This Russian mobilization might have eventually paid off if they had time to properly train and equip the mobilized soldiers. Instead, Russia is going to have a bunch of ill-equipped, untrained, and unmotivated soldiers freezing and starving their asses off in the winter, while the Ukrainians will be running around in winter gear they get from NATO, being fed regularly and using a bunch of state of the art NATO weapons versus Soviet era weapons for the Russians. The Russians will surrender in droves. Even threats against them and their families won't work when they are freezing, starving, and dying. The war for Russia over the next few months will likely be such a shit show in casualties and damage to the economy/social fabric from so many men being dragged off to fight, that the next planned mobilizations will make the current protests and men fleeing the country look quaint by comparison to what will occur then. Ukraine should regain most of it's lost territory before the end of winter, unless Russia does something really stupid like use a nuke or biological/chemical weapons. Hopefully, Putin is replaced before he can do even greater harm.
