  1. My vote: Open with Arky Keep Texas-OU exactly where it is, has been, and forever shall be Play aggy on Turkey day I know, I get it...aggy is insufferable and a lot of you want to punish them for their asshattery. But dammit, Turkey day/weekend just hasn't been the same for the last 10 years. Bring 'em on.
  2. That's a strange hill to die on, Pac-12 - but if you want to go the way of the Big XII, be our guest.
  3. I remember it well - used TEX all four years I was at Texas to register for classes. You young'uns will never know the agony of Dr. Livingston's voice telling you: "MATH 408D ... WAS NOT ADDED" The old-timer upperclassmen used to tell us horror stories of actually having to stand in line at the Frank Erwin Center and manually register, pre-TEX.
  4. I came in with a bunch of credits from AP exams and community college, which helped. Plus my hometown was pretty shit, so I hung around Austin for a couple of summers and took summer school. No regrets, but maybe I could have dragged it out a bit more...LOL.
  5. I can confirm. In addition to my undergrad from Texas, I have a graduate degree from a university in the midwest which is generally not known for fielding competitive sports teams. I have a token amount of gear from that school, and I do wear it on occasion. But over 90% of the time, I wear my Texas gear. I look back on my four years in Austin very fondly, they went by way too quickly.
  6. Then fine, the SEC will just fill all four spots, and no playoffs for you. Somehow I don't think the other conferences will like that very much.
  7. I would say this guy is a moron, but his Twitter handle already did that for me.
  8. More like Texas is the rich dad who is tired of footing the bill for all of his trust fund children, and he just told them all that it's time move out and get an apartment.
  9. SWC, Big XII, and ??? Reminds me of an old joke: the "N" on the Nebraska players' football helmets stands for "Nowledge."
  10. I wanted Texas in the Pac at one time for purely selfish reasons, as I live out on the west coast and would love to see the Longhorns come out here from time to time. But I think the move to the SEC now makes perfect sense, and I am 100% behind it.
  11. Hmmm, guess he forgot about the part where FSU finished 5-6 in Jimbo's final season there, were set to go off a cliff, and A&M bailed him out with a massive contract. I'll give Looch one thing, though - he is good at the grift. He knows how to spin takes that the aggy faithful will slop right up like pigs at a trough.
  12. I blame the Big XII more for this smooth buttfucking by the officials, Oklahoma State was just the lucky beneficiary. It honestly would not surprise me if it were to come out one day that somebody in the Big XII office had money on Oklahoma State for this game.
  13. I was running with the meme there, but this is true.
  14. Fuck yeah. Now give us our 20 30 pieces of silver and let's get on with it.
  15. Hold all the hearings you want, Danny. They're not changing a goddamn thing. May I suggest bringing in a keg or two of Shiner Bock to make them slightly less boring.
  16. Yeah, I think I can safely say that most of the "S-E-C" chants I have heard lately have been coming from the direction of Collie Station. Look, we'll respect our peers in the SEC, and hopefully they'll respect us. We're not doing any of that silly ass-kissing shit, though.
  17. If anything, from what I have heard, it may have been the other way around. OU got pissed at Bowlsby for not accommodating their request to move the Nebraska game to prime time, and that was apparently the straw that broke the camel's back and started this whole process. Texas isn't going to sit around and watch its two biggest rivals competing in the SEC without joining in. Anyone who thought Texas would go, "okay, fine, we'll just go make Texas Tech and Oklahoma State our new rivals in the Big XII" is seriously deluded. Of the remaining eight, Oklahoma State is one of those schools I don't really harbor a whole lot of dislike for, aside from the hatchet job that the officials pulled on us with the officiating in the 2015 game. I've always kind of liked Gundy as a coach. Hope it works out somehow for them somewhere.
  18. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I really don't give a flying fuck about horns down. It just shows that they have no meaningful culture or traditions of their own, other then clowning ours. Obsession noted.
  19. I respect the shit out of what Bill Snyder accomplished at Kansas State during his prime, but at this point, you have to wonder if late-stage dementia is setting in.
  20. John Sharp has to get pegged by the sheep of his choosing?
  21. I honestly do not understand why Corn Aggy gives a shit about what we do anymore. I thought that B1G move was working out great for them. @Cornfusion said so himself.
  22. I think you're misunderstanding the dynamic here. The SEC is not "run" by one school in particular. It seems to me to be much more of a collaborative effort. I much prefer a situation like the SEC where Texas gets to be an adult, work alongside its peers, and make decisions as to what is best with other adults in the room - rather than Texas having to be one of a pair of adults and babysit a bunch of children. That would be the situation we are presently leaving, by the way.
  23. I realize this is probably commish-speak, but geez, it sounds like aggy aren't the only ones who can't read the room.
  24. Oh yes, I remember that game well. Without a doubt, one of the low points of the Mackovic era.
