  1. So much this. Funny you bring up Ferrari vs Lamborghini. While they compete in the same category, they each have a different target audience. The Venn diagram overlaps, but it’s not a perfect circle.
  2. This is misleading at best. Do those contracts exist? Yes. Is that the trend in contracts for marquee players these days? Nope.
  3. My wife is a design and marketing expert that has worked in the ultra luxury segment for a number of years. I fully understand how it works. I was originally making an offhand joke about Lamborghini seeing a race to the dealership to pick up a sports car based on seeing a 19 year old athlete driving one. And then we got a comparison between Lamborghini and Dr. Pepper which made it all worth it.
  4. True, but we’re also seeing a big move, especially for the big name players, to guaranteed money contracts so even if they get paid weekly, it’s a set amount no matter their production or playing time. See Dak Prescott.
  5. Lamborghini and Dr. Pepper are slightly different brands. I get what you’re saying, but also understand that Lamborghini, with the exception of the Urus, does not sell a ton of vehicles to someone who pops in off the street and says sell me a new Lambo. Try walking into your local Hermes store and ask to purchase a Birkin. Please post the results here or, better yet, video and post it here for the lolz.
  6. I don’t think anyone has thought “I ought to go down to Lamborghini of Austin and pick up a new Lambo” because they saw a Texas football player driving one.
  7. I’m not sure if you missed my point because I threw in the bit about the random EE major since it’s been brought up here, but I was agreeing that under current constructs the players aren’t being paid to play, but they’re market value is absolutely derived from their ability to play.
  8. It feels like a lot of semantics being thrown around on this thread, so not to pile on to that, but I think it boils down to they aren’t getting paid to play football, but they are getting paid because they do play football. It goes back to the point that people keep trying to make of why doesn’t random EE major non-athlete get signed to a deal from a NIL collective. Welp, they don’t play football.
  9. Clemson is academically light years ahead of Bama.
  10. Seems like negligence on the part of the ship owners. I don’t know the first thing about maritime insurance policies, but are you saying the insurance companies are going to argue that they’re not on the hook if the owner didn’t keep the vessel in seaworthy condition?
  11. Lawsuits filed by both the State of Maryland and the USDOJ. It will be fascinating to see how the massive insurance syndicates handle this claim. Bunch of attorneys working for the insurance companies are going to make a whole lot of money on these claims. Maryland Files Suit Following DOJ Lawsuit
  12. And that one has been laying off significant numbers of employees because his friend is driving the company into the ground.
  13. And these are the people who think it’s a grand idea to abolish the Department of Education.
  14. Completely agree. It would be awesome to see Alex’s money get turned into some sort of scholarship endowment for kids that have survived a school shooting, but I don’t think his businesses are worth anything without Alex. It’s not like InfoWars has any tangible assets besides a shitty set, some cameras and other assorted electronics.
  15. This. People are slobs. There’s a reason I’ve never once eaten something at a work potluck. That’s the day I schedule a lunch away from the office.
  16. It’s a Mich Ultra. Just a more expensive version of the Dasani that the other kid is drinking.
  17. I hope that turns out to be true, but the part that I hate is that he’s damn near judgement proof. His company is worth zero without him so while the families get the satisfaction of torturing him, they don’t get any real financial compensation.
  18. I feel like this is like the Shaggy —> Surly drama. Alex can just go set-up another company, InfoBattles, and continue to shill his food buckets and boner pills and leave behind an asset that’s worth nothing without his cult of personality.
  19. How many members of the Jones family are in attendance?
  20. I doubt Deion will stick around after his son and Hunter are gone.
  21. Good point. Dak is leader in the clubhouse for $/playoff loss. The value goes up even further if the Cowboys don’t even make the playoffs.
