Why? What difference does it make? It’s not like he’s spending the night at the Four Seasons tonight. Psycho dude is going to spend the rest of his life in prison. Who the fuck cares what he’s wearing at a court hearing? The asshole’s life is effectively over if the judge accepts the plea.
They had a stuffed pork tenderloin entree that I ate the shit out of when I was a kid 30+ years ago. The original on W 6th was in our regular rotation for Sunday evening dinner.
You’re painting with very broad strokes. One family is being very loud. One family has stayed quiet. Two other families have said they’re totally good with not going through the trauma of a trial.
I have no idea how I would act if one of my family members was a victim, but I’d like to think that I would not want to be put through the trauma of a trial. I would like to think that I would find peace knowing that this guy will never spend another day of his life as a free man.
Meh. Death penalty cases are extremely costly and consume a ton of resources. Plea deal for life without parole to avoid a lengthy trial makes a ton of sense for the state. In the long run, it’s also a ton cheaper to incarcerate someone for life than it is to go through the process to execute someone.
That’s giving people way too much credit. We’re a decade in on this movement at this point. If you’re still on board, you’re a racist. Stupid and gullible, too? Sure, but let’s not allow people to make excuses for what their beliefs stand for.
