  1. Trumpkin - Hey now, I said fuck your feelings. Not fuck MY feelings.
  2. Probably he will get the rest of the OOC and first B12 game as Jhawk said. If he is 0-4 he should be fired, then again I thought he should have been canned after last season was nearly as bad as his 0-12 first year. I figured if we lost this game there is a really good chance we go 0-12 again. I had no expectations the first 2 seasons as we were in a scholarship hole and he was a reach as a head man, seemed like a nice guy, and would need some time to grow into the job. Last year we should have taken a step forward and it was a terrible. Nothing looked like it should on a team that is bad, but improving. This year will be as bad as last year, and maybe worse than the 0-12 first year. We should have kept Mangino and sent him to anger counseling like most schools would have done with a successful coach and closely monitored his behavior after; however, Mangino was supposedly a giant asshole to nearly everyone in the AD. When you are an asshole you get no breaks. Nobody wants to do you any favors. Our AD at the time hated Mangino, so he used the issue to get rid of him. Things have thawed between KU and Mangino lately. The people who got rid of him are all gone now. I doubt they would rehire him as HC, but, I'd love to bring him on as a consultant to the next coach. He knows how to do well at KU.
  3. I hope they let him coach the entire season, or late into the season, so he completely owns the stinky turd he created. The only way I'd prefer to see him fired early in the year is if they want to evaluate certain coaches on the current staff with more responsibility for a few games. But in the end, I'll trust Long to fire him when he deems it best for the program going forward. I think AD Long will get this turned around and make us competitive again. I can't wait for this season to be over to see who he can convince to take the job. I have a feeling we will pay really well (4M+), so somebody solid should bite.
  4. Nope, just tilting with them.
  5. God is funny that way. He almost 99% of the time wants you to do what you already wanted to do anyway.
  6. Greatly increased odds of meeting Russian fives.
  7. Everyone kills it at Texas when you guys are good, and often when you are not. Texas is a legendary FB program, is a great university, and located in a fun place. It pretty much recruits itself. But feel free to pick him up when he gets canned.
  8. It takes the dicks like this and jerks up and down until the jar is filled. Whoop!
  9. You do not want Beaty. He has supposedly pissed off Texas high school coaches somehow. His biggest selling point when he was hired was that he could recruit TX lights out. The rumor he is not welcome in TX high schools is probably true based on the number of TX kids he has been getting. Texas kids recruited to KU under Beaty: 2015: 17 2016: 10 2017: 5 2018: 2 You want to go after RB coach and Asst. Head Coach Tony Hull. He is the guy killing it in recruiting and why we have landed a handful of four stars out of LA the last couple years.
  10. When did Woody Allen become a Trumpkin?
  11. This reminds me of something that happened to my sister's brother-in-law. He was in a meeting at work and his wife calls him and hysterically tells him to come to highway X, where she has pulled over to the median, and help her. She has a situation. He told her to call a garage to come deal with her car, but she says it is not her car, and that he has to come help her himself. Now he understands his wife is the perfect blonde stereotype and that it will be something ridiculous; however, it is his wife so he excuses himself from the meeting and drives out to where she is pulled over. He gets there and she is standing outside the car. He asks her what is the problem and she says "it" is under the driver's seat and he needs to remove "it". So he asks what "it" is and she says a turtle. So of course he asks how the hell a turtle got under the driver's seat. She says she was driving down the highway and saw a turtle crossing the road. She pulled over and picked it up and put it under the driver's seat so it would not get run over. She drove off and everything was fine for a few minutes until the turtle started to trying to bite her feet as she is driving. That is when she pulled over to the median to call him for help. She says the turtle is very angry. He goes to the car and opens the driver's side door to see this turtle, basically expecting a small box turtle or something. Turns out his wife had picked up a full grown snapping turtle and stuck it under her driver's seat.
  12. Give him some credit. It is the nicest thing Trump has ever done. Those Starbursts will cost $20 after the Tariff Wars have begun..
  13. Trump administration pulls US out of UN human rights council
  14. You are right. Kim is not going to just throw everything open and embrace the global economy. South Korea already has factories in NK near the DMZ. Whenever SK and NK get into a "serious" spat they are closed down for a bit by NK until things settle down. Probably be a similar story for any company who opens a factory there. NK will allow a few foreign managers there to oversee things, but NK will basically control the factory and everything that happens there. The NK workers will continue to get paid peanuts while Kim and his regime pocket the profits. NK will shut down all operations anytime they feel slighted by the companies country of origin. Any businesses allowed in will be tightly controlled. A regime that still puts people in prison camps for things their grandparents did decades ago is not suddenly going to embrace the modern world.

  16. Betting against KU on the road is about the closest thing to free money you can find.
  17. Japan and South Korea are not paying for any military action we start. Trump is going to give South Korea and Japan the last reason they need to go nuclear. If Japan and South Korea can't depend on the USA and it's nuclear deterrent as an ally, they will take care of business themselves. One or both countries will likely have nukes in the near future.
  18. Finally. Hope next guy/gal cleans house in the AD.
  19. Trump is a walking, breathing Dunning-Kruger effect.
  20. NK had little chance of giving up their nukes anyway, but pulling out of the Iran deal, before the summit, sent the message that the US could not be trusted to honor it's nuclear agreements. I feel for the SK president Moon Jae-in. He is a legitimately good guy and has led an interesting life. It must be hard being stuck working with Trump and Kim on a peace agreement. He must feel like Sisyphus. From his wiki:
  21. We must be from the same area and about the same age. I was a freshman (not on varsity) the year my HS played Barry Sanders in the districts, his senior year, after he moved to running back. We had an all-state player at DB who we thought was fast (ended up going to WSU as a WR a year or two before they dropped the FB program). Barry went the distance and just smoked our all state player. Guy told me a couple years later he felt like he was running in water chasing after him. My dad played versus John Riggins the one year he played football. Would have been 1A (smallest 11 man) or even 8 man. He got his clocked cleaned trying to tackle Riggins. Didn't play the rest of the game. Probably had a concussion. My dad sad everyone from the area thought John's older brother was a better football player, but his brother gave up college to go home and farm. Guess his older brother's heart was in farming, not football. Best guy I played with was Jim Hanna. Was a 4 year starter in baseball, basketball and football. All-state in at least 2 (probably all 3) of them. Was a 6'5" man in 8th grade. Was offered by OU among other football offers. Went to an open Royals tryout. Hit a homer in the stadium when the fences were way back and it was very hard to go yard in. The Royals offered him a minor league contract after the tryout. Declined it and ended up going to Kansas to play baseball. But he had a weakness. He was already having knee surgery in middle school. Had to give up baseball at KU. His knees just could not take the sports grind any longer. Pretty sure he could have been a NFL TE if he had good knees.
