  1. I'm also a Rian Johnson fan and think he's brilliant. The first episode was really good, a lot more raw than what I expected, considering they kept mentioning Columbo in everything I've read. Columbo being in LA among the very rich and she's in whatever town she's in, and living in a old trailer in the desert. There were little things that reminded me of Columbo and the detective shows of that time, like the titles in the beginning of the episode having a 70's look. And the fact she comes across as not to smart but she's got that super power extra sense, like Columbo. This has been a nice surprise.
  2. New Amsterdam. I don't know if this show has been mentioned on this site, the last official episode was a couple of weeks ago on NBC. However, the full series is on Peacock but 4 seasons are on Netflix. My wife and I are into medical series for some reason, having binged watched Saving Hope (loved it) and The Resident. This one is actually based on a book by a real person and a real hospital in New York:Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital by Eric Manheimer. The name of the hospital and the main character who is a Medical Director have been changed. It's not a documentary. Great stories.
  3. These 2 QB’s just piss me off with envy.
  4. A rich moron.
  5. SF the better team for sure.
  6. Is Sark calling the plays?
  7. Dak earn your money!!!!
  8. And being paid like a Super Bowl winning QB.
  9. After 27 years still not ready for prime time.
  10. DeSantis is doing every thing he can to only appeal to a small group of voters. That may work for the primary where he has limited appeal but not on a national level. I've read he has a terrible personality as well as being a bully. Might work for MAGA, Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, just not sure who else. That doesn't sound like national appeal to me. But, the one thing he has going for him right now is his age.
  11. Grantchester and Miss Scarlett & the Duke.
  12. It also made me think of Gran Torino. But as you said, more uplifting and minus the violence. It's hard to know who will go and see this film. It does feel more directed to an older audience. There were 3 other people in the theater when the wife and I saw it, and they were older than us, and we're up there. But I loved the movie and it does make me want to now see the Swedish version.
  13. TCU’s defense is gassed.
  14. TCU’s fairytale season has hit a wall.
  15. Wow, what a crappy game. I guess just get it out of your system before the playoffs.
  16. I got OU and A&M. Who's the other rival? It better not be Tech.
  17. Looks like TCU did deserve to be in the top 4. Great game.
  18. What a difference this game looks like compared to OU/FSU. Both of those QB’s looked great to me. Quinn still looks lost.
  19. Well here we go again. Uggghhhh
  20. Daniel Day Lewis in My Left Foot is probably the greatest performance I’ve seen.
  21. You know it’s only a matter of time and probably sooner than we think. This is the kind of movie that would work beautifully and he’s the director to make it happen.
  22. I’m in for several more as well. I watched it tonight on Netflix. I still like the first one better but enjoyed this one. I could however watch Janelle Monáe all day and all night long. Interesting that close to the beginning you see Stephen Sondheim on a zoom meeting. Interesting that One, he died a year ago so was he dead then or was this filmed a year or two ago? AND, two, Sondheim co-wrote with Anthony Perkins one of my all-time favorite old movies The Last of Sheila. A similar kind of feel as the Knives Out movies and so were these movies influenced by that movie? I can see it.
  23. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/smartless/id1521578868?i=1000589723416 Loved this. Pretty funny and a great interview with James Cameron and his films, especially his approach over the years with technology that led him to creating Avatar.
