, to a resigning or voted out Trump, "About that pardon? Psych!! Keep your butthole tight!"
  10. In South Korea, I have eaten Australian and American beef (it is marked on all the beef for sale where it is from). South Korean as well. There is no difference in the taste of the Australian and American beef. The South Korean beef is better, probably due to being fresher than the imported beef, but it costs twice as much as well.
  11. With KU football it is best to hope for the best, but expect the worst, because that is what you will get most often. Too many KU fans drank the kool aid on Miles turning this around quickly. For me, this year and next year are kind of like Beaty's first two years - low expectations. Next year is likely going to be worse than this year, as the juco recruiting the last couple years under Beaty, will probably bite us hard. Year 3 is when we should be seeing some forward momentum. If not, my hope for Miles is the same as for Beaty (who failed at it). That hope is that Miles gets some solid high school talent in numbers into the program for the next coach. Of course, for a decade this has not happened.
  12. One Friday night a few years ago, I got on the subway in South Korea, sat down and looked across the isle at the seats on the other side of the train facing me. Right across from me is a 50-something dude drunk off his ass. His dentures are sitting on his piss covered crotch. As I am getting off the train at my stop, I take one last look at him and he is popping his dentures back in his mouth.
  13. Fuck this stupid ass motherfucker! You are the president of the goddamn U.S. of fucking A. Be a leader for once in your pathetic life. If you see some part of the country suffering in squalor, you can fucking do something about rather than pointing a finger at others and moaning about it on Twitter like a fucking drama queen. You have the vast resources of the federal government at your disposable. JFC, this guy would not know leadership, even if Lincoln, FDR, and Washington smashed him in the face with their 100 pound cocks. When you are the guy at the top, you are responsible for those under you. Some will not need your help and others will, to get shit done, for one reason or another. Failing to get shit done is just not your subordinates failure, but yours as well. As president you hope the successes will outnumber the failures greatly, but there will plenty of failures no matter what. This herpes sore on the asshole of America, fucking only wants credit for successes and turns a blind eye to all the failures or lies about them being successes, or worse uses them for political gain rather than addressing them, like every other worthless politician in this county. I welcome the day our AI overlords take over and take care of us like the giant fucking babies we have become. Shit might actually get accomplished.
  14. Give them a break after they run out of fingers and toes, they just have to ballpark it!
  15. The average was taken from 79-83 as baseline and I remember 1980 was hot as hell. Was over 100 F nearly everyday that summer in Kansas. So maybe they took a hot five year average as baseline as well. Probably hotter than average, as the graph dipped below the baseline the following few years after 1983.
  16. Summer camp is newest front in battle with measles outbreak
  17. Trump back to his old tricks. Trump campaign refuses to pay for rally
  18. It's kind of shitty, just like the Trump re-election campaign and the RNC merging their field and fundraising programs into a joint program called "Trump Victory"? Wonder how much fairness Weld and any other candidates who might announce will be shown by the RNC.
  19. A decade ago I quit a job I hated on the spur of the moment, and while I was looking for a more permanent position, I took a job at a private children's ranch to help with expenses. It was for kids that had gotten in trouble with the law, but the state felt they had extenuating circumstances that caused their bad behavior (usually mental health related stuff), so instead of being put in the juvenile system, they were sent to live in group home with other children their age and attend a school run by the group home (ranch). When the kids were not in school they stayed in one of the group homes where they were supervised by 2 staff at all times. I had a job as a supervisor in one of those houses. A lot of these kids had severe emotional issues. Because of that staff were given access to their files so we could better understand their situations. A large percentage of these kids, boys and girls, had been sexually abused/raped. Parents letting their drug dealers rape their kids for drugs. parents pimping out their kids for cash, parents/relatives raping the kids in their care, kids getting raped by their parent's friends (often drug related) who crashed at their house. Stomach turning shit to read about, life altering shit for these kids to experience. The girls homes were the worst. A lot of these girls were cutters and had nasty scars up and down their arms and legs. They also were the ones who had the highest incidence of sexual abuse. The ranch had a policy of only using physical restraint in cases of the children being a danger to themselves or others. The supervisors in these girls homes were always female, but when girls where a danger to themselves or others they would call in male staff from other homes to help with the situation because of what always happened next. It sucked major ass to be called to one of these girls homes to help out. When male staff were forced to restrain them for their own safety, they would start screaming they were being raped and almost always 2-3 other girls would start freaking out as well due to flashbacks about the abuse they had experienced and often had to be restrained as well due to trying to self harm or attacking staff/other girls. It would just turn into a chain meltdown among the other females in the house due to what these girls had experienced. I can't even imagine the extra damage these girls would have experienced to their mental health, if forced to carry a baby to term from the incest/rape many had gone through. And if they kept the baby and tried to raise it, the damage that would have likely resulted to the child due to the mother's fragile mental health. Why do you think people who go to prison for crimes against children are brutalized by the prison population if they find out? It's because the prisons are full of people who were physically and sexually abused as children. Unfortunately, sexual abuse of minors is far more common than we would like to think.
  20. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled, was convincing Jesus he wanted Hillary Clinton to win the presidency.
  21. People are pretty much the same all over the world. Most are good, a few are bad. Some are smart, some are dumb. Some work hard, some don't. Most just want a better life for themselves and their families. More Americans need to travel abroad and learn this. Too bad only like 1/3 of us even have passports. You get a better perspective on people and the strengths and weaknesses of the USA when you live or visit other countries for an extended period of time and get to know the locals.
