  1. Yeah, I was going to say...how do you get waitlisted to Oklahoma State? Don't they pretty much take anybody who can fog a mirror?
  2. Likely this plane, for those of you who want to follow along at home: https://www.flightradar24.com/GLF4/32fb61b6 It's not trackable via FlightAware, likely some aggy big cigar's private Gulfstream.
  3. UCF actually has ex-Auburn corch Gus Malzahn as their head corch. Malzahn wasn't terrible at Auburn - his worst season there was 7-6. I could see him potentially doing well enough at UCF to position himself for the next high-profile SEC or ACC opening. Maybe Florida might kick the tires on him after they inevitably fire Billy Napier at some point.
  4. Get outta here. This just gets funnier and funnier. The hilarious part is that Vandy just extended Lea to 2029 last winter. So both Vandy is going to pay a guy to not corch so that they can hire another corch who is also being paid not to corch. Somebody get Mel Brooks on the phone, I wanna pitch a sequel to The Producers.
  5. Shit this weekend has been glorious. I'm almost sorry that the aggy corch search saga is drawing to a close...for now. Still, they never fail to entertain. I'll be keeping my eyes on what happens to Bjork next. Does the aggy BOR shitcan him? Or will they simply haze him like a frat boy pledge at the aggy BOR Christmas party? And if they do shitcan him, will the aggy AD search be as entertaining as this one was?
  6. Hey now, my mama taught me that it's not nice to make fun of the kids who ride the short bus.
  7. I can't even find a compelling reason that Elko is better than Jimbo, but here we are.
  8. Terry Bowden out at Louisiana-Monroe: https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/38985538/terry-bowden-louisiana-monroe-football-coach I had forgotten that he was actually still coaching somewhere. He coached at Auburn back in the 90s.
  9. I know some of the Sooner fans were pretty unhappy with his playcalling, though the Sooners have been better on offense this season as compared to last season. Of course, they were terrible last season, so nowhere to go but up, really. My guess is that the Land Thieves will promote ex-North Texas coach Seth Littrell to be their new OC.
  10. 2010s era Texas football reminds me of some of the family conversations I've sat through at Thanksgiving: "We shouldn't really talk about that right now..."
  11. Can confirm, there are a shit ton of transplants from NY, NJ, PA, MA, and other states up that way here in RTP. I think the only people from Jersey in Collie Station are the ones who took a wrong turn when they exited the rental car lot at Intercontinental Airport.
  12. "It's okay, sugarplum. They'll fire me in about five years, and we'll have one hell of a golden parachute. And we won't have to live in that shithole ever again."
  13. Was it just me, or did anyone else notice that Kentucky was ranked even lower? Checkmate, sips! (Oh, and Indiana just fired their coach today.)
  14. I’m almost hoping they DO hire Elko. I got shit to do at work this week, and another truckload of aggy misery will tank my productivity all to hell.
  15. For real. It’s like driving by an overturned manure truck on I-45 without all the inconvenience.
  16. The funniest thing to me is that I figured Elko would probably be their guy all along. They could have just worked out the terms and hired him without a lot of drama. But no, they had to fuck this up in the most spectacular way possible. They have probably screwed themselves out of being able to hire anyone else worth a damn on favorable terms for at least the next 10 years. Never change, aggy.
  17. Funny thing is, Stoops was probably about as good of a hire as they were going to realistically get at this point in time. The fact that they lack sufficient self-awareness to see that makes this debacle all the more entertaining. They still think Saban is just going to kill himself if he doesn’t get a contract offer from them, and it’s pretty damn hilarious to watch as it unfolds.
  18. I live about a half hour from Durham. Durham used to be kind of ghetto, but it has undergone a significant amount of gentrification recently - much like Austin but on a much smaller scale. It's turning into a really nice place to live with a lot of hip, trendy restaurants and boutiques. It's also about three hours from the coast (OBX/Wilmington/Myrtle Beach) in one direction, or roughly the same from some decent ski resorts in the western NC mountains in the opposite direction. If I were given a choice between living in Durham or living in Collie Station, it would be a no-brainer. Durham all the way.
  19. Either Elko took one look at the clown show going on in Collie Station right now and said, "naaah, I'm good" - or the agroids already have their guy, and he is saving face. Probably the former.
  20. Just wait until he sees this: Or even this: https://player.vimeo.com/video/26529303?h=860d1335af
  21. To use a baseball analogy, aggy reminds me of the New York Mets or San Diego Padres of late. They spent a shit ton of money on big names with subpar results. They thought they could just outspend everyone else and buy a championship. But smart people will tell you it doesn't really work that way. Yes, you have to spend some money to bring in quality people, but there is also a process involved in building champions. You can't just bring in a collection of prima donnas and expect it to just magically work out. There has to be quality leadership, a scheme that yields results, and players that buy in to the process. That's the one thing that has impressed me so far with Sark's tenure. He seems to have a quality process in place to get Texas to where we all know it can be. Only time will tell if it pans out, but the trajectory is great so far. aggy has not come to this realization yet, much to our grand amusement. Not sure if they ever will.
  22. No kidding. I think Coach Prime is way overhyped, but he did just go 4-8 with nearly an entire roster he built via the portal after running off pretty much all of the old roster. It remains to be seen what Prime's ceiling is, but a program worth their shit would realize that a lot of holes in their roster could be filled with quality replacements from the portal. But luckily for us and our never-ending amusement, aggy is not a program worth their shit. They're going to be wishing for 7-5 next season after this shit show.
  23. Actually have seen rumors that Patterson might be headed to Albuquerque to take the New Mexico job. Oof...when you get spurned because New Mexico is a better job...that's just big oof.
  24. Plus, he doesn't have to live in Collie Station. Automatic win.
