  1. Perhaps the empty wine bottle is of signifIcance.
  2. More importantly, further down the article is brief mention of failure to get septic permits, for what will likely be a large operation, including families currently living there in trailers. This is close to the Colorado River and water/septic should be meticulous.
  3. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-06-15/elon-musk-s-boring-co-is-feuding-with-texas-over-a-driveway?srnd=technology-vp
  4. I just watched the George Strait and Willie Nelson vid. Hardest part of growing old is watching friends and legends get old and die. The time in life when funerals take up too much of your time. My friends and I wonder who will be the next.
  5. Age to obtain firearms should be raised to, at least 25. Below from Nature.com Most, if not all of these shooters are young men in the below age range. Not the solution but a part of the solution. This is the first large-scale epidemiological meta-analysis that includes all available general population birth, cross-sectional and incidence studies investigating the age at onset of any ICD/DSM-mental disorders. Overall, the global onset of the first mental disorder occurs before age 14 in one-third of individuals, age 18 in almost half (48.4%), and before age 25 in half (62.5%), with a peak/median age at onset of 14.5/18 years across all mental disorders.
  6. No apologies needed. I'm just venting...and looking for someone to finish it. Deck done. Just need someone who knows where to glue what and help me program. I'm in Austin. I know I'm going to pay a premium...no one likes sloppy seconds.
  7. Mine rides in the blind spot, for fucking ever. I tell her go on and pass. She says she’s afraid they’ll change lanes. I say so go on and just ride behind them but get out of the fucking blind spot. Dammit!! Tone.
  8. I guess I look foolish for expecting someone to show up when they say they will and then nothing. This project started April 2021. Over a year. I’m frustrated. I’ve been involved in 4 home remodels and 3 office finish outs so I’m familiar with the time frames, but a year is past what I’ve put up with before. I appreciate your input.
  9. Please recommend a builder in Austin who will finish a pool that’s 90% done. I haven’t seen my builder in 10 days and I always get the “tomorrow “ answer. I’ve paid every invoice, even a bit over but for reasons unknown I’ve been abandoned. Several jets that have been plumbed but not installed. 5 laminars plumbed but not installed. Zero edge drip basin installed but not painted. I can’t stand anymore “tomorrow “ answers. I look foolish. This has been a pattern and I need to get the picture. It’s not going to get better.
  10. So this is a hobby, this hole digging?
  11. I was raised on Karo Syrup and evaporated milk. It worked fine. I am now old. Graduated from The University of Texas with high honors so it didn't do any brain damage. Used to barefoot waterski (before I got so darn old) so it didn't do any physical damage.
  12. I have half dozen cases of whiskey stashed away. I'm going to drink my way through the holocaust.
  13. I thought there was universal surl hatred of it, but doing a little historical searching, I see that it was only a couple of people on the unpopular food opinions thread, and that was from a couple of years ago. You know how time compresses when you're old...I thought it was a couple of months ago.
  14. While sitting to empty my bowels I generally empty my bladder as well. With the age related ball sag I often piss on my balls. It's both disconcerting and infuriating.
  15. I’m in the repair process for an above ground concrete pool. It’s suspended on concrete pillars. From underneath it looks sort of like a commercial parking lot suspension system. All that l long way to tell you how I can see the bottom side of the pool and specifically the bottom of the in floor pool cleaning heads. About half of the heads have very slow drip drip drips. Maybe a gallon total per day. Should I expect some minor leakage from these or should I demand 100% waterproof from the builder.
  16. What do you recommend for storage Something that's not nasty.
  17. I’ve had Erlewine do 5 jobs for me over the past 10-15 years. From glueing the head back on my ‘67 SG to a string change on a Martin. Every time it’s been crazy expensive and every time it’s been perfect. I play like shit so I need all the help I can get. What I read above sounds like he wants to adjust the truss rod rather than replace it. Still an expensive bid. I’d say it depends on how much you like the guitar and if you plan to keep it.
  18. Just buy a place in Coon's new project on Lake Austin. The condo won't look like a sideways pussy on a hillside, but at least you'll have some trees.
  19. A Salty Dog is one of my top 10, maybe top 5.
  20. Maine Coons are great cats. Sorry man.
  21. Well, not exactly, but I have more stuff than I can store. Both my brother-in-law and my father died in 2021 and I "inherited" all their stuff, this is in addition to decades of my own crap. My conundrum is that it's too good to throw away, but in quantities to small to make it worth trying to sell it. For example, three packages of steel wool. Many boxes of nails and screws. Boxes of bed clothing in like new condition. Outdoor temporary lighting on stakes. Dozens of extension cords. Numerous duplicate tools. My mother's books she used in elementary school 100 years ago. On and on. Goodwill wouldn't take the 100's of books so I recycled them. Habitat for Humanity doesn't want three boxes of nails. I don't want to spend the rest of my life driving to various charity organizations "begging" them to take this stuff. Charities may start accepting more stuff when covid settles down, but at present they won't take many things because of the supposed risk of infection. I don't have the patience to open an ebay account and that wouldn't be cost effective. What can I do with the accumulated crap from three guys?
