  1. Every time I see a pic of you my first thought is how miserable that hair and beard must be in the summertime in Texas. As much as I sweat I think I would have to push around an IV pole with a constant drip of fluids if I had that much hair on my noggin.
  2. Trump and the couch fucker conjure up a fake crisis to rile up the base and end up creating a real crisis as the byproduct.
  3. How are you measuring market value? It sounds like you’re using Zillow estimates unless I’m misunderstanding you. Zillow is famously inaccurate with their estimates. I don’t disagree that there’s downward pressure on pricing in Austin, but I haven’t seen any credible data showing 40% decreases.
  4. Are you talking appraised value? The number you get from the appraisal district is not market value.
  5. And, in both cases, the perp is someone who should not have access to firearms.
  6. Wife and I saw it in the theater this afternoon. Very much enjoyed it and I got a lot out of it. It made me reflect on some of my closest and oldest friendships. Felt like it struck a pretty good balance between presenting a friendship that transcends gender identity, the mental toll of grappling with living in a body that you weren’t meant to and the political environment all with a little humor mixed in. It’s only 114 minutes and I thought it could have gone deeper into certain areas, but at the same time it felt approachable for some people that might be more uncomfortable with the subject matter. I will be very interested in your reaction after viewing.
  7. A journalist should call him a couch fucker in one of these interviews. When he says he’s not, say they received multiple calls from viewers saying that JD has been fucking couches against the couch’s will.
  8. Damn, that’s actually pretty encouraging given the source. I get that these people are morons, but maybe they have some sort of intelligence to give us some hopium. I still think Allred has no chance, but I will be thrilled if he beats Cruz.
  9. How nice is the vehicle that you will be driving to Houston?
  10. lol. She gets big mad at Maher for doing the same thing she did to Marge and Ladybugs.
  11. To be consistent, the Post should report on every auto accident in NYC involving a Haitian.
  12. @Samson's Wig already did a good job summarizing my thoughts at a high level, but at a macro level I don’t see how any of the plans you bulleted are world-class. Quite the opposite specifally on the 1962 highway plan that would have cut a freeway right through some of Austin’s most valuable land. I can’t imagine Austin being the city it is today with a freeway parallel to Town Lake going down 1st St and then crossing the lake in the center of downtown. The hike and bike, arguably one of Austin’s crown jewels and one of its most unique features would be adjacent to a gridlocked freeway. It would be analogous to the Pierce Elevated in downtown Houston that the state is about to spend billions to remove. One point I will fully agree with you on is Austin’s outdated land use code. But given Austin politics since forever, the inability to make any meaningful changes is a feature not a bug of Austin city government. This idea that Austin is a world-class city is far-fetched. Is it one of America‘s great large (not mega) cities? Absolutely. It’s a long way from being considered world-class and a lot of that is centered around the fact that Austin, outside of UT and the Dells, does not have a history of philanthropy. The wealth in Austin is relatively recent and built off of tech and those folks haven’t really given back in any meaningful way (again, the Dells being the exception).
  13. That’s one thing I’m okay with. Imagine how much more travel would cost if these people had passports and wanted to see the world.
  14. If Leipold can turn this around and get KU to a consistent 7-8 win season he can be career coach at KU making a few million. Win a bowl game here or there and he’s perfect for that job.
  15. In addition to my feeling that time is better spent elsewhere, my concern would be the backlash from giving him legitimacy.
