  1. Pt II in 2010 was 93 degrees. Fuck that game.
  2. Damn shame but they still have 3 timeouts
  3. Not having the yellow first-down line on this broadcast is weird.
  4. Prejudice, bias, and racism are all different things my man. Clearly you don't know the difference.
  5. Finally just saw it last night. I thought it was excellent. I've always appreciated the small details Tarantino puts into his movies. I loved the Antonio Marghareti thread from IB and the resetting of 60's Hollywood theaters and restaurants. I even appreciated how he subtly paid hommage to Mexicans in the service industry in LA -- essentially referencing their exclusion from Hollywood: ALL valets in the movie, the kind movie theater manager, stage crew, and the very small parts in westerns at that time. My family has been in LA since the 20's; Hollywood strikes an interesting chord with the Mexican-American community there.
  6. Yup, I've done it. Seems like a swell idea at first, but I think you'll realize quickly they're two activities you'd rather do separately.
  7. Sacramento is the biggest farm to fork city in the US, I believe. Some great meals to be had. I grew up in the central valley and have had the pleasure when I go back to visit my folks: Brunch - Tower Cafe Burgers and Brews - Burgers & Brews Tacos - Taqueria Rincon Alteño (going to and from the airport) Californian - Red Rabit Kitchen They also have a great arcade/bar/pizza joint called the Coin-OP. Be sure to check out the capital mall and walk around Old Sac as well. Enjoy!
  8. House of Prime Rib for dinner in SF. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  9. Bistrot Victories was a great little bistro near the Louvre --the wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  10. I feel you on the rocks. It was hard not buy some water shoes, but vendors were trying to sell those water shoes for €25. F all that noise. The Farmer's market was fantastic, got some great picnic bites and bought the wife some flowers!
  11. Some of the fun in Nice. Stayed at the Palais de la Méditerranée, off Prom de Anglais. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  12. So realized, yea my photos weren't showing. Second try: Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  13. Honestly, the West Loop is my favorite location to stay in the city. A short train ride to pretty much anywhere, walkable to Au Cheval and Girl & Goat (as mentioned) and other cool restaurants. Plus one of the Goose Island brewhouses is nearby.
  14. Didn't get a chance to visit Eze (as everyone was telling us to). Just not enough time out there. Had we done it over, we would have spent a few less days in Paris and more days in Nice/Côte d'Azur. We spent pretty much a whole day at Paloma Beach on Cap Ferrat:
  15. View from our hotel in Paris. Stayed in Saint Germain de Prés, right on the edge of the Latin Quarter. View from our hotel overlooked the Rue de Buci, filled with a bunch of restaurants and cafes below. It really got busy at around 11pm and crowds were out until at least 3am each night. First meal was a seafood bistro around the corner of our hotel. Mrs RamUT had the St. Pierre fish with asparagus and clams, while I had the salmon ceviche with papaya and ginger sauce: After a late lunch we took a stroll to Jardin du Luxenbourg. Some great people watching. We brought a blanket and a bottle of wine and took a nap on the lawns.
  16. Just got to Paris ast Thursday and having an incredible time with the wife. Amazing food, great people watching (we're staying in Saint Germain) and very friendly Parisians for the most part. One more day tomorrow in Paris, then off to Burgandy then Nice. Pics to come soon.
  17. In Napa, definitely try and get a table at Buchon; Michelin star restaurant without the prices of say, French Laundry. I like having lunch at Rutherford Grill or Gott's Roadhouse as their corkage fees are cheap. Also Oxbow Market is a fun way to try a lot of different local food specialities. Wineries will depend on what you're really into and what type of experience you'd like to have. Sterling is a nice starter for Napa as it's further up north in the valley, nice views and solid wine overall. My speed is something more like Frog's Leap; smaller and intimate tastings that don't break the bank.
  18. Just moved here from Bay Area about a year ago. Food scene is definitely better than I was expecting. Some go to's are: Sushi Den, Citizen Rail, Tocabe, Acorn, El Noa Noa, El Taco De MX. City O' City or Snooze Inn for breakfast. Denver has a beautiful backdrop but it's essentially flat like Kansas -- take a day trip to Boulder, Red Rocks, Estes Park or Garden of the Gods.
  19. I hear Zombie V is super dope. Still haven't been. Bart is convenient, if you want to hit up particular neighborhoods in the city center (Mission, Financial District, Union Square, Civic Center). MUNI is an excellent option as well if you want to deviate from the BART line to other neighborhoods (Castro, Noe Valley, Richmond, SoMa etc.).
  20. Tonga Room, it's in the Fairmont Hotel. It's good, but super crowded and expensive; it's essentially hotel bar prices. They often have a band playing in the pool on weekends. Honestly, if you go there, I'd grab one drink, take in the scene and walk across the street to Top of the Mark. It's at the top of the Intercontinental hotel; great 360degree views of the city.
  21. Solid Tiki Bar scene in the city: Smuggler's Cove near Hayes Valley (you'll wife will like the shopping there) is a great option (and the SF tiki standard) in terms of drink types and selections of rum. It gets pretty busy on the weekends, but if you get in between 5pm - 8pm you should be fine. Trad'r Sam is a local spot in the Richmond. Drinks are much cheaper than your trendy tiki fare. It's a great watering hole after you've hiked the Presidio or Lands End. Bartenders can be rude and I like that. Pagan Idol is a newer spot in the Financial District, mostly drawing the afterwork tech crowds but it has pretty fun decor. Drinks are also solid. But my favorite tiki bar in the Bay is in Oakland; Kona Club. If you want a very cool experience, not necessarily tiki but island themed with great food and drinks: LihoLiho Yacht Club. You're wife will love it.
  22. You my friend, are doing it right. Did you get try HenHouse while you were up in Santa Rosa? I love their beer but haven't been to the brewhouse because we always end up going to RR.
  23. Moonraker might be my favorite brewery in CA right now. And that includes the heavy hitters.
  24. That makes a lot of sense. We lived in the bay area for 7 years and BART was our go to getting in and around, well everywhere. Sounds like the metro it is. We are staying at Grande Hotel La Cloche because the fiancee fell in love with that hotel through all our searches. Will definitely look at Ma Cuisine as we've heard the restaurants in Beaune and Dijon are amazing. We've looked at guided wine tours that pick you and take your for half day/full day, but are somewhat skeptical. We also thought about renting a car, but it sounds like Napa style is not really what we wanna do. Yes we saw some great beaches in the area, one called Beach Salis. About how long is the train to monte carlo? great recs, i'll probably be DMing you about places to eat in Paris.
  25. Actually we'd like to do a day trip to Nice and possibly hit up a beach there, grab a good meal.
