  1. Meyer is going to get booed off the field at every away game.
  2. I can't wait for the Gameday signs..... 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
  3. Correct. It's a Federal program, but the NCAA does comply with it and has their own program enforcing it. While Title IX is mainly focused on equal participation, benefits and discrimination, it's the sexual antics of Zach Smith on school property, on school time, and while he was representing the University (e.g. at the White House) that may be touching on a violation of some aspect of Title IX. (Not an attorney or compliance officer here). But the problem with the NCAA...you never know when they are going to strike, or rules they will try to enforce. They come down hard on some schools, yet let others off with a wrist slap for the same violations. Interesting we haven't heard much from them in a while. I wonder if "the powers that be" at the major universities finally stood up to them and told them to back off or they will disband from the NCAA. And I have no insight on this subject at all...just going by observation from the past few years versus the late 90s and early 2000s.
  4. As many have said here, this could be a Title IX violation, even thought it didn't directly involve any students, per se. We'll find out later today "if" or how this was reported to department heads and administrators. If nothing is said about how this was reported, tOSU administrators will have a lot of 'splainin' to do.
  5. Doesn't lack of inst control come after an actual NCAA violation or series of violations though? Not necessarily. NCAA can investigate a potential violation and find no real violation occurred, but find there is no "system" or procedure in place for reporting possible violations internally to department heads or administrators. Many schools were charged with this infraction in the late 90s and early 2000s, so now, most all have these procedures in place. Some schools even have a "Compliance Officer" on staff to make sure they follow the rules. That's why you now see schools self-reporting and giving themselves fines so the NCAA doesn't necessarily have to get involved.
  6. Also in my top five. Very underrated film. Soundtrack is up there with Goldfinger and Thunderball. I could go on and on.
  7. Seriously though, why would they give two shits? What NCAA rules were broken? "Lack of institutional control" or "Demonstrated failure to exert appropriate institutional control" is one of their favorite penalties.
  8. I thought someone said there will be college football games this weekend......
  9. So, where is the NCAA in all of this?
  10. Have one just like it in black with a red second hand. Perfect weekend watch for banging around.
  11. No. Strippers will always be named Brandy, Crystal, Tiffany, Amber, Candy, Cherry, Bambi, Star, Diamond, Lexie, Roxy, Chyna and Trixie.
  12. I grew up with a girl named Lidia. Of course we always teased her with: "Lidia, Lidia, is it true you have chlamydia"....
  13. Speaking of names that are part of the culture, we have names like Muffy, Buffy, Pippa, Bitsy, Izzy, Mimi, Sissy, Missy, Bunny and Tibby. (Please, when reading or saying these names aloud, please sit up straight and have your right pinky finger fully extended. Thank you.)
  14. Just remembered that from the article. While that's the good news, i certainly hope it doesn't end up with private equity investor bean counters with non-broadcast or non-live game broadcast experience.
  15. The Astros/Rockets have their own network in the Houston area, and it was briefly operated by Comcast/NBC-Universal. Have to say, the quality of the content and production was nothing short of outstanding. But the business part of the arrangement fell apart, mostly due to Comcast's failure to secure carriage deals with its competitors, primarily DirecTV, Dish Network and AT&T. Root Sports (owned by AT&T) ended up with the network, and is now branded AT&T Sportsnet Southwest. While the live game broadcasts are pretty good, the rest of the content sucks. I'd hate to think what a regional ESPN network would look like.
  16. It's tough to buy lumber online and have it delivered by USPS....
  17. Just saw it. UGH! Incredible talent and career. God bless Aretha and her family.
  18. Please, by all means, go ahead. But a word of warning...if you happen to drop your wallet, just keep walking.....
  19. Force field has been holding up strong in West Houston. Looks like we'll get through the weekend with only a few drops....
