  7. A doctor calls his patient and tells him his lab tests are in and to come to his office. The patient goes to the doctor's office, and the doctor says "I have some bad news. You are only expected to live for 2 more weeks". The doctor then hands the patient his invoice. The patient says, "Wow...this is a huge invoice...it will take me at least two months to pay it". "Ok", said the doctor...."you have an additional 8 weeks to live".
  8. The police came to my house, knocked on my door to tell me my dog was chasing kids on bikes. I told the police, that couldn't be true. My dog doesn't even own a bike.

  12. Forget the trendy and newfangled TV crap. Go with a long-standing and reliable brand like Philco or RCA. Can't go wrong.
  13. The Astros will cease to exist. They will simply close up shop and everyone will go home. The Rockets will also fold in a similar manner. To save itself, the Texans will move to San Antonio, but will ultimately meet its fate. There will be no reason for anyone to come downtown. Downtown will return to the seedy, empty cesspool and the homeless will take over again. This will also mean less visitors, and the Galleria will close. You see, one thing leads to another. And just like in the movie "It's a Wonderful Life", one single event changes everything and has an effect on a multitude of things that changes everyone else's life. Eventually, everyone in Houston will die, and the "I told you so" group will become the smartest people in the room. Remember, you asked.
  14. One of those things that need to be labeled: Don't try this at home
  15. Well, it's between wheat and corn harvesting season. Not much else to do up there right now....
  16. Good point. But they only had beans as a side on my last visit. May give them another try in a few years.
  17. Drove from Houston to Dallas a couple weeks ago and hadn't been to Woody's Smokehouse in Centerville in several years, so I thought I'd stop by for a late lunch. Seemed like Woody's was a decent place, not the caliber that would make anyone's list for best BBQ, but decent enough to make a planned stop. Well, it's doubled in size since the last time I was there. My overall impression is it's turned into an over-priced tourist trap. The pork ribs were bland and fatty...not that much meat. The brisket was dry and over-cooked. Not many sides these days, so I had some beans. They were salty. For a few pork ribs and a few slices of brisket was $16, not including a drink. Don't know if I caught Woody's on an off-day.
  18. This is really getting serious. Saying a prayer for these boys and everyone trying to help.
  19. Why don't they just get Superman to burst through the side of the mountain and create a path to walk out? Seems simple to me.
  20. Is that graphic fuzzy because of the dust??
  21. Well, it's not rain, but dust from the Saraha Desert rolling in the for weekend. Does this mean gritty BBQ for those of us grilling outside this weekend and over the 4th?? http://abc13.com/weather/how-dust-from-africa-can-impact-your-health-in-houston/2245790/
  22. Geezzz....totally looks lost....
