Seems like a great idea to allow all vets with severe PTSD to have access to weapons so they can commit suicide. I’m sure families that have lost their veteran to suicide would all agree with you.

What percent is it to the total that Biden has collected or Trump? Because comparing local DA contribution amounts to other larger elections is super helpful and insightful.
You may or may not have a point. So for Garza's current campaign contributions total, what percentage is $32,700 of the total? Is it 0.62% or something more significant to the total.
We know Soros grossly overfunded him in the last election as both a percentage of his funding and in gross dollar amounts compared to normal campaign funding for those running for Austin DA. So what percentage is Soros of his current campaign contributions (new, not carry over)?
And whether Soros is good or bad is a different discussion for the cloak room. I won't meet you there.

I'd much rather see someone from the other side of the aisle donating to the opposing party's campaign than some shitbag masquerading his money as "Texas [in]Justice & Public Safety PAC".
Look, I’m no fan of Garza. If I lived in Travis County I would have voted against him, just like I did against Ogg in Harris County (oh, noes Soros also donated to her opponent). But pointing out Soros contributions while ignoring shitbag billionaires on the other side is disingenuous at best.

So, I did see there was a contribution made to the Jose Garza campaign on January 17th ($37,200.00), from Texas Justice and Public Safety PAC (https://www.transparencyusa.org/tx/contributor/jose-garza-campaign/contributions).
Anyone want to guess who funds that PAC?

Approximately 0.62% of the amount that Abbott accepted from Jeff Yass and 1.2% of the amount accepted by Dan Patrick from Defend Texas Liberty PAC whose main supporter is Tim Dunn.
BUT SOROS!!!!

I'm confused as to how lack of police staffing sets a city back 15 years. So it's 2009 now?
It’s literally a Fox News story reposted by the NY Post. A one two punch of journalism for idiots.

She switched to a more R district. She will lose the primary but R will retain that seat.
I understand that. I was asking about the district that she currently represents. Did the Rs put up a viable candidate in that district?

Have the Rs put up a viable candidate in her current district or have they ceded that district to the Ds? It would be great if she loses her seat in Congress AND the Ds flip a seat. I haven’t really been following the race since she switched districts.

A lot of old farts on this thread that still watch broadcast & cable TV. The biggest benefit of cutting the cord is that I’ve seen exactly zero campaign ads on my TV screen this cycle.

Hertz is selling off their Hertz fleet at fire sale prices right now, but as @gsoda3 mentioned, there’s a reason they’re unloading it on the cheap.

How bad is the walk from the red line light rail to minute made? Is it safe to walk at night? Zaza all booked.
Zaza has a fleet of house cars. Just have one of them drive you downtown.

Stay at the Hotel Zaza. It’s close to everything you mentioned.
Just to clarify, stay at the one in the Museum District. I told a friend to stay at Zaza last year and his wife accidentally booked the one in Memorial City. They wondered why I recommended a hotel on the Katy Freeway.

Need that guy that was on the board before they bond election spewing pro project connect bullshit to come back and apologize.
Complete grift/money suck.It still blows my mind that 240,000 people in Austin voted for a substantial tax increase to have the city and Cap Metro manage a gigantic infrastructure project. Anyone who knows an iota about the City of Austin knows that infrastructure isn’t exactly in the city’s wheelhouse.

IVF is a booming business in Utah, not usually thought of as a progressive state, due to the predominant religion’s beliefs towards having children. I would love to hear from politicians from that state.

I'm similarly skeptical that Swedish Hill will re-open in their new permanent location once development is finished. (Eh, it's not the same as Sweetish Hill, anyway. Mostly the same, but I preferred the old name.)
I think that one is much more likely since Swedish Hill is owned by MML and they are partners in the redevelopment.

Starting a philanthropic arm of a company and investing millions if not billions in trying to influence politics at the level he does... Yeah, no thanks. That money would be better spent feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, or aiding natural disasters, not funding Beto's third failed attempt at running for office.
Now do Tim Dunn, the Koch Brothers, David Green, etc.

Abbott needs blame for the increase in border crossings since he started busing them out of the state. That has to be seen as a plus for anyone crossing into Texas.
This. He’s spending billions on a migrant transportation system that enables and encourages illegal immigration. He might as well be placing ads in Central America promoting free transportation. Someone should create a mock advertisement with Greg Abbott promoting free plane and bus rides to the destination of your choice in the US.
