  1. Poooooooooooooooooooor Aggy. Lotta sheep 'bout to have a bad night.
  2. Easy as Sunday morning. I like this kid. Cool as the other side of the pillow and shit.
  3. Well, so far so good for the Arch timeline.
  4. Looks like he landed on the ball. That's never fun.
  5. It's what we do here in these game threads and it's why they're fun. Get with the program.
  6. Also has a few more glaring issues like being lazy on his throws, not having a killer instinct, his deep ball being suspect, etc. The NFL is always desperate for QBs, but I don't see how people are thinking he's a top of the 1st round pick next year.
  7. Boys look pretty good. Can't say the same about some of our goofy ass fans, of course.
  8. 'Never fight uphill, me boys, never fight uphill.' They were fighting uphill, he said, 'Wow, that was a big mistake,' he lost his great general. 'Never fight uphill, me boys,' but it was too late.
  9. Thought the first 30 minutes was solid. Seemed like it became paint by numbers after that.
  10. Some good chess drama (besides the poisoning shit which is bonkers) going on, currently. Hans has been playing in events that Magnus has also been playing in. The past couple of days, Magnus was scheduled to play Hans, but he dodged the matches and had a teammate fill in for him. Problem is, the Speed Chess Championship is also currently going on. Hans has beaten two top-tier Super GMs (MVL, So) and if Magnus wins his match today he'll be matched up against Hans in the next round.
  11. Having built and worked on a ton of lines on oilfield leases, you'd be shocked at the state of some of them. I'm talking poles that haven't been changed out since Nixon was in office. If the wells those lines service are only doing 1-2 barrels a day (if that), nothing is being done to maintain those lines past does it get power to the well. I remember one pole I worked on was damn near cracked in half. The operator adamantly refused to change it out though. So I ended up running multiple 12" bolts through it and cranking down on them to try and hold it together. In the article they mention one of the fires was started because a metal conduit wasn't strapped down to the goddamn pole. Either someone with no license whatsoever was out there doing that work or the pole has been there for so long that the wind worked the straps loose. Which, yeah, I've seen happen more than once. And guess what? They're talking about suing to try and get compensated for the fires? Good fucking luck. Oilfield outfits will up and disappear on your ass before you know there's even a problem. Bankruptcy, change names, change leases, back to doing business. We had one outfit that we'd only do work for if they paid in advance with a credit card. According to the pumpers, the whole thing was one big money laundering scheme. These guys never took care of their shit, paid late or not at all, and you could never find the dude in charge. Except for the one time a Saudi guy showed up in his lifted Hummer with a pair of call girls, of course. When things froze over real bad a couple of years back, this shitty ol' line broke from the weight of the ice. Caught the pole on fire and it was still burning days later when we showed up to fix it. Also killed a couple of horses and a skunk that happened to wander over and step on the downed wire. Luckily it was February on the top of a mountain so there wasn't really any chance for it to burn a bunch of shit down.
  12. Lots of people trying to badmouth Bud over that fight, which is ridiculous. Went up a weight class to fight arguably the best dude in the division who is naturally at that weight. I had Bud 8-4. Madrimov was feinting so much he made Usyk look lazy. Problem was, he wasn't actually throwing. Bud won that off his combos and his jab. Not his best performance, but Madrimov is very good and a very awkward guy to fight. Knew Anderson was going to get sparked. Dude doesn't have the chin for HW, his technique is sloppy, and he needed more seasoning. What an awful, awful decision to stand and bang with a guy 40 pounds heavier than you, especially when your defense sucks. If you take a drink every time Anderson leans or moves straight back to avoid a shot only to eat said shot, you'd die from alcohol poisoning. Bakole needs to be in there with the better guys in the division, but I don't think he's some boogeyman or anything. He can bang and he's got fast hands. Still, he's slow, too willing to take shots, and his footwork is bad. A smarter boxer than Anderson will stay at range with a strong jab and wait until Bakole is gassed before banging it out. Big congrats to Rayo. The folks jumping on the Pitbull bandwagon after his demolition of Romero always confused me. Pitbull is a one-dimensional fighter. He keeps his guard up, walks in, and wings hooks. That's it. Dude has no jab, no punch diversity, and he's short as shit. Rayo boxed his ears off and it absolutely shouldn't have been a split decision. And finally, Ruiz got embarrassed. He did break the fuck out of his hand, but that was an awful performance by him. Miller is a big, fat joke and Andy never hurt him once. Luckily for him he's got some name recognition and is Mexican so they pulled a draw out of their ass for him. What a waste of a career.
  13. Getting cooked in debates because of legitimate blemishes on her record: Having a reputation as being rather unpleasant to work with, to put it mildly: https://www.businessinsider.com/kamala-harris-former-staffer-soul-destroying-criticism-aides-report-2021-12?op=1 Fair or not, the allegations she slept her way to the top which will resonate with a lot of (white) people in those midwest swing states. And the fact that she's a woman and black. I mean, you know where you live, right? That's going to cost her votes. Tell me what is substantially different about 2024 Kamala from the 2020 version who managed to snag 1% of the vote. She did a whole lot of nothing as VP. Hid her in a closet and the one time they let her out to deal with the border it didn't go well. She's not Donald Trump and she's not a walking, ice cream eating corpse. Those are her positives. If this wasn't a literal battle for the future of democracy in this country we'd want just about anyone else to be running. Since it is a literal battle for the future of democracy, KAMALA 4 PRESIDENT! Unfortunately in this country you have two choices. One side are literal fascists who have completely gone through the looking glass into absolute insanity. And the other side are Center-Right corporate stooges who pretend to give a shit while rolling over and counting their money. I'm still waiting for an actual liberal party, hell, just a Center-Left party to emerge in American politics. I doubt I'll see it in my lifetime and Kamala for sure ain't going to start it. But I'll absolutely take the Corpocrats brand of do-nothing politics over the people trying to turn this country into the Handmaid's Tale.
  14. Yeah, Harris isn't going to be some savant on the campaign trail. She still has all the problems that plagued her when she was gaining 1% of the vote to be the Democratic nominee back when. Luckily, the guy she's running against is a rapist, pedophile, Russian asset, insurrectionist felon who clearly ain't all there upstairs anymore, if he ever was. Of course, the Democrats are so incompetent they can fuck up a wet dream. So I don't think there's any need to get fancy here. She just needs to 3 yards and a cloud of dust this thing until November.
  15. Hell, they've already started that shit. The fat, lazy eyed bitch from Arkansas passed a law a year or so back removing the requirement that you fill out a form if your under-16 kid wants a job. And it ain't like these are paper route/lemonade stand jobs, either. They've got kids thrown into meat packing plants. https://www.npr.org/2023/03/10/1162531885/arkansas-child-labor-law-under-16-years-old-sarah-huckabee-sanders
