  1. Truthfully, waxing the hairs on my balls would probably be less painful than watching this nightmare.
  2. I had stuff to do with my kids today, so I didn't even see the game. I pulled up ESPN on my phone, saw the halftime score was 14-10 and said, "just watch, Texas will completely blow this." And sad to say, I was exactly right. The silver lining was that I didn't have to actually witness any of it. I kind of hate myself now for allowing myself to believe Sark would be different at the beginning of the season. Maybe he yet will turn this thing around. But I've pretty much reached the same level of apathy now about Texas football that I had under Turtle Tom. I no longer plan my weekends around catching the game. Hell, I don't even have a fucking clue who we are playing next week, except that it will probably be at eleven fucking o'clock once again, which is actually 9:00 am for me out here on the west coast. Nope, not going to bother. I pretty much don't give a shit at this point. I'm more interested to see what Beard is going to do with the hoops team now.
  3. Thinking at this point Texas should just play to its strengths. We should drop to C-USA and beat up on shitty teams every week. It's about the only thing we seem to be good at these days.
  4. Fire everybody.
  5. Not rock bottom, but today was probably in the Top 10-15 of shittiest days as a Texas football fan. I think Rout 66 in 1997 was probably pretty close to rock bottom in my lifetime.
  6. Welp, think I'm about done with college football this season.
  7. There have been worse days than this in the history of Texas football, but there haven't been many.
  8. Smoking ribs and chicken tonight. About the only thing this worthless day has going for it so far.
  9. Any chance we could reboot today? Or turn it off and turn it back on or something?
  10. Days like today make me grateful I live in a state where recreational weed is legal. I feel bad for all you folks who don't right now.
  11. You would be, too, if you grew up in SE Texas surrounded by those mouthbreathers when they were running train on the SWC in the late 80s and early 90s.
  12. Gonna be this kind of day, isn't it.
  13. I know Bama will probably come back and win this one...but damn, if they don't, I may have to swear off college football for the rest of the season. Ugh.
  14. Yeah, I live on the west coast, so it's been 9:00 am kickoffs every Saturday for me for the last several. My liver says F U to the Big XII, getting too old to be day drinking this much. Cannot wait to bail out of this shit conference. Sick of getting fucked over with early games every goddamn week.
  15. Welcome to the Big XII, where the refs prison raping Texas is an annual tradition.
  16. This. I don't think even Saban could win this game with the wet paper bags we have on the OL. Yes, the defense was bad in places and deserves a share of the blame. But the offense has to be able to sustain drives and not go three-and-out drive after drive. And the reason that happened was because the OL was getting whipped by the OU defensive front on every play. I think Sark and Flood are going to have to do a wholesale rebuild of the OL going forward. I'm not sure these guys are good enough to fill out a Division II roster right now.
  17. He'll probably end up at Ohio State for a year or two, never see the field, and then transfer to someplace like UNLV. See also: Tathan "ass, my dude" Martell
  18. Sadly, I don't even have the energy anymore to even be mad about today's outcome. Just utter disappointment, which is sadly expected after 10 years of mediocrity. Probably only going to about halfway pay attention to the rest of the season from this point. Hopefully Sark can light up the recruiting trail and replace the wet paper bags we have on the O-Line with an actual line.
  19. Lincoln Riley closed down (insert favorite longtime Austin institution here), tore it down, and built a bunch of shitty overpriced lofts in its place.
  20. You're not wrong, but football is a team sport. TCU didn't just randomly drop the ball on the turf three times. Our defense made some good plays to get the ball back to the offense, which struggled at times during the game. The defense had their share of miscues as well, but the team as a whole made just enough plays to get the win.
  21. On the one hand, I do understand the reservations some folks on here have about Sark. It's easy to become jaded after wallowing in mediocrity for over a decade, the way this program has. On the other hand, Texas did something today it hadn't done since 2013: go into Fort Worth and beat a very motivated opponent who considers us their Super Bowl. And sprinkle in some extra animus toward us this season due to our decision to bolt for the SEC. And we did it in spite of the fact that our offense wasn't clicking on all cylinders, except for a superstar performance by Bijan. Don't forget we are breaking in a new QB this year. We are also dealing with the aftereffects of the prior coach, who was so shitty, even our own players were actively sabotaging him with recruits. So of course there are going to be fucking issues on our roster this season. As the old saying goes, "you can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit." We have a junior QB who is very good, although probably not spectacular, and a freshman QB who is very green. We also have some issues with our lines that we are having to scheme around. If we finish 8-4 this season going into the bowl game, I'll be happy. If we finish 12-1, give Sark a fucking raise and name a building after him.
