  1. Audis and VW's with the 2.0T just seem to have way too many issues. I love the design of the A3 and A4 wagons, but can't justify owning one. I've worked on two of the VW/Audi 2.0T motors and would not recommend it. CT200h is a car that seems good on paper and just fails utterly in real life. Given your current considerations, I'd strongly suggest a Mazda 3.
  2. The number of guys that buy $200k+ supercars and don't spend a dollar on driver training blows my mind and "grinds my gears." "I know how to drive."
  3. Paging Kevin. Kevin to the courtesy phone.
  4. We just don't want other generations appropriating our culture!
  5. Seeing the Dem's rally around Kamala/Walz and avoid the infighting that was previously rampant will pay massive dividends in the coming election. I'm not a Democrat, but watching them set up an offense against the likes of Trump actually gives me some faith in US politics. Every Dem that I've seen speak, recently, has been clear and intelligent. I hope they can continue the momentum and that they absolutely dominate this election.
  6. "But, she's claiming she's black . . ." If I trademark "Super DEI Candidate", can I make money off FOX News?
  7. Have a couple. In fairness, we just went through a move, and the stress has been high. Round one: Wife connected me with a woman that could help with some sewing that I needed done, and thus there was a common text thread. Sitting at the kitchen counter with her next to me, I sent some photos in the text thread, and sent the text, "These pictures should cover it." 30 seconds later, as I'm furiously typing an explanation of what the pictures mean, my wife asks, "Are you going to give her anymore information about the project?" I felt there were two logical options: tone or extreme sarcasm. As I was already stretched pretty thin, I went for tone and said, "What do you think I'm doing right now?" Needless to say. I'm the asshole. Round two: I'm downstairs, she's upstairs with the vacuum running and I hear some random question. I respond loudly with, "What?!" Although the other 99% of the times, I get told that she can't hear me because I'm too quiet, this time was not the one that I was supposed to preemptively solve for that issue. Unbeknownst to me, but beknownst to her, my response was "too angry for me." In the future, I plan to act like I didn't hear anything to save myself the trouble.
  8. Let's be honest, I'm pretty new to this. Up until this thread, I didn't realize that a couch could have a f*ckability rating.
  9. 8, 9, 10, 6, 5, 7, 2, 3, 4, 1 - JD Vance
  10. "We have a new victim to defeat." So, he sexually assaulted Kamala as well?
  11. Agree completely with your Ferrari rankings. The only modern Lambo that I think is worth owning is the Huracan Performante. I feel like they did a fantastic job with that car in general, and the Performante was the best version of it. If you don't like the Miura or the Countach (older the better), then we can't be friends. I think those deserve a slot just for visual appeal.
  12. Not trying to throw shade, but I've had friends with SF90's that have sold them pretty quickly. They dropped pretty hard on the used market as well. I know it's their "entry level" car, but the 296 seems to be a much better car for the somewhat longer term.
  13. I've posed this question to car friends of mine - Can anyone show me a bad color for a 911? I don't know if their marketing altered my brain as a child, but I've literally seen 911's in baby shit brown, and thought, "That's a great looking car." Something about the proportions of the car just make it beautiful in every and any color. And I'd also love to see a Singer build thread.
  14. Noticed some new behavior that I thought was worth sharing. Wife's car typically goes in the garage, but it's had to stay outside for a few days. On multiple occasions, she's made the effort to install the sun shade in the window (a noteworthy win), but chose to leave the shade for the moonroof open. I'm not sure she's grasping the core concept.
  15. Toyota Avalon? Guy definitely has something wrong with him. That's the car equivalent of Oprah.
  16. Like I'm afraid. They could start with a convoy and none of them would make it to my place. Only things that are less reliable are made in England . . .
  17. Doesn't matter what's in the bin, wives aren't going to move it.
  18. Thought I finally had achieved a win, and gotten my wife to travel the path that is completely forbidden for women. No, not anal. The path to the garbage pan and the recycling bin. About a week ago, I walk into the kitchen after having been commuting to work for 7 out of the last 10 days and pulling fairly long days. Yes, I understand this is called "daily life" for most households, but as we both work from home, it was rather unusual. Sitting on the counter was 4 or 5 items that needed to go in the recycling bin. Unfortunately, they couldn't fit in the under-counter bin, as it was full, and for my wife, that's a problem that cannot be solved. I breathed an exasperated sigh in her presence, loaded up both arms, and headed out the door for the journey over Mount Doom to our recycling bin. Fortunately, I avoided all of the pitfalls of my landscaped backyard and returned unscathed. Flash forward to this weekend. We're at the lake house, and by some miracle (maybe alcohol-induced bravery?), my wife brought the full recycling bin from the kitchen down to the municipal bin and emptied it. The kitchen bin, however, remained outside. This morning, I bring the dogs out, see the bin, and bring it back upstairs. I place the bin back in it's holder, but it doesn't seat fully, as there's a can in it that my wife tossed in, earlier. I'm not sure if I count this as a win, a loss, or a draw. An effort was made, but there was still no real reduction in work for me, as I still had to walk out and return the bin, and then the annoyance of the can in the holder.
  19. Overpriced POS describes every Jeep made, IMO.
  20. What in the Rube Goldbergian hell am I looking at? I get that it's a brake master cylinder, but why the hell does it go into a manifold with a sensor in it and only two lines coming out? Only thing I can think of is that the sensor tells you if you've lost pressure in the front or rear lines.
  21. My whiskey fund thanks you.
  22. I know this is a stonk, so it could be down because someone farted in Argentina, but is there any reason not to grab more at this price?
  23. Don't (DO!) look at https://cajungunworks.com/ for some fun upgrades.
